Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden tells KDKA radio that former First Lady Michelle Obama is ‘brilliant’ and ‘a really fine woman’ and if she’d be his running mate, ‘I’d take her in a heartbeat.’ Would the former-FLOTUS Veep pick shake up the race?

Note to the DNC. Macbeth is a play, not a playbook.
Watching this episode has put a frightful question into my head, so I would like to put it out in the open.
Preface: While I enjoy the idea of Sleepy Joe losing bad in November, I Refuse to wish any harm on the man; may he remain safe and healthy.
Sleepy Joe is in bad shape and it is heartbreaking what is being done to him.
Serious questions:
What happens if the strain that debating Trump will definitely bring causes Sleepy Joe to have a major stroke or heart attack?
What does it do to the entire election if the front-runner of the Democrat party becomes physically unable to continue the campaign during a late-stage debate?
Does this mean that the entire presidential election has to be postponed to basically redo the Democrat primaries, or does it mean the DNC can appoint someone else?
There is no doubt that a presidential debate will increase blood pressure and stress; and that increased blood pressure and stress is scientifically shown to increase the possibility of heart attack and stroke in those who are at risk of such events. The upcoming presidential debates will challenge Sleepy Joe physically and mentally in a very real way.
All I can see in my mind’s eye is Sleepy Joe being utterly humiliated and completely flustered as he gaffes away and Trump mops the floor with him. I see his heat rate, temperature, and blood pressure all increase as a physical response to the humiliation he will suffer; and I can’t help but wonder if he has the physical constitution to endure the strain it will take on his body.
I really pray I’m totally wrong and Sleepy Joe will be just fine. Humiliated; but just fine.
I’ve never understood the idea of Michelle Obama going into politics. Is this supposed to be a comparison Hillary Clinton? Because H. Clinton seemed like a political animal from the start.
Agree, in my opinion, HC wanted to be “in the game” from her start in the mid 1970’s with BC. HC is a power junkie who gets off on having power over people more is better no limit. Many have written books about the way she treats people who work for her and others in her circle. Remember her comments on the death of Muammar Gaddafi? “We came, we saw, he died” and laughing as if to saw she had life and death power and showed him.
Obviously MO has the same BHO charisma wave and democrat cult like love to ride in on but, I don’t see her lust for BIG power, she like bossing around, demeaning and getting her way the servants and Secret Service but HC’s lust for power and control is whole other level. I may be wrong but I don’t think MO wants the aggravation.
Joe Biden will “never” find a Sarah Palin type whose mere presence would be the Defibrillator that shocks life back into his campaign. Neva hapin.
Why would Michelle want the extra headaches? They’re relatively young and enjoy a lot more power behind the scenes. Kamala will be the nominee, since she was the choice of the Clintonistas until Tulsi exposed her glass jaw. She’ll be a perfect match, since focus on Joe’s dementia will suck up the oxygen of all of her flaws.
Or maybe they save her for 2024 to run against against Cruz?
I don’t think Barack is too pleased with a Biden run for President. I think he fears that Biden will be investigated into oblivion, exposing corruption charges leading to the Obama Oval office. Michelle would only exacerbate this.
Snopes.com reports that “Michelle Obama did not “voluntarily surrender” her law license; she requested that her license be placed on “inactive” status. The difference is crucial: a lawyer who has surrendered his law license has given it up and therefore no longer has a license, while a lawyer who has gone on inactive status still holds a valid law license but is not currently engaged in any professional activities that require it to be active.”
So that just proves that records have been changed. I appreciate what you say, but I read it with my own eye
Why listen to Snopes.com? I have found them to be wrong numerous times and always leaning far to the Left.
I use several sources to validate items I hear. In this case, Snopes said it most succinctly. I am not endorsing them but it seemed to be the consensus from other sources.
Bill, you do NOT OWE AN APOLOGY. Technically she surrendered her license, but only to avoid certain revocation. We made that deal with dentists a few times
Fact-check.org is WRONG. I researched this years ago. The Illinois bar was undergoing proceedings to revoke Michele’s law license. By surrendering her license voluntarily she was able to keep the proceedings and the reasons for the revocation private and the records sealed. I found this info on the bar associations website. My statement is based on first person research, not speculation. This other stuff is bullshit.
