Bernie Sanders Claims He’s a Better Sort of Socialist than Donald Trump

Bernie Sanders admits to Fox News’ Chris Wallace that he’s a socialist, but so is Donald Trump. However, Bernie’s socialism benefits the working man, and Trump’s socialism only helps billionaires. Are corporate tax breaks, corporate welfare, and legal tax-dodging deals just another way of redistributing the wealth — robbing the poor to give to the rich?

Of course Bernie says he’s for “Democratic Socialism”. What he may actually mean is that the Democrats control the entire economy, but there is a form of “Democratic Socialism” that I support.

In Socialism, the people control the means of production. I think a Democratic form would be one where the people vote on how the means of production are managed. So if someone owns a grocery store, the people vote on what will be stocked, and how much it will sell for. They vote with their dollars and their feet. If they like some items that are in stock, they bring their dollars to buy those items. If they don’t like how a particular store is operated, they go to a different store that they like better.
And rather than restricting their voting to one day ever year or two, under “Democratic Socialism”, the people cast their votes constantly, day in and day out. They can vote as many times as they want, as often as they want, and cast as many votes at one time as they want.
Of course, another term for “Democratic Socialism” is “Capitalism”.

And Bernie himself admits this. He wants the US to be more like Sweden, which is a capitalist economy, and its leaders make that point regularly and loudly.

Honey, Bernie voters don’t believe in income equality; they say they do so they can appear to themselves and others to be noble. They’re just after free stuff, and if it brings down someone above them who has worked hard, even better.
Now to me what they profess is not noble. It’s disgusting and the basis of all the evil in the world.
Any Rand taught that the only thing worse than professing to be altruistic is to actually be altruistic. Right, Steve?😁

One nit to pick with Bill’s response to Scott’s loaf of bread analogy: The response needs to include WE ARE BAKING A MUCH LARGER LOAF OF BREAD! Everybody gets more!

Absolutely brilliant, Bill: succinct, clear examples, no high-sounding verbiage. Plus you made it very personal as to how the listener could prove their commitment to the socialist ideology. It shoots the politics of envy in the solar plexus.
