Adam Carolla with a great idea:
What if everyone, simultaneously, stopped apologizing, stopped backpedaling, stopped walking back tweets when they were … quoting Winston Churchill, and then they had to apologize after quoting Winston Churchill or whomever or whatever. What if it all stopped on Monday? There’d be no more business on Tuesday for the people who are trying to shut you down. If we did it and we provided a uniform front — if we all just sort of said, “No, I’m not going to apologize. It was a joke, or you took it the wrong way,” or “I meant it. Live with it,” this would end immediately.
Seems like only a matter of time before the excesses of the perpetual outrage mob drive more and more people to throw off the shackles of self-censorship. One can only live in a state of self-repression for so long before getting sick and tired of it enough to say damn the consequences. Orthodoxies tend to overreach and wear out their welcome, seemingly inevitably.
Carolla again at 4:25:
This is insane that they’ve talked us into having to preface every talking point…
Indeed.

Ditto! and I want to know Troy how you got the video to show up here on this site? where mine just shows the link to click on.
I literally just pasted the YouTube URL (
https://youtu.be/12cv-nOmyEk?t=63
) into the post (after hitting [return] to start a new paragraph). It showed up fine as an embedded video when I published the post.I have always hit the space bar after I copied and pasted and the video, article, etc. has always come up, but for some reason not here. I don’t have a “return” on this 9-year-old PC. I’ll try the “enter” next time since it acts as the return.
Thank you
Great idea.
Agreed. I’m in.
