Well done! Unfortunately, my skills are out of date. I had a few thoughts about it after an email conversation with Scott, so I’d love to know what you did.
A custom-coded plugin essential to the operation of the site was needlessly building a table of its activities that gradually bogged the site down. Chris built a gizmo to purge the table. We still need to address the fundamental flaw that created it in the first place.

Is the plugin available for free download? As I’ve said to you before, WordPress isn’t my forte, but I’d love to see the garbage collection routines that are apparently broken.

The problem is not with WordPress, but with a custom plugin we paid a developer to make for us.
Yessir. I was able to download the basic plugin from the developers, and I’m looking through it.
