You didn’t miss much with Waiting for Godot, Scott.
Friend just emailed me saying he had seven reserved tickets to the first showing of the movie that shall not be named. Saw the first Star Wars as a 10 year old in a theater and I told him Hard Pass on seeing the movie. No interest in supporting Disney or the bunch of lunatics that have been making this latest pieces of trash. I know you don’t like boycott’s, but I hope to hell that the Boycott is Strong in this One.
Today’s culture is all about being upvoted by people you don’t know, who really don’t care to know you in any depth and who you never will know.

Scott – New Amsterdam is on my list of shows to binge watch once they get a few seasons streaming.
Backlist was great, but the long break in getting episodes to streaming got me out of it. Though I did like Tom’s character. That was a good show for the 5 seasons I watched.
That was one where it was my wife saying, let’s just watch one more, when we had to get up in the morning. So you know if was good.
Want some examples of extraordinarily strong and capable women — Maggie Thatcher – Golda Meir – Clementine Churchill – Eleanor Roosevelt and the list goes on…. modern feminists don’t hold a candle !! just sayin’ — Great show guys. Really enjoyed it – JS —
Love the move towards podcasts. I have business associates that listen to conservative podcasts with me when we are in my car on business trips. Would love to add Right Angle & Bill Whittle Now to my iTunes list…although laughing hysterically during the backstage episode would likely cause me to drive off the road…that wouldn’t be good. The backstage itself is worth the price of membership.
Google’s podcast app now has the Bill Whittle Network podcast, which currently features only Bill Whittle Now, but will soon include Right Angle as well. Then, I’ll work on getting it live on Apple Podcasts. Oddly enough, I can’t find the podcast yet on the Google Play Music app under the podcasts tab, just the freestanding Google Podcasts app.
I agree with Steve. Presumed Innocent was a really good book that translated superbly onto the big screen. All of the actors were believable and kept the tension high. I have it on my computer and watch it now and then.
I almost killed Laura Dern’s mom once. True story.
I hope it wasn’t before Laura was born.
What a coincidence! I once built a T-600 version of Fluffy Goat and sent it back in time & kill Laura Dern’s mom to prevent The Last Jedi from being made. Since the movie still exists, I’m guessing that my effort failed. Back to the drawing board – maybe I’ll try the T-1000 Fluffy Goat this time
Sure. It’s fantastical but it’s true. Diane Ladd. That’s her name.
Naw. this was well after Jurassic Park.
The way she looks, might be ….. just sayin’..
Thing about Ripley in Alien, in 1978, she was a secondary character, like Cartwright or Kotto. Then Dallas got killed, whoa! And Ripley is unexpectedly thrust into the hero role. That was a little story telling twist, like Bobby in the shower, you just can’t do anymore.
To Scotts quip re: Rey bailing on saving the universe… I always wanted to see that ep of NextGen where Picard has to thread the needle between saving the alien culture or saving the Enterprise… and then just screws the pooch spectacularly.
Star Wars, like Star Trek, is dead to me.
I’m thinking of getting the 7 day free trial to cbs all access so I can binge STD just to see how cringe it is. They haven’t made a good movie since First Contact or a watchable series since the flawed but decent Enterprise. And now CBS is doing everything it can to kill Axanar because some fans have the audacity to produce a Trek that doesn’t s*ck.
If you’re willing to take a bullet for the team, please give us all the gory details about STD.
Just like my evening with the Clintons (see my comment on today’s Hillary post), I fully intend to get a good blog post out of sitting through that drek!
Brother Bob – doing the things that regular BWdotCom members won’t. We thank ye for it.
McDeath!
Though the way I heard it, you can’t say it in a theatre. But I did theatre in LA so it doesn’t really count.
Is it important to be famous? Or to be IN famous?
Huh. Turns out you can’t post pictures here. Bummer.

Just get the image link from the interwebs, and paste it in your comment on its own line.
But whadda I do if it’s my own pic? Upload to Google drive and use that link?
Not sure if that will work, but it would have to be online somewhere. Worth a try.
OK. let’s try this… It’s my entry way w/ Gomez, Morticia and Thing.

The link worked, but it didn’t drop the picture into the comment…
Love the painted fingernail’d hand!! Great keyring holder.
The new Adams Family movie is an abomination.
38min! THATS what i’m talkin’ about.
A fine rendition. Always like when they break that magical 30 minute barrier. Always means that they go far a stream of actual topics.
Right Angle of some form or other, has been my morning show for, like, 15yrs.
Once again, I have laughed heartily about the backstage episode. It alone makes my subscription worth it.
Not having seen the Star Wars trailer yet I did hear a news item that pre-sales of the opening day tickets are the highest ever so far. I wonder if that is just a stat that means nothing, based on which theaters are pre-selling tickets that did not for the last Avengers movie (mentioned as the prior top seller) or some other indication that people want to get a ticket early just to get the trilogy trilogy watched and done.
They were probably bought by the studio to build hype. They had to do the same with Captain Marvel
Yes. So many tales of sold out shows with many empty seats.
Scott, see Moon Over Parador. It’s a charming movie with Raul Julia and Richard Dreyfus. I’m pretty sure you’ll like it.
(You shouldn’t look around and find it for free on the internet, with no registration required.)
The sincere silliness and fond reminiscence in the back stage episodes have made me glad that I have become a member. I just have to take care watching it while others in the house are sleeping lest I wake them with my bursts of laughter.
