Biden Might Pick Some Trump Supporters: Who Would Actually Accept That Job?

Would friendly fire from conservatives and Republicans destroy any Right-leaning person who agreed to work in the Biden administration.

Joe Biden says he’d pick some Trump supporters for his incoming administration, but who would actually accept that job? Is Biden just lying? Is it a good idea to reach across the aisle to build a team that “looks more like America?” Or would Biden find only ‘never Trumpers’ and RINO swamp creatures to join his team? Would friendly fire from conservatives and Republicans destroy any Right-leaning person who agreed to work in the Biden administration.

I just joined your website and listened to the show, initially horrified at Scott Orr’s point of view. Please dear God, tell me he was playing devil’s advocate!

Re: Joe Biden still on his feet. Joe Biden had one job, and that was to shut up and stay in his basement while the whole of the “esteemed” press corps and the social media mullahs went to work burying his disturbing record, censoring his opposition and denigrating this president and all of his achievements. And when that clearly wasn’t going to be enough, the pre-selected states changed their election laws (illegally, as it turns out). And when that still wasn’t going to be enough (he was THAT bad), they pulled out the ‘graveyard’ ballots.
On to working in a Biden administration. I remember Republicans & moderate Dems taking jobs in the Obama administration as a show of good will. It became evident early on that they were there strictly for the optics. They were not invited into the inner circle & their opinions were never solicited. Their only purpose was so Obama could legitimately say that he had ‘bi-partisan’ support. It was a joke.

I’m with Bill on this one, but maybe not for the same reasons. I predict that ANY of these conservative appointments are only with the intention to sabotage that person and make excuses for failures of the administration by attributing it to that appointee. If, at any moment were I any such individual, I smell a trap, I would resign and state clearly the reasons why I anticipated any disaster they would have thought to prepare for me. Watch health advisor and military appointments.

A conservative appointee would allow the B/H administration to tell everyone how the Democrats are willing to work with anyone, including conservatives. No conservative opinions would be heeded, and any resistance by the conservative to do the bidding of the administration would be met with scorn and probably firing, if the official did not resign first. All of that would be used to show how conservatives are not team players willing to do what’s best for the country.
It’s a trap, a no-win scenario. Don’t fall for it.

I’m a man of faith as well as science. I’ll probably get heat for this, but in addition to believing that all humans are created equal in the eyes of God, I also believe that the human brain is an organ that is just as susceptible to the laws of evolutionary biology as every other part of the body. It is unreasonable to believe that height and skin color, for example, arose out of selection pressures over time, but that the brain and intelligence are somehow exempt. So, yes, average IQ is going to change along with demographic changes.

Prediction: It has been rumored that Biden may pick Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (horrible RINO) for Attorney General. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if DeWine got SOME position in a Biden administration (at which point the media will effusively praise Biden for “reaching across the aisle” which is absurd b/c DeWine is about as Dem as a Republican can get).
(And IF Biden becomes President): Joe Biden isn’t gonna last six months. And Kamala has already spoken about her intention to seek retribution toward Trump supporters. AOC and others have talked about a “Trump Accountability Project” to seek out and punish anyone who was/is a Trump supporter. So ANY faux olive branches will be simply for appearances and media hype. They will seek to disarm us first, then “punish” us (whatever that means, but I’m sure they have ways).
The DOJ, FBI, CIA and much of the judicial branch have been corrupted so don’t expect them to save us. (I told ya Bill Barr was useless…)
And IF Biden does become President, that means the election fraud was successful, and the people perpetrating that fraud obviously aren’t going to stop it. So I don’t want to hear ONE WORD about “polls” or “the next election”, “2022”, “2024”, etc. It’s gone. America is done. We are on the road to Venezuela.

Now that there’s a good chance we’ll be moving backwards again under a … wait, I think I can do this … under a … doh, reewy, I cad say id if I hode by doze … under a … gulp … Biden administration … gag, cough, wheeze … I can once again listen to this song by a former mid-Atlantic regionally famous band who released their undeservedly ignored sensational eponymous debut album in 1980, Four Out of Five Doctors: Waiting for the Change.

[Scott, do you remember those guys? So good!]

Or maybe The Who’s election year classic, Won’t Get Fooled Again. “Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.” (In this case, 0bama, not Trump.)

In regards to loyal opposition, it may have to occur first at the state level (and sheriff/ school board / county level?). As a result of an email from Amazon promoting books of possible interest to me I came across one addressing the Gramscian march through the educational institutions. An Amazon reviewer provides a nice summary here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R2V8W02AR97XU4/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_viewpnt?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B07VGKSTFL#R2V8W02AR97XU4
The author points out that govt money is supporting the politicization of the universities and lower educational levels (state schools, Ivy’s, etc. ) and the authoritarian professors and administration at these institutions. But govt money comes from the tax payers and thus movements to realign how and on whom that money is spent, for what purposes, might begin to alter the current dynamic from political support for leftist causes back to the prior “pure pursuit of knowledge” concept most of us want to believe universities should be providing.

