Does Rep. Rashida Tlaib Hate Israel More Than She Loves Her Palestinian Grandma?

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-MI, said it would “kill a part of her” to visit the West Bank, and see her 90-year-old Palestinian grandma, if she had to a sign a promise to avoid calling for a boycott of Israel while in the country.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-MI, said it would “kill a part of her” to visit the West Bank, and see her 90-year-old Palestinian grandma, if she had to a sign a promise to avoid calling for a boycott of Israel while in the country. The planned fact-finding visit by Tlaib and Rep. Ilhan Omar drew protests from President Trump, was first blocked by the Israeli government, and then they agreed to allow it with her pledge to avoid pushing her BDS agenda. Does she really “hate Israel more than she loves” her grandmother, as one Israeli official says?

(“S” is for Sanctions.)

And per Laura Loomer, Rashida Tlaib’s grandmother is actually 85 years old, not 90. Tlaib seems prone to exaggeration and drama, IMO.

Also, she COULD visit her grandmother without going through Israel. She could go via Jordan, although it’s a more tedious and expensive process. Still, if she HATES Israel so much, why go that way?

Completely left out of the discussion is that there was a US congressional delegation in Israel earlier this month. 41 Democrats and 31 Republicans. They took separate, but overlapping tours of Israel to visit with officials and see their security situation. Omar and Tlaib didn’t go on the state funded trip, but instead booked their own trip, funded by Miftah, a BDS organization, and scheduled absolutely no meetings with any Israeli government officials. This was never about “fact finding” about the congressional budget, it was about looking for ways to fuel their anti-Israel propaganda.

Exactly what I was going to state. Why not go with the other 70 MOC. This needs to be stated much more thoroughly.

Her “right” to speak her mind exists only in America. That right isn’t guaranteed anywhere else. What Israel asked was reasonable, given the Palestinian problem they have with Hamas. When you go to a foreign country you respect their laws and their culture or you don’t go. That’s just courtesy. I see no reason for Israel to let what everyone knows is going to act like an “ugly American” into their country.

I’ve been annoyed with fact finding missions since Vietnam. Congress has no business running around the world. The President oversees foreign relationships. Congress is supposed to be looking out for the people inside of the US. That pesky division of powers,,/duties as drawn out by our Constitution is so bothersome.

The United States under Obama has denied entry to a Member of the Israeli Knesset. Which it had every right to do.
So these sudden cries of outrage by those same people who had applauded Obama then, are blatantly dishonest.

Choosing politics over her 90 year old grandmother.

Sorry, not sorry. That is a [expletive] move.

(The redacted expletive rhymes with what a baseball player can do with a ball, or what a football player can do with a ball. Either one would work.)

Well, if she couldn’t parade her aging, long suffering, little-ole granny on TV as a prop to bash Israel and the Jews, what’s the point of going?
