According to a piece by Edward Isaac Dovere in TheAtlantic.com, Joe Biden hates to fake a debate for preparation, and Donald Trump just refuses to prep. The first presidential debate of the 2020 election brings a clash of two vastly different styles, and set of quirks. Gear up for Tuesday night’s donnybrook with Scott Ott, Stephen Green, and Bill Whittle on this episode of Right Angle.

Thanks, guys. So good!
I laughed out loud at least three times during this episode. I think that’s a record.
anyone know if you have to be a VIP member at PJ to catch Steve’s drunk-blog live with the other PJ folks?
Ralph, you do not. I’ve enjoyed each and every one of Steve’s drunk blogging the primary debates and I’m not a PJ Media member. If you go to the pjmedia.com website shortly before the debate starts, there should be a link from their front page.
Thanks, Brian. Going to enjoy it. Though I won’t try to keep up with Steve. Maybe we should open a thread here at BWdotCom where we can comment with each other.
That’s a good idea about having a thread on here to discuss Steve’s drunk blogging.
I’d take you up on it but I have company coming over to watch the debates. With popcorn and my bar is open (private bar in my man cave, sign over bar says “Marines Drink Free”, cigars are optional but encouraged). I wouldn’t want to miss one second of Donald Trump flaying Joe in front of the nation and my buddies and I can’t wait to relish every moment of Joe’s discomfort and bumbling, mumbling, stumbling self destruction …
Or not. We’ll see how it goes.
Either way, I have to entertain my company or I’d be there on that thread with you.
I will be sitting outside with cigar and bourbon. Should be fun!
I said this in the Joe No Go episode but it bears repeating:
Stephen Green, For Cryin’ Out Loud Man! Turn the Camera ON, and DrunkCast the freaking debates! I don’t care if you bury the recording behind the paywall of “that other network” , but instead, I’d hope you would make it a special Bill Whittle Dot Com members only special event. Accessible only, I’d guess, after a nominal ‘donation’ to the Vodkapundit account at BWDC.
I’d pay, and I’m taking a wild guess here, but WE’d Pay, just to see you sit there and live comment SNARK instead of type on the keyboard.
The Premier of Stephen Green’s DrunkCasting the Debates! Live, right here, on BWDC. Must see TV.
Merely competent. That is surely what we should all strive for 😉
That said, I have posted before that the bar for Biden is extremely low. Like it is sitting on the floor. So unless he does have a senior moment, he will be declared the winner.
Ralph, as long as Biden doesn’t soil himself or drool onto the podium the main street media will declare him the winner. Also, look for any “fact-checking” to be very one-sided.
Ralph, and everyone else…
That appears to be exactly what happened… I am writing this after the debate, of course, so I have surprised hindsight…
Biden stuck it out, no gaffes, no tangents, he appeared cogent the entire time…
I was surprised, amazed, almost disappointed…
I worry a lot more about oxidane than dihydrogen monoxide.
Too much of that can kill you after all.
Way back in the late seventies or early eightirs, I heard that someone sent facts concerning dihydrogen monoxide, including deaths caused by into to the EPA, and it came back as banned as too dangerous. I do believe that. Also H2O is standard because we write oxidizing atoms last in the formula. If we did it in reverse, it would be OH2, which would be oxygen dihydride. Try that one on someone and see if people catch on.

Agree w/ Bill completely. Trump needs to subtly but incessantly needle Biden and wait for Joe to either loose it or melt down. Then just stand back w/ a “You want this for a President” look on his face.
Also, it’s been far too long and it’s current year. It’s time to end women’s suffrage now!
Let Trump be Trump! Hold no punches and show no mercy. Biden is nothing but dry moldy cold burnt toast.
Then you risk playing into Biden’s Baby Seal Strategy.
Baby needs a new fur coat!
It’s time for a seal hunt.
Biden is not even close to being as competent to run the country as would be a baby seal. At least a baby seal does not pretend to be what it is not. Biden works to pretend he is a fully functional human being and only succeeds in being slightly more real than a verbal automaton. When on his own, he is incapable of speaking a coherent sentence.
Biden is both totally corrupt and mentally incompetent and should be shown as such. However, since his “running mate” is planning on being the next president, that does not seem to be a problem to the demented left of left.
Trump: 2020!
Trump 2020! Landslide victory!
I think the Baby Seal play only occurs if Biden has a melt down, or senior moment, and Trump keeps hammering. If he does as Bill suggested and just turns to the moderator, or calls Jill to the stage, then it’s ok. If he keeps pounding after it is clear there is a problem with Joe, then there would be blow back.
I agree with your call for what should be done, but would any blow back include sympathy votes for Biden?
Exactly. But I don’t think Trump is going to hold back before that moment. He has said a few times lately that he’s going to respond to their ugliness with no restraint. Of course, he might have been talking about Kamala rather than Joe, but I can’t imagine why he would give Joe an easy time in the debate.
I just realized the first debate will occur on the 8th anniversary of my marriage. Not sure if that is an omen.
Nevertheless, happy anniversary Harry, and Mrs. Ferguson.
Thank you.
That reminds me: This past July marked 17 years since I lost 125 life-draining pounds after the same number of years carrying it, when my divorce became final.