I may not buy that book by John Ellis right now, but it potentially offers at least a partial solution to our current predicament.

I understand the Constitution to say that the “loyal opposition”, such as it may be, is housed in the Congress, not the executive branch; and the “neutral opposition” if such is even available is resident within the Judiciary. We do not have a parliamentary system of governance, for good or ill.

And we let the balancing of powers play out per that Constitutional structure unless and until we decide political and legal and social (and maybe economic) conditions merit revisiting the language in the Declaration of Independence that might apply to the 21st century.

I want to believe that the info about affidavits and other illegal election activity is real and gets it’s day in court early enough to void the need for a Biden transition team. But many are now suggesting that is not the way to bet. Time is short; and the result is far from certain even if court based decisions are found to be valid in some meaningful way. Lionell’s favorite phrase still applies, even to us as to our opponents: Reality Is Not Optional.

Some of these hypothetical segments are not really helping any of us understand what comes next via Trump Plan A or non-Trump Plans B or C or D. I hope our hosts consider some of that perspective in the segments they are offering us.

The Constitution specifically mentions “Loyal Opposition”?
That would change the meaning of the term if it did, at least the meaning here in the United States.
I get what you meant. But my ears perk up and sometimes my eyebrows involuntarily are raised when I hear the Constitution invoked.
9 our of 10 dentists can say anything they damned well please, but I think we should all pay careful attention to what is said after the Constitution is invoked after Roe V. Wade.

I agree. Let’s speculate what Trump might do to maintain the push back against legacy media and the tech barons of Silicon valley.

Bill forgot his other disclaimer: Scott doesn’t believe any of that crud. He is playing a leftist so that Bill will have something to react to. He usually takes as his starting point an article published in the legacy media that’s purporting to be reasonable and measured and even bipartisan but is actually propaganda. Then Bill rips it to shreds.

How long have you been watching and listening? Scott always argues for the opposition – that’s the premise of this show. Would you have the two of them just agree on everything? What would that accomplish?

I’m not new here. I do understand that it is Scott’s role to play Devil’s advocate. I also understand that a good discussion needs to present all sides, so I’m not anti-Scott. His role is needed.
But for reasons I won’t enumerate here, I do believe Scott is a liberal… or at least leans that way pretty good. I think he has trouble reconciling his Christian faith with ACTUALLY being a liberal (abortion, etc.) but it’s my impression that he does see them (in general) as being more caring… morally superior. Care, fair, share… the liberal mantra.
Again, I won’t get detailed about how I came to that conclusion but my opinions are based on things I have heard him say. I don’t love it, but again, I’m conceding that a thorough examination of issues requires looking at both sides.

I would have argued with you about that, until the more recent episode on this subject.

But I will say that the Republican Party needs to welcome classical liberals who used to vote Democrat. They agree with us more than they agree with the Democrat Party platform anymore. Ronald Reagan’s famous comment about how he didn’t move, the Democrats did, is more true now than ever. And it’s why Democrats now have to cheat to win.

Scott, do you really think Biden or his handlers would listen to a conservative? Really??? I’m not asking what you believe could or should happen. Realistically, do you think a governement led by Biden, Pelosi, Schumer and Harris would listen to a conservative?

If you think Patriotic Americans will work with or even recognize a socialist government, you’ve got another think coming! There will be blood! Count on it! This is the whole reason for the 2nd Amendment in the first place.

We already know to an absolute certainty that Joe Biden will say anything he thinks is expedient to the moment. This is just more of the same.

As far as a Conservative Biden Supporter goes — There’s no such animal. The two are mutually exclusive. The best we could hope for is a moderate Democrat and there’s damned thin hope of that at this point.

Stupid idea. Whoever is picked will be vilified by both sides. Spy/agent? Double agent? I wonder if RhINO Romney is available? One stone. Two birds. Now that, I could go for.
Besides, why would they listen to a sane person of integrity? If no one ‘volunteers’ and they pick someone who passes on the job, the MSM will attack that person for not even trying to ‘unify’ the country. A no win situation. Stupid.

My previous comment triggered a memory, remember how hard our ‘take no sides’ press corps searched for a sexual scandal involving Palin? Going through other peoples divorce records to see if she’s involved, planting a stalker next door and who knows what else. Now no interest at all in Harris career start … under.. Willie Brown.

Ha ha. I see what you did there. Under. How true. I wonder if the defunct Me Too movement would have included male violation? Ok, not male on male, as that was done.

I wonder if they’re angling to bring Obama back , maybe at State ,that way Joe can go back to the basement and Kamala can go back to street walking and the old crowd can run the show.

I think Romney squashed that idea.
He maybe knows what would happen to him.
He’d have to go home to his money and car elevator and to ignonomy without being in politics anymore.

This COVID hysteria (and resulting governmental overreach) has “outed” a number of faux Republicans (RINOs) who would probably be happy to take a place in the Harris, uh… I mean Biden administration. And the media will praise them for “reaching across the aisle”. Sickening.

If Harris is reaching “across the aisle,” then all men should be fully aware of what she will grab.
