Hello, I’m back, but just briefly. I had something happen to me today that just might indicate what our future might be like. I might be wrong, and I hope that I’m reading too much into it. Just to put it out there, I have to state the facts first, I’m a conservative atheist/satanist, but I’m also a husband(38 years), a father, and a grandfather. I consider myself to be a normal person, except for the religion part. I worked 50-60 hours a week for 35+ years until my body started breaking down and I was forced to retire. Now that I have plenty of free time, I started joining several different forums to help pass a few hours of the day. One of them was of course an ATHEIST’S forum. I posted and responded to a few items, and frankly wasn’t particulary impressed with some of the dialog.
They have a political section with a few different threads on it, mostly anti-trump with a liberal point of view. As soon as I gave my opinion on anything, it immediately got personal and very hostile. After the election, I had no intention of going back to the political forum, until I saw a thread titled NOT A POLITICAL CRISIS???!!!. I couldn’t help my self, so I clicked on it and read their responses. It was like being in JR. high again. Nothing but Trump is a criminal, there was NO corruption in the election, America is a racist society, all the usual crap. When I made the mistake of pointing out how ill-informed they were, what was going to happen to our economy, our military, our borders, and our taxes, all I got was the usual “you suck”, “you’re retarded”, “you’re a racist”, really mature and well thought out responses. I also got the suggestion that I should just kill myself. That’s bad enough in and of itself, but this “suggestion” came from a STAFF MEMBER/MODERATOR. When I responded back and said how immature and personal that could be, he responded back with” I didn’t tell you to kill yourself, you’re just a moron”. When I responded back with, “well, what did those word’s mean then”? Telling someone to go out to the garage and leave the door closed could only mean one thing. But of course, all I got was a coward’s response.
While I was responding to another “genius’s” raving about my intelligence and what a criminal Trump is, I got an error message. When I went to look at that, it said that I was permanently banned from that forum. I GOT BANNED BY AN ATHEIST’S FORUM because I’m a conservative and dared to question any of their point’s of view! If I as an atheist can get banned from an atheist’s forum for not agreeing with their bullshit ideologies, then here’s my question, HOW BAD IS IT GOING TO GET?

I have a similar story, minus the Satanist stuff (really weird, dude…). I’ve had my Disqus account since probably the year 2000 or so. I use it to comment on boards that use it.
Today, I logged on and instantly my posting was ‘moderated’. I tried reposting, and again I got the message ‘awaiting moderation’. I tried merely posting the word ‘testing’ and again, ‘awaiting moderation’.
I’ve never been warned about any postings for the past 20+ years. I’ve never had any issues. I checked my last posting, which was 2 days ago, and there was nothing offensive in it that I could tell. The posting I had tried to place was also completely benign.
I have absolutely no idea what has happened, but apparently I’m in some kind of permanent moderation-only status. I don’t know if this is for everyone, or just myself.
Some atheists are satanists, but by no means are all atheists satanists. I don’t do religion, of any kind or to any extent, and that includes satanism. That goes for every last atheist I know.
What could possibly have given you that idea?
I think the sentence “I’m a conservative atheist/satanist” might be better understood by just saying “I’m a conservative atheist” and just putting a period after it.
The idea that religion should be mocked and humiliated by using their own ideologies and symbolism against them. I consider myself to be a “Satanist” in name only, I don’t/won’t worship anyone or anything. Religion is totally benign to me, but I’m always happy to remind anyone with FAITH of any kind that there are people like me that despise religion and have nothing but contempt for all/any religion. It always puts a smile on my face anytime I’m out in public and I see a person wearing a cross necklace or a “Jesus shirt” turn around and go the other way, or avoid eye-contact with me and just walk by. It works great, whenever my wife and I are in a crowded store, she just gets behind me and we just “go”. My wife calls it “parting the red sea”. She’s a devout Christian, and I’m not. We’ve been together for over 40 years, and we’ve learned how to make it work. I’m not evil, I’m just different. Now I hope that telling this story won’t get me kicked off of this forum, I’m still a conservative, but I need to take a break from politics right now, all it does is make me very angry and I can’t deal with that right now. I couldn’t resist telling the story of being banned from an ATHEIST forum for being a conservative. That’s how bad it’s gotten, and those fucking lowlifes haven’t even taken over yet.
See ya in the funny-papers.
It’s a great story! I’ve never had a negative encounter over my not doing religion. (I don’t say “atheist” because my atheism isn’t the foundation of my beliefs the way God is for believers. It’s just happens to be an outcome of strict adherence to reality, which is that foundation.)
I’m sure I have a conflict over it in my future, though.
I’ve never been able to post anything using Disqus – either my post goes into the ether, or moderation. I don’t post incendiary stuff, so….?
Never mind, I forgot that in the OP Bob said he’s an “atheist/satanist.” That’s obviously where that came from. My bad.
