Right Angle: Backstage (01-21-20)

The men of Right Angle — Bill Whittle, Scott Ott and Stephen Green — shaken to the core by the breakup of the British monarchy, nevertheless soldier on to meet this week’s contractual obligation to produce four more episodes of the show…plus this quasi-content product we call Backstage.

You want to come on a Caribbean cruise with Bill, Scott, Stephen and a lot of fun people like yourself? It’s real. It’s happening, and it’s filling up fast. Learn more and book your cabin quickly.

Once again I am reminded of what a privilege it is to be able to help support genuinely fine people doing good work. I hope the member in distress reads this and knows how many of us are praying for him and his family.

“When we talk about ‘gulags,’ we’re not thinking Soviet-type gulags. We’re thinking ‘Democratic gulags.'”

Overheard at Sanders campaign meeting…probably.

I appreciate the way the member with health problems was handled. I guess that is why “compassion” come just before “conservative” in the dictionary.

RE: the member who got the devastating news of cancer and the ‘life/death’ sentence. I’m there for you! I’ll pray for you – even if I don’t have your name.
I had cancer (or the doctors detected it) about 8 years ago, attempted (this is my own story, not advocating for anyone else) to ‘get rid’ of it via natural medicine, spent a lot of time and money and adjusting life style, etc, etc… finally had surgery about 2 years ago to remove tumor, and now am theoretically cancer free (because the doctor’s can’t ‘find’ any).
All this to say, I know where you’re coming from guy, I’ve been there, cancer is a scary life and death and all points in between situation. Really is a wake-up call to start to deal with whatever life you have left.
I will pray for you, I know others in the Bill-o-Sphere will be praying for you, however they term it, however they think about it, know that you are thought about.
Ironically, I have had the very recent encounter with the power of prayer. My nephew had a very severe accident (details immaterial), so I was recruited to pray for him, at a certain time of day. Well, to be efficient, I started thinking of all the other people I also needed to pray for, and my mental list started growing, to the point that I needed to write them down. I also found that I for this specific set of prayers I needed to be on my knees (creak!), because that helped me to focus my thoughts. Otherwise, I would fall asleep or lose my train of thought and have to start over again… Well, within only a couple of days, I started to receive the beginnings of answers to my prayers, the inklings of where God was going with this or that person’s situation.
When things become conscious, they become more readily apparent.
Thanks, Bill & Webmaster, for providing this forum in the Internet space for us to somewhat privately share our inner thoughts!

A couple of things:

First, to the member you mentioned with the cancer diagnosis. My prayers will be with you every day. I got a cancer diagnosis a few months ago. Although my prognosis is much brighter than yours, it has really had an impact on how I look at life. Hang in there – the bad guy may not win!

Second, Steve: Would you be willing to part with your spicy jerky recipe??? ;-D

Of course Bernie doesn’t want to win. 1) He’s a senator for life. 2) Running increases his book sale profits and keeps him a millionaire. 3) If he won, either his policies would never be enacted, or if they were, they would fail spectacularly. Either way, you are a failed president out of the gate.

I was able to see the video embedded even though I wasn’t logged in here, at least it’s unlisted on youtube so people would be unlikely to stumble on it. 😉

Couple of religious jokes I like:

Why do you take two Baptist’s fishing with you?

Because if you take one, he’ll drink all your beer!

What do you get when you cross a Jehovah’s Witness and a Unitarian?

Someone who knocks on doors for no reason!

Fun stuff.

I’ve always been under the impression that leftists have no sense of humor, or it’s been frowned out of them!

Bernie fails to condemn the gulag-promoting man ….

Are you certain that that senile old coot is even aware of the fools spouting such tyrannical agenda items? Even if Bernie knows, if he never acknowledges them, then he can at least claim ignorance after the fact.

With how quick the media slavering dogs are to pounce on any Republican with questions about their support for some other potential Republican, if Bernie doesn’t know by now it would only be because no one asked him yet. That’s as much an indictment of the media as him though.

Bill, this is really minor, but what’s up with not combing your hair for the vids anymore? Even Sister Babe (who makes an effort to ignore any videos I watch) noticed this. I only say this given how much, back in the founding of The Common Sense Resistance, that you “wanted to make Conservatism sexy”, citing how George Washington made sure to be the sharpest dressed man anywhere, designing a logo with slick looking people, etc.
Yeah, this is small, but it one step on the road to 20 years from now being our side’s version of Bernie Sanders. Only not being stupid, lazy, amoral – you get the idea

Ah contrare! (my attempt at French)… women love that little boy look, that “I need someone to take care of me” thing…
Although I don’t know what will attract the millennial snowflakes except for enthusiasm, which Bill has in abundance.

I dearly love the Backstage episodes and I dearly love all three of you fine gentlemen. I’ve also had health issues, cancer which was surgically removed, and I still made it a priority to keep my membership going. The reason is not only that I think what you do is important, but it’s also that you three have helped me get through the bad times. I thank the good Lord daily for you all and hope you’ll continue to be there for me through all the times to come, whether good or bad. God bless each of you and your families.
