Tell us something about yourself and how you heard of Bill, Scott and Steve

I sent a note to Scott a few days ago telling about how I learned of Bill et. al. and thought that I’d share with them just a bit about myself too.

Scott graciously received my comments and he thought that it would make a fun blog posting.  So, I am posting my thoughts and am hoping that you also share a bit about how you got to billwhittle.com and a bit about yourself.

To Scott and Team:

I want to take a moment at Christmas to let you know how much y’all mean to me over here in Minnesota.  (Just 10 miles south of Dave BigBoote.)  I was on Youtube last Saturday and I stumbled upon your last Trifecta and was touched by it as it talked about the connection between you three and your audience.  The odd thing about it is that I never watched a Trifecta, I heard of Bill because I was depressed after the 2012 election and needed a pick-me-up and stumbled upon his post-election speech “Best Speech of 2012.”  I thought that it was great and I was hooked.  I then started listening to The Stratosphere Lounge (r/K!  I’ve also listened to his John Boyd discussion about 12 times!) and I saw Bill live in Minnesota in 2013 and also in 2016 at the University of Minnesota.  (Bill *may* remember that I asked him to do a quick  “shout out” video to Cheryl Twomey – it was fun and Cheryl loved it, but I digress.)  I believe that Bill announced the changes at PJTV on a Stratosphere Lounge and that introduced me to the new “Right Angle” and I’ve been listening ever since.

I am a humble, but loyal billwhittle.com member for about 4 years and I just want you to know that you and your insight really mean a lot to me.  I especially enjoy the Backstage show and of course TSL.  It’s kinda weird to think about, but your voices are in my headsets more than just about anyone and I do feel like we’re in this battle together, as Bill says “the left lets that ball of freedom roll down the hill every day and it is our job, our privilege, to roll it back up the hill every day.”  I most often listen on weeknights while cooking dinner for Cutie Pie, the love of my life for 42 years, or on Saturdays while cooking, cleaning, doing yard work or walking.

Just for fun, here’s a little bit about me:

–  I worked in IT in the corporate world for 38 years, 17 of which were at IBM.

– I now have the privilege, (for about 1/4 the pay!) to be semi-retired and work in Development for an incredible Classical and Christian K-12 school called Liberty Classical Academy.  My two grandkids attend there as well and I get to see them in the hallways every day – a true blessing.

– Our school is very much like Hillsdale, but K-12.  (In fact, one of our headmaster’s sons went to Hillsdale as well as one of our teachers.)  The whole Classical model is really amazing – it’s what was used for hundreds of years before the progressives got their hands on education about 130 years ago.  It’s the education that Lincoln, Einstein and your grandparents had.  If interested, here is a TEDx talk that our headmaster gave about classical education.  Our kids learn public speaking from kindergarten on and have to write both a Junior and Senior Thesis.  Classical education understands the capabilities of students at each age and draws them through the Grammar, Logic and Rhetoric stages.  Just for fun here is one of our amazing eight graders presenting “Give Me Liberty, Give Me Death” by Patrick Henry.  We say the pledge every day, pray, and learn Shakespeare and other classical literature AND the constitution!

Anyway, thanks for listening to a bit about me, I know quite a bit about you three so thought it would be fun for you to learn about me, one of your many loyal listeners.

I hope that you and yours have a great Christmas, thank YOU for all that you do for me (and America!)

The memory is lost in the mists of the past. Before billwhittle.com, before Declaration Entertainment, before pjtv, before Ejectia, in the olden times, when giants walked the internet.
