More voters are put on the voter roll every year so that we had something like 97% of the eligible voters – as indicated by census data – have voted in the last election.
We are likely not getting an accurate view of the what the people want when we see election results.
P.S. It might be more meaningful to point out that the population of AZ has increased by about 40% since 2000. In roughly the same period, the number of registered voters in AZ has roughly tripled.
When the AZ legislature subpoenaed the county for a forensic audit of the election, the county board of supervisors refused and filed a lawsuit to block the subpoena.
