I think the reason the Constitution doesn’t have any mention of “emergency powers” is because the Founding Fathers knew that the concept of “emergency” is interpreted differently by everyone. Sure, I understand there are definitely situations where things like a foreign invasion could constitute as an emergency, but even then, the Founding Fathers knew it was important that the people must still enjoy the freedoms protected by the Constitution, even in an “emergency”. Once you have a constitutional amendment, you are binding the legal and governmental systems to what the constitution says (i.e. income tax, the reason why I have to pay income tax is because the constitution says so, and therefore I can’t sue the federal government for taking my income away). Same thing, if a Governor declares some “emergency”, and forces me to close my business and stay home, I can’t sue the Governor or state government because the constitution protects the right of declaring an “emergency”. I understand the want for codifying what exactly an emergency is, but I think that opens a Pandora’s box of legal and governmental issues on what exactly constitutes an “emergency”. I would much rather have a scenario where I at least can sue a Governor or government for infringing on my rights, which I hope happens in the coming months, and then we take them out of office come November. Just my thoughts! Please keep these videos coming Bill!

Very much agree that an emergency declaration must be sundowned after a maximum of 10 days, and each legislative reimposition must be sundowned after 10 days.

Once could argue that this could be a federal law even without an amendment defining an emergency.

Unless the emergency has to do with foreign invasion, forget about it. I don’t agree with any of this lock down nonsense. We capitulated to elected officials. In other words, we gave up our right to assemble. Even if the forecast numbers were correct, the people have a right to make the decision for themselves, just like the citizenry did back in 1968 and 1957.

In the year 2020, we caved, went home, and curled up in the fetal position because the galaxy brains in “gubmint” said so. Unbelievable!

I’m capable of doing my own risk assessment, at the same time, take the safety of my fellow citizens into consideration. You don’t kill the economic engine of the country, rather, you stand and drive through the problem.

Our beloved governor has stated that eating establishments should take names, phone numbers, and addresses of those that eat on site. “COVID19 tracking” requires tracking free private citizens, it turns out.
I’m not cooperating.

Haha! I might have to take you up on that…with some adjustments to the name. Hugh Jaenus?
