So, ever since I wrote my blog about the New Dog Whistle “spike, spiking, spikes,” and now “Surge, Surging” of new Wuhan Flu cases in the USA, it’s been bugging me that much of the data presented is in kind of a vacuum. More like specifically presented to us to provide the greatest amount of fear, the greatest impact, the most ‘control’….if you will.
At lunch today I began to think about claims by our President of “we’re the best” in testing. I wanted to find if that was true. What I found was the culmination of about 15 minutes of thought and work. I had to try to find some real data out there somewhere that looked robust and trustworthy. (I’ll beg the great membership here at BWDC to confirm this data set is good or crap, and I trust there are far more in tune members in statistics and reporting than I)
I began with a simple spreadsheet.
Note that I did not fill in the confirmed deaths and deaths as a percentage of polulation, as I had not found that…yet. Also note I compared the USA testing data against our classic ‘rivals’ Sweeden, Canada, France, Germany. Apparently, our President is correct in that we’re between 1.7 and 3 times better in testing than the other countries held up by the MSM as being so….awesome.
Then I kept looking for daily deaths reported, and found a place called “Ourworldindata.org”. Has any member see this already and I’ve arrived much late to the party? If so, let me know in comments.
This site is robust to say the least. If you can think about it, you can search for it and get a chart. The one I was interested in is below. Daily deaths reported per 1 million in population, once again comparing USA against it’s EU rivals. This is telling and flies in the face of the Dog Whistling Narrative by the left and the MSM. Please note what our “spikes” looks line in the daily death totals.
This is where I found this dataset.
I think we’re doing better than all in testing and better than most in declining death rates.
What do you think?

Hahahaha! Totally wrong in the post AND my spreadsheet. Rushing…Rushing….always Rushing. Thanks Scott. Now you see, if only I had been possessed by you BEFORE I had written that post, spelling would have been correct and and the post content well thought out! Plus, it would have had a “fabulous ending”.
Cool site. I had been there a few months back but they have more charts now. They had one on age breakdown but i couldn’t figure out how to get it off showing just spain.
Well, The Pain in Spain stays mainly in the Brain.
Whoa, I think I was just possessed by Scott Ott!
Chuckle, chuckle
Pray for sweet release. Pray hard.
