I like thinking of Florida and North Dakota and “Control Groups” in the laboratory of states experiment in pandemic response. One large and populous state and one more rural and low population density state for the experiment.
Bill: Florida Man will never be totally displaced by Ron DeSantis. After all, the memes of the many outweigh the memes of the few; or the one.
Engineering the details of enforcing the state laws on tech companies is not difficult – allow the people who claim to be violated file suit and force the tech companies to prove EVERY suit is not valid. As part of the law, the tech companies CANNOT force the plaintiffs to pay legal fees in case of suit failure. So – we can sue the tech companies out of business, or they can change their policies to insure the suits cannot be correct.
Make the financial penalty for violating Florida resident’s Constitutional rights, $1,000,000 per instance.
If the tech companies refuse to provide service to Florida, as a result, they are violating the rights of ALL Floridians in one move.
How much is 21.76 million times $1,000,000??
Sounds good to me!
Having been #Cancelled from FB+Messenger simultaneously, from YT w/o a single upload, and from LinkedIn, whom do I call?
Not a lawyer, but I suspect there are probably problems with this, even if it would aid achieving “justice” for the little guy. There are lots of companies not doing business in Fla. that I cannot force to do so. And I have no “right” to do so, either. We all get a lot of “free” information from the internet, paying in ways not always open and obvious, along with those cases where we pay via subscriptions, etc.
“As part of the law, [make it so that] the tech companies CANNOT force the plaintiffs to pay legal fees in case of suit failure.” Not up on all the legal details here, but there are problems with this desire as well. Could also lead to a lot of frivolous law suits, clogging the courts, denying rapid justice to others, increasing judicial costs overall – and thus taxes, etc.
Oh, as to this video: Very nicely done. Always appreciate Scott’s foundation with The Constitution (aside: please ask PJ if you can post Freedom’s Charter in total!)
DeSantis >> Noem at this point.
I am curious as to whether other members have my experience with BW content on YT. I have been a subscriber to Bill’s channel for many years. I have noticed that I do not seem to get notifications for every video posting, and sometimes that notification takes several days to come after the video has posted. For example, opening another tab right now shows the videos below. Note that I have not yet received a notification on the Corruption Video, but I did receive one for the Seattle Police. So while Bill’s channel has in excess of 186,000 subscribers, if they are not getting the notification will they come.
Here is my experiment that I’d like some others to try. Go to YT and Unsubscribe then subscribe again and see if this turns on your notifications.
I am subscribed to about 10 things on YT, many “right wing” and I don’t think I am getting notifications from most of them. I get one every time Smarter Every Day and the Critical Drinker post, though.
What do you guys see?
I find that the “notification” features are reliable — whether it’s for YouTube or Rumble. I find tht I mus look for the stuff I want to see, and I have a basic understanding if the release schedules for that. Of course, this proves difficult if one subscribes to may different productions. I realize that this is not helpful, but things in life rarely are.
Nothing! Youtube has just about cut me off for some reason. Maybe it’s because I cleared my cache and most of my cookies from Google. I get no notifications, no subscription list, can’t subscribe or comment now. I get my notifications from BW by e-mail now. If I want a particular channel on YT, I have to use the searchbar.
When I tried to comment on a YouTube item, I got blocked, and got a message that I violated the TOS by posting a video or commenting something that violated the TOS. Never posted a video or ever commented before. Tried to appeal. Waiting for over a year now.
I haven’t seen notices from YT for any of the channels I am subscribed to for months… but I usually watch them on the websites anyway…
I actually got one about an hour ago for Cultural Parasitism. First one I recall from YT in awhile that came the same day the video was posted.
now I have to check my inbox… I would be surprised…
nada…
You go, Ron! Makes me want to move to Florida….not really cause I don’t like the swampy heat.
You’ll get used to it and it is worth it. Patriots are welcome. Yankee liberals, stay home!
My brothers worked in Melbourne and Lauderdale and my dad retired in Barefoot Bay. I’ve spent time there in August and didn’t like it. My dad had to powerwash his mobile home twice a year to keep the green off. No thanks.
I lived in Lake Charles Louisiana for 5 years. Talk about swampy heat and mosquitoes. (Two sizes. Small enough to go through a screen door, and large enough to open one.)😆
We live on the marsh at Amelia Island area. Add “no-see-ums” to that mix!! We went to Nova Scotia about ten years ago and they had friggin skeeters that sounded like small helicopters flying past your ear! You had no problem feeling them land on you and they crunched like our Palmetto bugs when you smacked them!
Yeah, my Dad invited us for a barbecue and said he’d issue shotguns for the mosquitoes! They are a problem even here in Upstate NY near the Cicero Swamp. They carry Eastern Equine Encephalitis.
Funny thing. Someone told me mosquitoes could spread the Covid so I bought 4 huge cans of repellent, but that’s not the case and I have enough repellent to serve a regiment now! At least I didn’t hoard TP.
The small ones could easily be “no-see-ums”. Have to get up close. The big ones rarely bite. The small ones were voracious. If you saw a small somewhat dark cloud moving on its own or against the wind, it was them. (Small being from hand sized to size of a six foot man that I saw. – more than once.)
Our no-see-um sand fleas go thru window/door screens as if they don’t exist.
Someone, I think University of Florida – Bill’s alma mater, did micro photography of them and they look like a huge T-Rex head with tiny little body and wings. They feel the same!! 🙂
My dad had a military issue bush hat with mosquito netting that was such a fine mesh that it was difficult to see thru, but it worked great for fishing!
