It’s an experience that will last much longer than the $50 you might spend in one night out at the movies. I’ve not played games in years, but the connections, experience and satisfaction of exploring your potential is priceless. I’m brand new in Aurora Republic, currently learning through exploration. I’ll add it’s more than just a game. The interesting piece of this is that there will be years of experience and time to connect, explore and discover where you want to fit in best. Can’t think of a better legal value for your personal satisfaction. 😉

I’d love to join, but I’m about to go to college, so I don’t know if I’d have enough time to play for long. I also don’t really have any expertise to add to the republic, and I know you people are looking for people with real world experience to work in the different branches of the republic. I have an alright computer and no voice-chat microphone. Anything you have to say to convince me this is worth my $50 to get the game?
All just sounds like excuses to me… =)
I’m kidding, and I understand the conflicts of time, and real life absolutely comes first. But to answer your question, let me turn it around on you.
Time. We have no minimum play requirements, plus it’s still about 2 years before the game goes ‘Live’… this is all still playtesting as an Alpha (game development). But we are getting a jump on it, so we’ll be that much farther along when it does go thermo-nuclear.
Experience. Our ‘looking for experienced people’ is a two-way street. The reason we are looking for experience is so it can be passed on to others. Which means we also need those ‘others’, to benefit from said experience.
But the only one who can make this decision is you. If you choose not to join, you will never miss us, I promise. However, if you do decide to join, we’d love to have you aboard, and if you use the following referral code when purchasing your game package, you will receive an additional 5,000 UEC (United Earth Credits… the in-game currency) at game start:
STAR-SP6M-VCZX
Thanks for the question, and let me know how else I can help!

Thanks for the reply. I will consider it. Let’s hope my Macbook can handle it if I can’t bring my PC to college.
Nolan, Star Citizen does not work on a Mac. I found that out after I purchased a membership. But I’m sure you could get plenty of help to build a workaround.
Good to know. If that’s the case, I will probably only have this summer to play. Can you download it on multiple computers after purchasing the account like you can with minecraft?
That I am not sure about. I downloaded it onto my PC laptop, but have been unable to play it because my machine can’t handle it.
That’s what I’m worried about.
Yes, you can. Your RSI Account (the website that they manage all this hoopla from) is universal to any web browser, and you can download the client as many times and to as many machines as you like. When you launch the game, it asks you to log in with your creds from the website, and viola!
I spend a lot of time on the road, and regularly work in a different location (St. Louis) from where I live (Tampa). I have machines at both locations running the same game from the same account with only one purchase of a ‘game package’.
