The Great White Outdoors: ABC News Reveals ‘People of Color’ Crisis in Our National Parks

Bill Whittle devotes about 2 minutes to the kind of basic research that used to be essential to true journalism, and discovers a possible explanation for ABC News alarm that our national parks are dominated by ‘non-people of color.’ Come and see how the synthetic injustice is manufactured.

ABC News highlights the inequality of “the great white outdoors”, in a report that decries the fact that “people of color” are drastically under-represented among visitors to our National Parks. In response, Bill Whittle devotes about 2 minutes to the kind of basic research that used to be essential to true journalism, and discovers the possible reason why our parks are dominated by ‘non-people of color.’ Come and see how the synthetic injustice is manufactured.

Top-notch mockery.

But you are ceding the immoral basis of their argument by talking about population percentages. All of their racist arguments are based on the cultural marxist concept of “equal outcomes.” This is a an anti-justice, anti-science, anti-human, anti-equality, anti-progress, anti-respect, wholly evil, racist, and immoral idea that destroys society, and we ought to call it out wherever we see it in the most moral terms possible.

That’s a lesson I learned from you, Bill.

Ah! But in the Woke/Critical Theory world, the very fact that white US people “exoticize” other people and cultures, which of course is a relic of white colonialism which is a form of … wait for it … you guessed it — *racism*.

So — to sum up, if you only hang around with white people and do what white people do, you’re racist. If you explicitly seek out non-white people and non-“white” culture (for the record, I think it is racist to assign a race to a culture, but they … THEY … actually insist on it) … that *also* means you’re racist.

When you are looking too hard for something, you will find it everywhere.

Oh, and as far as white Americans …

I have spent a lot of time in National Parks and I have seen people of ALL colors. However, most of our National Parks are indeed “outdoorsy”! Not every person likes the great outdoors.

I watched a little docuseries recently about the national parks in Colorado, and they interviewed a lot of visitors. Either they deliberately chose to interview visitors based on their race, which I thought was supposed to be offensive and/or possibly even illegal, or three quarters of the visitors to the parks were “people of color.”

They want it to be the 60s again so badly that they’ve revived its vocabulary.

Yes, I am old enough to remember when “colored people” was the standard usage (by persons of all races), and then was displaced by the non-racist “black.” And so on.

Unless white people are see thru transparent (which we aren’t!) aren’t we ALL people of color? I detest the whole lexicon of the Left. Bill studied them in laboratories and in their natural habitat. LOL

.Who are these people who think their color hues matter more than colors of pastel pink and light beige? Hmpf! And fie on the people who promote this insanity.

Well now that I give this issue further thought it’s clear that this is only the tip of the iceberg. What about other outdoor activities that are underrepresented by people of color? How about fishing, hunting, hiking, trail riding or the ultimate……tennis? I’m sure that there are more but my whiteness just won’t allow me those depressing thoughts.

I gutz da salushun. Dem O-presd little Black chillun (I don say boyz n gurlz cuz evrybody no now day beez exackly da same) needz ta beez bussed to da Nashunul Parks when day isn bein bussed to skool. Den day will beez develupin da proper respek fo da grate outdoorz, and begin to displace dem honkey mofos who be keepin it all fo demselfs.

So is it time to force poc to visit American parks/monuments. Round them up in their government owned and operated projects, force them to dig deep, skip the monthly rent and other payments, and visit the outdoors.
Then next year the current crop of congress-critters can pass legislation earmarking another few trillion to give to poc so they can afford to visit the outdoors.
In my neighborhood there are 3 black families, 6 white families, 6 Hispanic families, and there are scattered Asian spouses among them. The blacks enjoy fishing, not so much sleeping on the ground even if it is in a tent. The whites and Hispanics are more likely to be found camping, even in urban camp areas.
First step is “ya gotta wanna.”
Sure be nice if we had some media who wanted to speak the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth as opposed to leftist hate mongering indoctrination.

Every single progressive talking point about “people of colour” is anchored to a specific action item on their agenda. We’d best be asking what is the left’s objective in taking a stand against the raycissm in our national parks. Do they plan to end funding? Do they wish to see those parks closed and the land returned to native Americans?

Bill, your on fire sarcasm would scorch the damned skin off those raging progressive racists if they had even a smidgen of self-awareness, but they don’t, so they blithely and obliviously go about their daily mission of sowing hatred, malcontent, and destruction against the once greatest country in the world. They make evil look saintly.

They actually might. I’ve heard of POC visiting Africa, and being referred to as “the Americans”. Apparently the divide between African natives and Americans who happen to have African ancestors is deeper than many expect.

