Sometimes it seems the tactic cannot be to reason them out of their position, as they never reasoned themselves into it, but instead show that what they believe the politicians are telling them and what the liars are actually doing are not the same.
As some people have said “I did not leave the Democrat party, it left me” and especially for a populist-type like Pres Trump, you can show that the Republicans are the ones pushing the legislation that JFK Democrats used to and those that call themselves Democrats now are the “squares” and “the man” the party of the people used to rail and fight against.
Leftists though, like Antifa and other proto-Brownshirts, need to get a taste of their own medicine. We just hope it won’t escalate TOO far with their media overlords tamping the flames with a “we made our point, we can dial it back a little now” thinking.
