Thomas P. Edsall, an op-ed writer for The New York Times, marvels why President Trump survives in office, and concludes it’s because “voters are less tolerant, less empathetic and less insistent on integrity than many believe.” He interviews a number of experts to prove he’s right.

Pardon me for being someone with some scientific training, and needed to do the maths, but if we somehow managed to burn every ounce of “fossil fuels,” then we would only be able to get CO2 levels up to where they once were already?

I once went to an Independence Day get together with my Mustang (yes, the car) club in Georgia. There were about 15-20 people there. Included were about 5 women, three Hispanics, two “African Americans” (Gawd I hate that term!), two Asians, and one person who was transgender and half Asian. These were the types of people who did, and will vote for, Donald Trump.

Perhaps only half of them went to college, but when I hear about college participation statistics, I always wonder about how many college grads go into those statistics with the most absolute junk degrees that would not have been thought of 20-50 years ago.

Next time Jim Acosta complains that PDT goes around the media and that “we are real news” I would love to hear PDT say something to this effect: You know, Jim, for most of this countries more than 2 centuries; if someone wanted to communicate to the entire country; the most efficient way was through the news media. Then in the 30s, FDR started talking directly by radio, but only if the media carried it. Then TV, but again only if the media played the tape. We needed a 4th estate to get our messages to the citizens. But now, Jim, we don’t need you to get the message out. I have a phone and can talk to the citizens without your editing or spin.

So, was it just me or did Bill almost launch into an r/k monologue towards the end? If he had traffic and weather would have been put off for at least thirty minutes. 😉

I have a large, framed copy of that New Yorker magazine cover in my office. I was born in the Bronx and grew up in Westchester County. That cover reminds me of the mentality of the people from where I came and serves to keep me humble. I choose to live in a cleaner, nicer, safer area of the country. We have great places to eat, a wonderful Symphony (with whom I get to sing) minor league sports that we can afford to go to and my yearly taxes are what people pay monthly in the house in which I grew up.
Wouldn’t trade it at all.

Bill, I really appreciate your contempt for urbanites sucking the teat of socialism. The “big Tent” “diversity” and “tolerance” goal that “Edsel” believes in would have God and Satan sharing power equally.

The only thing that can stem the tide of societal collapse is God. God sent a strong delusion on the people so “that they should believe a lie.” Humanity is powerless to see the Truth unless the Holy Spirit makes the scales fall from their eyes. Nothing else can prevent Satan from having his way.

As someone who grew up in Brooklyn and have lived in the suburbs for 45 years, believe me, we hate those people too. We have to go to Manhattan occasionally and we also have to go to the dentist occasionally , we feel the same about both. The funny thing is, I would hazard a guess that those writers are not from New York City at all. More than likely they grew up in a suburban or a midwestern paradise and hated it. They couldn’t wait to shake the dust of America off their feet and get to the liberal promised land of the planet Manhattan.

I am afraid I don’t what the arguement is. Of course we don’t demand integrity. How else did people like most of the current members of the congress get elected?

There is not enough money on earth that could convince me to move to, live, and work in New York City. I would rather live, just scraping by, in a small rural Midwestern town than live free in the most extravagantly provisioned penthouse apartment there. I view it as worse than living in Hell for an eternity!

It is not so much a problem with being interested it ideas (an intellectual), it is that the ideas are held to be true without connection with reality. Because of this, the truth of those ideas are presumed NOT to require proof or demonstration and must be implemented immediately even if use of lethal force is necessary to do so.

Hence, the disconnected intellectual believes he has the right and the power to implement his ideas without restriction. Especially and particularly, he is not to be blamed for the consequences. If when the ideas don’t work (they can’t), it is not because the ideas are bad, it is because his victims are (fill in the blank) and won’t cooperate with the brilliance of the ideas. This is followed by the elimination of the “deniers”, mass graves, and a totalitarian dictatorial state which inevitably fails catastrophically.

There is more integrity in Trump’s little finger than ALL of the progressive/regressive/new age/postmodernist so called professional Democrats have in their entire collective. Trump is Trump without apology. Take it or leave it but what you see is what you get. If he says he will do something, he will move heaven, hell, earth, the Republican party and the Democratic party to make it happen.

The Democratic collective cannot expose who and what they are for fear they will be rejected by their thralls. What are they? They are what they accuse Trump of being.

What are they? They are what they accuse Trump of being.

That is a universal constant…
