StratoCruise Update: Still On

If you’re booked on our StratoCruise 2020, May 15-18, you already received this email. On the off-chance you missed it, here’s a note from our travel agent with a status update as of March 25, 2020. 

As many of you may have heard, Royal Caribbean has extended their “Pause” in operations until May 12, 2020. I spoke to the cruise line today to clarify what is happening and why.

Throughout this ordeal NONE of RCCL’s ship had infected crew or passengers. Despite that, they have sanitized their entire fleet and continue to maintain a high level of cleanliness and have limited exposure of many public areas on the ships to even the crew. While the ships and crew are ready to start sailing again, the ports that the ships cruise to are not. Nearly all Caribbean ports/islands are closed to visitors for a 30 day quarantine. Unfortunately this 30 day closure didn’t start happening until this week which made the original return to operations date of March 12th unrealistic, as there would be nowhere to sail to. This is a fluid situation and is being evaluated daily but at this time, our May 15th sailing is still set to go on as planned. I am sure this will be a much needed break from the local lockdowns everyone has experienced in one way or another.  

I am aware of many airlines canceling flights and changing routes. If you experience any changes that affect your travel to or from the ship, please let me know and we will assist in making the changes needed to get you to this event, even if we did not book it for you.