By the way, I sat on my state’s dental board for 10 years, and the board moved for revocation only in very serious circumstances. She did something significant . I hope it will come out if she ever seeks public office, as it is in the public record.
Unless it has been removed by powerful people, but I swear I saw it myself in 2008
If you have a date for it, try looking in the back of the Illinois Bar Journal (which presumably reports disciplinary proceedings and dispositions) for that period. You may have to find physical copies in a law library somewhere.
From what I have experienced, using Fact Check is double plus ungood. Michelle Obama was apparently hired to encourage inner city low income residents to go to other facilities. Her $300,000.00 salary and the Obama name was part of an ad campaign to steer poorer inner city people away from the hospital where she worked. The hospital wanted to keep higher income people as their main revenue source. So much has been covered up about the obamas, it’s simply outrageous.
Barbara, is there a fact-checking organization/website that you trust?
Scott, simply, NOPE. I was a participant in 3 online grand juries involving BHO. Not one judge would rule for discovery of what we had found. What we researched and found out about BHO was massively covered up by those in power and in the media at that time. To keep informed I read on several conservative sites every day now. I just don’t trust how easy it is to manipulate and skew what is the truth. Thanks for asking.
In effect this means that there’s nothing anyone can say to counter any accusations, which can be levied with impunity.
For example, if you visit the Illinois Bar Association website, you’ll see that the Obama’s are listed as honorary members, a status unlikely for someone disbarred. The state’s Supreme Court site shows that Michelle voluntarily chose ‘inactive’ status for her extant license as a non-practicing lawyer, and there are no disciplinary issues on her record. Use the Lawyer Search feature of the website. For contrast, search the record of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
However, if one pre-conceives a conspiracy to cover up deleterious information, then we are at an impasse and left with speculation to fill the void.
I’m not left with speculation, I am left with certainty. Powerful people are never held to the same standards.
And as an example, when I protested an action my board was taking because it exceeded the boards legal authority, the next month some one made a motion which passed to take my comments out of the record. So, I’m not surprised.
If there is no way to hold any powerful person to account, then our entire system of government collapses. And if anyone can make an undocumented accusation against anyone else, with the proof resting on the lack of evidence, then our entire system of justice collapses. Large conspiracies are virtually impossible to maintain. Someone always leaks. The accusation that Michelle Obama was disbarred is demonstrably false, but if you can’t trust the state Supreme Court to tell the truth about that, it’s time to move to the woods and stockpile Ramen and ammo.
Scott, she was not disbarred, she did a voluntary surrender. Yes, someone “important” can be held to account, but only if someone or some organization equally powerful is willing to expend significant effort, money, and time to bring them to account. I agree with what you say in principle, but the truth is that Hillary is still walking around free, rich and powerful.
And I understand that the Supreme Court of Illinois and the Bar Association disputes what I say, but I know what I read, and I had the background and experience to understand what I was reading.
I think that the USA is more fair and just than any system in mankind’s history, but nothing is 100% perfect. I really don’t give a crap about Michelle, I just wanted Bill to know he wasn’t wrong.
Kudos to you both! No, it’s not time to pack up and go away.
Sorry to be stubborn, Scott. Like the beard, by the way
Thanks, Emma.
In my opinion it really does not matter who he picks. With the current state of the United States and world economy (after Covid-19) I believe that people (all political persuasions) KNOW deep down if they really want the economy and their jobs back they there is not a democrat alive that will be able to bring things back. The crappy little jabs and fights going on in politics and media continue to show people how broken the democrats are. Trump is the ONLY one who even has a chance to bring it back and he will probably figure out a way to make it stronger.
I have yet to watch this video, because its headline is too much of a bloody nightmare. I keep pinching myself to ensure I’m already awake. Unfortunately, I am. Now I must listen as much as I dare. I just hope Scott’s simulated sniping is at a minimum this morning.
Nope. Too much bickering, and I have gained nothing with the exchange halfway through. Sorry guys; I gotta shut it down.
