I’m not telling where it is, but it’s 5 minutes away by car, and I could walk there in about an hour. I get much comfort from that fact!

I have been trying to get eastern Washington counties to succeed from Washington and join Idaho. Do you think Spokane county ever would do vote to leave Washington? There were some counties in eastern Oregon willing to try to join Idaho. I am a map geek been looking at county maps and adding counties to Idaho and I like the new look of the State of Idaho.
I wish I could assure you that Spokane County would go for it, but the City of Spokane, lake so many other large cities, is pretty far left. Worth a try, and many of the surrounding counties might well go for it.
and now you are just rubbing it in …. 🙂
I live in the UK where there is not one single police officer that would say anything like what that sheriff did. I understand the logic of telling people to fix where you are, rather than move to somewhere like Kootenai, but the only route I see to restore rights here, is for the system to collapse and somehow, the people who take over being believers in rights…..
Savor what you have there Debra!
on an unrelated note, do you have a spare room available? 🙂
“for the system to collapse” and “the people who take over”?
So, are you saying the people of the UK have no choice but to wait and see if the system collapses and those who “take over” are decent sorts?
Wow. Sad.
Unfortunately, the political system does not allow ‘we the people’ much say. We have no primary process – the parties choose the candidates, there is no mechanism for the people to force a referendum … for example, it took us decades to get a vote on whether we wanted political union with the EU … they just imposed it without any form of consent .. in fact, every general election was won by parties with promises of ‘less Europe’ and ‘repatriation of powers’, and every time, they immediately reneged on those promises.
So yes, short of the country being on its knees and ‘the establishment’ facing a loss of power, we will see no change for the better.
As I have said before, the most likely route to get anything in the UK done, is for it to happen in the US first, and for us to ride on that inertia, hence why I am here.
Sorry Touay, but I scarcely have a bedroom. I live in a tiny condo, My bedroom houses a single bed and my standing desk, a dresser and a night stand, Period. I do wish that Sheriff were ours, but I live on the wrong side of that border.
I doubt a 78 year old, 5’2″, 105 pound old lady would get enough votes… :o)
fair enough … however, you could do it in the cause of comedy 🙂
You could do the campaign press conference wearing a ‘phuk chairman Bai Den’ T-shirt … it would go down in history!
I looked it up. And I’m not mentioning the precise location either. But just let me say that – in addition to having the most perfect Sherriff who I think I would trust with my life and MY RIGHTS who I am CERTAIN must be a man of profound faith – the view from the ground just puts me in mind of a descriptor that seems quite apt:
That is God’s country, right there. It’s a beautiful place. Absolutely perfect.
But I can tell it’s also a harsh land under the right circumstances. I hope we can keep this place a well-kept secret. I want to live there right now. But I’d be satisfied just making note of it as a redoubt to retreat to.
