The big question I’m not seeing asked in the first half of this discussion is, do we want the government to continue operating in the manner that it has from 1990, the end of Reagan’s 2nd term until 2016, the beginning of Donald Trumps 1st term?
What both Reagan and Trump saw was government overgrown and out of control, driving the country in the wrong direction, while profiting from the massive, ever expanding, over-bloated bureaucracy it had become.
The reason Donald Trump brought in outsiders was to restore founding ideas, and to perhaps inculcate new ideas, about how government could be both reduced in scale and simultaneously become more oriented to the betterment of the nation and to it’s founding mission to be out of the way of we the people.
The specter of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and the train of Obama/Clinton acolytes once again occupying positions of power and influence in American government signals the smooth return and continued operation of what we’ve come to despise about Washington, DC.

If we can’t reform the civil service employment/ retention/ firing process for easier control by “upper management” (and of course we are arguing for more political control when that system was designed to lessen political change overs), then I would suggest we consider moving senior and sub-tier people around among the different agencies. This should be (and really could be) proposed as a means of “fresh eyes and ideas” coming into a new agency, broadening a person’s federal service experience and opportunity for challenge and growth (and advancement), and creating a more robust back up team should attrition or vacations or a pandemic or whatever cause a gap in current desired coverage in one area – a solid team is still available to pitch-hit from some other agencies (Interior to/from FEMA, Marshalls vs. the FBI, EPA to Commerce and vice versa, etc.). This may happen to some degree already, but could be expanded in a formal and more deliberate way, possibly without any real push back from Congress or the public sector unions. The same views apply in the private sector for the same purposes.
You can even throw the “diversity” buzz word around to help justify and support these types of transfers. Move some of the folks from the DOJ EEOC arena to some other assignment that happens to be short of the right POCs, etc., for example.
This removes them from their comfort zone and tendency for allegiance to “their” agency over focusing on the good of the people they are intended to serve (apparently especially a problem at DOS). And if they are smarter than average, they will also realize that this broadened experience will make them even more valuable to lobbyists et al. after they leave federal employment.

You put together a team to accomplish an objective rarely stated but there all the same. From someone like figure head Biden this is further complicated. What do the names offered have in common? None of them object to the idea of a one world govt.

Even more off-topic. Please consider doing a Christmas show. I think we need to be reminded that we’re a people with shared values who have other narratives besides the ones the media, Covid panicers and politicians try to give us.
Perhaps one of you (glances at Mr. Green) could remind us of why Christmas has been an endearing and important secular holiday for us for generations. Maybe one of you could discuss why and how the left is trying to take it away. (Oh, come on. You know that’d be Bill’s segment.) And (of course?) Scott could wrap it up.
I believe this would be a great episode – even though it’s all been said before.
