Inauguration Day 1/20/2021. Estimates are over 100 million marched that day. Not to the Presidential Inauguration, but to their respective state capitols. And they were armed.
They were not armed with rifles or hand guns, no firearms at all. Not even a torch nor pitch fork was spotted. That would be for another time. And at the appointed hour the mobs fell silent. Some bowed their heads in prayer. Others stared off into the distance, at a flag, that in their minds eye still waved proudly in the chill winter breeze.
And then from pockets and hand bags came out the matches and lighters and pieces of paper. Just pieces of paper. Just copies of their Constitution.
And fire was put to the paper. And the crowds disbursed. And as the people went their ways the last ashes of the covenant between the people and their government fell.
And no AMERICAN celebrated that day.
