Let’s share information here if you get symptoms or get tested as positive for Covid-19. As of this morning March 18 I’ve got something going on with my throat right now as if it’s the beginning of a sore throat. No head or body ache so far. Very annoying if I do get this thing as I do not want to give it to my elderly landlord and his wife, both in their 80’s. I’ve taken so many measures to avoid catching it. It would be good to share the experiences with people so we might all know what to expect.

I have been feeling poorly for the last several days, but attributing my symptoms to other causes. My cough was my usual pollen allergy cough that I’ve had for years. I was tired because I’ve had chronic fatigue for decades. I had muscle pain because I lifted weights. I was cold because that is a common side effect for me when I take pain medications. I blamed several other symptoms on the pain medication.
But now my cough has changed, and I am running a low-grade fever. (I might have had the fever a few days ago when I felt bad, don’t know.) I am still a bit skeptical that it’s Covid-19 because the area where I live, although suburban, has no reported cases that I know about. So either the virus is already far more widespread in the population than current data suggests, and anecdotal evidence possibly supports, or I’ve got some other flu or virus.
BTW despite my fever I am feeling considerably better than I did two days ago.
Here’s hoping you are correct Laura! Good luck!
I got much better very quickly, then seem to have relapsed a little with some, but not all, symptoms. The cough hasn’t fully gone away, but it keeps changing. No fever.
Since the exposure of the flawed model at Imperial College London that caused all the panic, I am becoming increasingly convinced that the epidemiologists now suggesting that half the population has already had it and the peak is here now, or will be within a couple of weeks, are right. I remember some folks posting anecdotally in the chat room for TSL a week or two ago that they thought the mild flu they thought they (and their whole families) had in January matches all the symptoms. I’m really looking forward to the promised blood titers tests becoming widely available, which will allow large randomized studies that will determine how widespread the virus was.
those people who died from it earlier did not have the benefit of the hydroxychloroqine, which has only been unearthed in the last week or two. Now anyone who can get that prescribed stands a far better chance of recovery. It certainly makes me less worried for my parents
See what it’s like to get a Coronavirus test
story of one guy, 43, who got sick with it HERE. Sounds very unpleasant
I have a runny nose and sinus congestion….. You know, my normal seasonal allergies that I get every year and treat with meds and shots. A bit early this year. I rarely get sick from anything. Am nearly 65 (in April) and have not gotten any flu or other thing like it since high school. Allergies are basically your immune system attacking something not really harmfull. Therefore, real harmful things get attacked hard. Only a problem if bad allergy occurs when cold comes around. And FYI… I am not allergic to poison ivy. Handled it hate handed as recently as last November.
and just like that…fda approves hydroxychloroquine to be prescribed to help treat Coronavirus. The drug i posted about earlier in this thread
I am not a doctor or anything close but I do know a couple things for sure. There are a whole lot of different colds, flu’s, pneumonia’s around that have been around a long time. Many of these are quite nasty and can make you feel pretty horrible for a few days. If you have something, unless you were in a hot spot for the C-19 I would bet it is one of those. STILL the common sense thing to do would be to not spread whatever it is you are carrying.
from instapundit earlier this week: An Effective Treatment for Coronavirus. this drug has been around since WW2 and is safe. Also, per the informative comments section there, take zinc!
We had a windy March weekend, couldn’t get out to sun myself… don’t know if it was the wind – which always drives my sinuses crazy – or the not getting outside…
This morning I had the morning sinus congestion, easy enough to clear, but also my throat has been a little swollen (as in glands) today. It was cool but sunny, just a little breeze, so I got out to read and lie in the sun.
Could be hypocondriacism, I’m very suseptible to suggestion…
I live alone, sigh, so this is very reminiscent of the day after 9/11, when all phones were tied up and communication with loved ones was difficult.
Hope your sore throat passes quickly, Martin! Doesn’t sound like anything major to worry about yet, knock wood. I had a 24 hour flu on Friday that thankfully didn’t amount to more than half a work day lost and sweating it out overnight. Take care and keep us posted!
