Texas Democrat Rep. Sylvia Garcia introduces HR 7505, a resolution aimed to stop President Trump before he nukes a hurricane, or uses any strategic weapon — not merely thermonuclear explosions — to alter weather patterns or affect the climate. You pay Rep. Garcia $174,000/year for her serious work.

The NEW Democratic Socialist (OXYMORON) with ever GREATER emphasis on MORON is now most definitely ventured into the IDIOT category and completely jumped over Neurotic into a deep state of Psychosis Party. The Party has finally lost their handle on SANITY. The Party of INSANITY is even becoming MORE INSANE in word and deed proves EVERY day that “Stupid is STUPID.’
I would contend that as the Party of INSANITY and ANTI-Americanism gleefully adopted IDENTITY Politics, they “jumped the shark” and have backed themselves in an inescapable corner of “Ignorance is NEVER an excuse for STUPIDITY. The party of INSANITY and THE IDEOLOGY cemented into the “fundamental transformation of America have nowhere to go other than using the LIE, DECEIT, DISTORTION, MISINFORMATION and OMISSION. Their commitment to A myopic, delusional, corrupt and very destructive Utopian vision where the “true believer” can and will manufacture through THE IDEOLOGY Paradise on Earth. Both George Orwell in 1984 and Alodus Huxley in Brave New World explicitly showed through the printed word exactly what Utopia looks like. It is called DYSTOPIA.
Reality NEVER exists for the “true believer” when Reality refuses to accept THE IDEOLOGY and the “fundamental transformation of America”. Therefore, an Alternative Reality MUST be manufactured that acts just like an echo chamber reinforcing on a 24/Loop the Collectivist mindset.
America is being torn Apart by “fundamental transformAtion. The enemy is no longer EXTERNAL storming the Gates for entry. It now is INTERNAL walking freely amongst us with THE Intent and Purpose to destroy the vision of the Founders and Framers and reshape America and We, the People in its IMAGE,
There is no Rubicon that will not be crossed nor Red Line that will not be stepped over. There NEVER can be Compromise BUT intimation and coercion are ALWAYS readily available for use.
The fracture is growing and getting too close to the ABYSS. It should NEVER be forgotten the words spoken by Ben Franklin when asked whatb type of government do we have, a Monarch or a Republic. He replied, “A Republic if we can keep it.”
As the senator or congressman stated a few years back, I don’t remember their name…Jones…Johnson..? The folks on the east coast could begin a mass migration to the west coast until the edge of the continent started to rise (because of the weight distribution imbalance you see). As the continent began to tilt it would be a natural barrier to the hurricane! When the threat was over they could return to their homes still intact! Minus a few broken dishes that may have fallen off tables…small price to pay IMHO.
Not a bill but a resolution, so about as effective as a weakly-worded letter to the UN.
The correct reference is H.R. 7075. (It took me a while to find it in the legislative database.)
In her press release, she stated that this was part of a bill about hurricane preparedness. But I can’t find a bill about hurricane preparedness, only this resolution (which appears to be classified as a bill in the database).
https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/7075/
The full text of the bill is not in the database, only the title.
Steve, how do you keep a straight face while using so many multiple syllable words?
Trump raised the issue as bait for the loony left and the conspiracy theory crowd. A lot of interesting people took the bait. meanwhile whats the odds they have even read H.Res.995, H.Res.76, or H.Res 6168, etc. I doubt it.
The Republicans have learned the art of leaving out of the title and summary things that will have whole books on them in the future but were only one line clauses or tiny footnotes in the legislation.
I can’t find anything juicy in these three but it’s fun looking.
I think you guys missed the import of the insidious phrase in the resolution: “…and other purposes.” Could mean preventing *all* uses of nukes.
Then again, given the level of intelligence at work here, could also mean “use against carrots.”
I had to look it, but it was in March of 2010 that Representative Hank Johnson, a Democrat from Lithonia, Georgia, asked about Guam capsizing.
Surely, it’s not all of us paying her salary (I hope). It’s just the people in her district (not all idiots, just a majority of them) that are paying.
I believe her pay comes from the federal government, so yes, we all pay for her. Kinda dilutes what we pay for the competent representatives… which might be about half of them.
I’m of a mind that Cindy Garcia and “thinking” are complete strangers.
I have a slightly different take on this one.
Let’s give this woman and AOC and the other less than serious Members of Congress 1000s of more ideas like this on which they can spend their time. It will keep them from doing real damage like passing legislation.
Can we also give them a 24/7 live stream?
This and other methods have been studied since at least the 70s.
The reason we did not do it was because of the massive energy contained in the storm.
So, Alpha-Omega or the Deathstar?
So a thermonuclear device detonated above the storm would create a vacuum, lowering the temperature, and reducing the storm’s power.
Basic heat transfer.
The scary part is that when I was younger I could actually model this type of thing and we would have had discussions like this over beer.
Thank you, Scott for bringing us some much-appreciated levity to combat all the horror, doom and gloom we are seeing on the national news. And to Steve and Bill for playing along with snarky proficiency.
Sounds like a Bond flick script.
A bad one – so, like a recent one.
I thought Casino was excellent. And Skyfall was pretty OK. SPECTER was average w/ some really dumb stuff in it. And Quantum coulda been better.

This is media attention, Mistah Bond. I have accumulated it all
of my life…
Sounds more like the villainous plot of one of the bad 007 knockoffs that popped up in the 60s. Staring James Colburn or Dean Martin.
Nuke COVID19…Looking forward to a nuclear flu season.
Too bad. its not like Gorebull Warmening and we could just give the gvernment monies to make it go away.
So very true. I thought that I heard Al slip up and predict that if global warming continued that his beach front property could be knee deep in stolen revenue.
Polar bears wept.
You know, even though he apparently denied making the comment about nuking a hurricane, I still think that it is possible that he said it, and I would be glad if he did, because that is the kind of out of the box thinking that solves problems, and one of the reasons that we sent him there. Case in point, we are so horrified by the thought of nuclear war and the associated weapons, that nobody in DC, or anywhere else, would dare verbalize the idea. Granted, I think that, based on my basic knowledge of science, that it wouldn’t work, but what if it would? Has anybody with the scientific knowledge actually thought seriously about it, without confirmation bias. All we need is one ‘hairbrained’ idea to work, and we make significant progress. Maybe we should get Elon Musk to run in 2024, after he moves to Texas, and gets us to Mars!
Can’t, he was born in South Africa.
True. But he could run for senate, representative or governor
Musk is not really on Team Red. He thinks “basic universal income” or whatever they call it is a good idea. He buys into quite a bit of loony leftist stuff.
I don’t know if I’d have moved to Texas last year if I’d know there was a district in the state that thought it was a good idea to elect this woman. I came from CA, and this woman could give Congressmen there a run for their money.
I’m In CA and here, she would be normal. Soooo many crazies in each square mile.
I got to vote against Maxine Waters once. That was fun.
We’ve had Sheila Jackson Lee for a long while now. They can make ‘em pretty stupid in Houston.
Used to live with a girl from Houston and I can verify that statement. Stupid *and* evil.
I’m from Houston. But haven’t been back since ‘93
