I’ve been saying for a couple years now that sooner or later even stupid people are going to see the stupidity. Boy, I hope I’m right.
Steve, I am shocked by what you didn’t say in this piece! I was just waiting for you to tee up the old David Letterman line about Dukakis Ill advised pledge to “Tax you bastards back into the stone age”
I feel like I’ve failed you.
On this, the 75th anniversary of Apollo 11, congratulations to Russia–the first country to put a non-American into space! And congratulations to China–the first country to put an Asian into space! — NYT
Scott is absolutely right about deciding how a candidate would square with one’s way of life.
During the 2016 election, some of my students were old enough to vote, and were registered. They were confused about who to vote for, however.
I told them pretty much what Scott said–to vote for the candidate who believes what you believe, and who serves what you need the best.
Some of my students are on public assistance, and probably will be for their entire lives due to their disabilities. They asked me about the money that the government was giving them. Which candidate would make sure they were taken care of?
I couldn’t lie. I said if that’s an issue you are concerned about, Hillary would be the person who would insure that government funding would always be there.
I had to. My students were looking to me to guide them, and I couldn’t break their trust. I did let them know, however, that the candidate who best served my needs, and who I felt would protect my rights, was Trump.
I gave them both sides. Probably lost a few votes for Trump, but he carried NC anyway, so I couldn’t have done that much damage. 😉
“Ensure” =8^)
A friend writes, “I hope the Dems leave some stupidity until closer to the election so that people won’t forget.”
The supply of Dem stupid ain’t gonna dry up, especially since it has the Millennial entitlement mentality and the constant drumbeat of Orange Man Bad to keep it running. So long as we have people on our team who love both their country and their countrymen …
9:18/ Scott Ott with a fantastic line! I am not going to give it away.
But Scott, that was great.
I miss Scrappleface!
AMEN to that!
