UPDATE: After hearing from Members of three different methods they’ve used with success to embed a video in a blog post, I’ve edited the FAQ to reflect them all. Thanks for all of the help. (4/7/19)
We just posted a new instructional video showing how to embed a YouTube video in a post on the Member blog. Here’s the link to the FAQ, but I’ve included the video right here too. Let us know if you have any questions, or have a better way.

I’ve tried embedding a video using those instructions and it simply doesn’t work for me. The video shows up in the post, but as soon as I click on submit, all that is displayed is the gobbledygook.
All I do is paste the URL into the body of the post and it works flawlessly.
There must be a difference between browsers. I just tried the “just paste the URL” method, and mine displays just a URL. I’ll keep investigating.
I’m on a Mac and pasting the URL works for me on both Safari and Firefox.
It’s very much simpler than that! Just go to the YouTube, copy the URL out of the address bar on your browser, and paste it into the thing you’re editing.
Three left mouse button clicks while in the URL bar will select the whole thing. Then right-click and copy, go to the text you are writing, and paste.
One blank line above, and one blank line below.
There are two FAQ entries for this, the “How do I embed…” one should be deleted or updated and combined with this one.
