I agree with Bill. When we were a few months into the lockdowns, I looked around and said to myself, “This must be the biggest social science experiment in the history of the planet.” I even told that to people around me. They were horrified that I would even consider the possibility that a whole lot of this nonsense was simply theater. That they could not see this possibility at all scared me to pieces.

My reaction, too. Initially, I put the virus in the category of over-blown hype that would burn out within a month. Boy, was I wrong! And then logic and believing my own eyes, and listening to voices I respect kicked in and it became apparent by mid-April that the virus was being politicized.
People I considered conservative, with abundant common sense, totally buy into the MSM narrative and it baffles me. The only excuse I can make for them is that they are intentionally misinformed – they don’t seek the truth – they allow themselves to be told what to do and question nothing. When I’ve shared information or voiced my dissent against the prevailing wisdom I am either ignored or treated as if I am too stupid to grasp the obvious.
I don’t seek attention-in fact that is the last thing I want, but I have refused to wear a mask and to my surprise I have encountered very little pushback or scorn. I chalk that up to where I live, but most of my community follow all the rules, believe what they are told, and are afraid. My contention is not novel, but if the virus had not been used for nefarious political purposes, this virus would have been reported and responded to exactly like every virus we experience every year, and the loss of life due to it could very likely have been less. Certainly, economic devastation and social breakdown wouldn’t have happened. But, then, that is what the elites, with their partners, the CPC have been engineering all along.
