Real-time Livestream of the Apollo 11 Mission

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing relive the journey in one single LIVE broadcast over six days. Track the mission as it unfolded from the viewpoint of Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins using NASA video and photo archive, visual reconstructions, and unedited audio between Mission Control and the astronauts themselves. YouTube livestream courtesy of Britain’s Channel 4 TV.

Enjoying this. Interesting graphical content they decided to accompany the audio with though. Seems designed to look old, yet is clearly beyond the computer graphics capabilities of the time. 🙂

This inane 60Minutes interview from 2005 with Armstrong illustrates perfectly why he hated to talk to the press. Even then that show was a joke. The interviewer – wearing a pretentious “street cred” earring – talks in the usual portentious tones.