Well done. Truth dies in darkness, or so the woke Washington Post still reminds us, perhaps they could tell the woke ABC news folks that outside — for roughly half the day (average our for the year) there is light.

We need every one of the conservative commentators/ pundits and all of the Republicans in Congress, along with the other 4 to 6 sort of moderate Dems, to listen to this and start to adopt this truth over truthiness attitude. Say it loud and often, as you all have the public forums to help reverse this perverse lying form of “reporting”. We citizens might each email a few dozen folks, but you all can reach thousands and millions with logic and ridicule.

Andrew Breitbart and Rush understood that the liberal biased media is not our friend, and that they should be denigrated into ridiculousness at every opportunity. “Do unto others as they have done onto you, until they stop.”

Are “people of color” accurately represented by CEOs? How about journalists? How about government employees? Perhaps this should be investigated.

And how many POM (People of Monochrome) are willing to step down from their jobs in favor of POC?

What stuns me is that you in America actually keep some sort of statistics on the racial makeup of National Park visitors! How do you get the data? Are you asked your race when you enter a National Park? If so, no wonder the US is where it is now. Americans seem to be race obsessed, but this since inmemorable times. The only countries in the words I have traveled to (and I have visited many) where you are asked your race or ethnic identity are the USA and South Africa. This allows news like those of ABC to actually come out.
I suggest: scrap all references to race or ethnic identity in all official documents and make America truly color-blind.
(for the record: I am not US-American nor resident)

The people obsessed with this kind of nonsense are a tiny minority of self styled elites mostly in Manhattan as Bill mentioned. They are following Saul Alinsky radical tactics to rub raw any areas of discontent but being unable to find any they just make some up

Just a guess, they are probably not actually asking people to state their race on the forms they fill out when they visit the park (though that’s possible), but rather conducting counting surveys where some park employee (or university graduate student doing “research”) goes around at set times and counts people by demographics, including race, age, and whatever other superficial categories they think that they can identify by looking at someone and probably not interacting with them.

Their excuse for this, besides the irrational obsession with race that you so rightly point out, is the same as any marketing research.

As a resident of Northern New Mexico, every time I drive 20 miles in any direction from my home I feel out of place and underrepresented based solely upon my skin color. Of course that would assume that I am a racist prick who actually paid attention to this sort of b*******.

ABC News is a term that refers to just Another Biased Crap News network that is busy spouting racist propaganda and garbage.

Amen Bill! That one girl saying she doesn’t feel welcome in the great outdoors…that’s all on her. I can assure her, that’s all in her own head. No one is oppressing her for being there. They aren’t “white nationalist parks”.

Poor little snowflake! No one cares what color you are. No one is paying attention to you.

Professional victim-hood. And it’s the very fact that no one is paying attention to them, that encourages them to whine and play the professional victim card. It’s the “everyone gets a trophy” generation. They were not prepared for the real world.
For the last time, I watched the most recent episode of Macgyver, and it was rife with this kind of ignorance. It’s truly pathetic.

I sorry, Bill but this segment doesn’t really resonate within me. All this talk about people of color…. You see, I identify as Transparent. If you see me – your racist!

Brilliant!
Unfortunately, transparent people are the worst kind of people, because I don’t know they exist until I break my nose when I collide with their bony skulls. It’s very painful — like running into a clean sliding glass door while running to evade those racist polar bears.

Here in Atlanta, Georgia, one of the most popular areas for people of color to visit is Stone Mountain Park. For those of you unfamiliar with Stone Mountain, it is a monument to the Civil War from the perspective of the South. It has giant relief carvings of Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, and Stonewall Jackson emblazoned on the side.
Somehow, Blacks in particular are everywhere having family get togethers, apparently unaware that, you know, they are in a monument to slave owners. Strange, eh? Matter of fact, in the 1950s and 60s the Ku Klux Klan burned giant crosses on top of this mountain to “remind” the city of Atlanta a couple of miles away of their feelings towards them.
An interesting bit of history is that if there is any attempt at removing the park’s dedication to “The Old South” and making it more politically correct, the ownership reverts back to the family that originally donated the land for the park.
With that off of the table as a solution, somehow people are able to compartmentalize the fact that the friggin’ Civil War was a hundred and 60 years ago, was an unfortunately necessary act to purge the USA of slavery, and realize the promise of our founding documents. The Stone Mountain Park isn’t trying to revert us back to those times, just commemorate and memorialize the terrible suffering.

… And at the same time provide a fun place to have a family picnic just a short drive from the metro … says this boy in the N E GA mountains.

Roger Williams National Memorial, part of the U.S. National Park Service, is also in an urban setting, specifically Providence, Rhode Island .Yes, we even have a park ranger. I believe it is the smallest national park in the country.
