“THE QUESTION HEARD AROUND THE WORLD”

THE QUESTION HEARD AROUND THE WORLD”

 

During Tuesday, Sept. 29th Presidential Debate, the Moderator, Chris Wallace asked what may be called, “the question heard all around the world” because days later, it is still being reported that the President did not answer it.

Is that true? Or was it a question that could not be answered?

If I asked you, “Have you stopped beating your Wife?”

Could you answer it?

NO! Because it is not an honest question, it does not matter what you answer,

you are still an EVIL WIFE BEATER!!

Actually, this is not a question at all. It is a character attack, disguised as a question.

Just because a sentence has a “?” at the end, does not make it a real Question!

Questions that frame the answers within them, or that make you accept a false assumption (like being a Wife beater) if you make any answer to them ARE NOT VALID QUESTIONS. They are designed to make their own point or prove the responder is or has some position. They are claims, statements, personal attacks, or practically anything. BUT THEY ARE NOT HONEST QUESTIONS!

  

With that in mind, let’s look at exactly what Chris Wallace, the Moderator’s question was from the transcript.

 1:04:23 WALLACE

Okay, you have repeatedly criticized the Vice President for not specifically calling out antifa and other left-wing groups. But are you willing, tonight, to condemn white supremacists and militia groups? And to say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence in a number of these cities, as we saw in Kenosha, as we’ve seen in Portland? Are you prepared specifically to do that?

 

There is one beginning statement and three, interlocked questions. The first is a straight forward question that, if taken alone, would be a valid question. BUT THEN Wallace adds to it, the requirement that is a forced assumption, THAT WHITE SUPREMACISTS AND MILITIA GROUPS ARE ADDING TO THE VIOLENCE HAPPENING IN CITIES LIKE KENOSHA AND PORTLAND. The third question directly ties the first two together making the packaged “question” INVALID.

If you say “Yes, I deny and abhor white supremacist militia groups;” The next day headlines read,

“THE PRESIDENT BLAMES WHITE SUPREMACIST MILITIA GROUPS FOR KENOSHA AND PORTLAND RIOTS!”

If you say, as the President did say, “Sure, I’m prepared to do it. I would say- I would say, almost everything I see is from the left-wing, not from the right wing-” the headline’s read

PRESIDENT REFUSES TO CONDEMN RIGHT WING WHITE SUPREMACIST GROUPS.

This question was not a question at all. It was a premeditated attempt to tie Right Wing groups to the Violence going on in Portland, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Baltimore and to the President.

The clue that that was the intention all along is in HOW THE MODERATOR ASKED THE QUESTION. If you watch the video recording, you can see Wallace’s voice and body language in the asking of the “question” was LOUD, AGGRESSIVE, and ACCUSATORY.

 

And for the next minute BOTH WALLACE AND BIDEN TOGETHER badgered the President, insinuating that he did NOT answer the question. OBSERVE, BOTH WALLACE AND BIDEN TOGETHER. UNTIL they got him to say

“Proud Boys, stand back and stand by. But I’ll tell you what, I’ll tell you what, somebody’s got to do something about antifa and the left because this is not a right-wing problem. This is a left-wing problem”

Since then, the news media has been repeating the first sentence and ignoring the rest.

There are TWO headlines the news media has made out of this one Question. 

1 TRUMP DID NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION.

2 TRUMP CALLED UPON THE PROUD BOYS TO STAND BY

But as someone who has studied language, rhetoric and logic, the question was a fraud and these headlines are Democratic Attack points. Such is the state of our political process and the supposed honesty of our “News Media.”

I am particularly disgusted with Chris Wallace, who, up to this time, I thought was a fairly honest journalist.

Tuesday, he was not. He was a dishonest moderator and a Democratic operative.
