How does one run for local office

Bill and patriots. My daughter is intreated in running for local office but due to the economy we are almost paycheck to paycheck. How does one get involved in local government, fund a campaign and well campaign? There are a lot of laws I am ignorant of and paperwork that needs to be filed. I figured Messrs. Whittle, Ott and Green would have some pointers on the topic. As Bill said, the only way to win is to vote them out.

Patrick,
I honestly want to hear your answer to this question. Why are you here? If you feel that way, If you feel we CAN’T put out this dumpster fire that is our Republic, Why are you even here?

Are the libraries where you are open?

If the answer is yes, you and she will have to spend some time reading what turns out to be useless to learn what sources are useful, and I do not doubt the useful sources will be written in language that is not at the very least just a wee dense and even incomprehensible.

But you can learn about how local election law works.

Is your daughter already involved in local campaigns? She should stay involved and watch and listen.

I wrote something up about how someone I knew blew up her last campaign for what can be described as an “Open” office, a City Council seat. That person is now something called the Female Democratic Chair of her local party organization. She may even have been re-elected … by the small core of female Democrats who always showed up for her three failed campaigns.

Your daughter will need to think bigger than that, about people who won’t welcome her with open arms when she opens her mouth to say “Hello.”

Ignore the Civil Rights activist bias of the author being interviewed. Focus in on how many tricks Garrett Morgan used to to sell his Gas Mask to even fire departments in Southern cities dominated by Jim Crow.

Garrett Morgan was an Inventor. He was an Etrepreneur. He was a Salesman. He was a Businessman. AND HE WAS A HUSTLER.

To do what Bill is suggesting, your daughter will need to be able to sell Yellow Snow to Eskimos, or at least get in the door of the local media who see what she is selling Yellow Snow (with a little Solid Canine Contribution mixed in) and put a flyer in the window where they don’t notice it long enough for enough readers to see it before the editors see it and rip it off, and up.

Unfortunately no, apparently you can catch the Wuhan virus from knowledge.

Well, go where you have to.

Election Lawyers are a nasty combination of Sharks & Subway Rats here in NYC. They will eat you alive!

So learn enough of the law they have made a specialty of to meet them ready to rock &/or roll.

I will be writing up a post soon based on a Tony Hillerman essay about a candidate who whipped the professionals so bad he ran unopposed for years afterwards.

That’s maybe not your daughter’s goal, but if when you leave the swamp the denizens there are so scared you’ll come back they leave alone what you tell them to leave alone, that’s also good.

And that mean learning their Law.
