Moral codes, while the are many common themes, are NOT universal. Even within groups or cultures, there are wildly divergent moralities.
What is the highest moral act you can think of? …. I suggest what you would end up with as the highest moral act is; To sacrifice yourself to save another.
If you answered with the above, you are likely from western Judaeo christian tradition. This is the exact sacrifice of Christ. Many, if not most, simply see that as weakness.
For many muslims, the highest moral act, is to sacrifice yourself ….. while killing non-muslims. … this is called ‘Jihad’, and it instantly buys you a ticket to paradise with your 72 virgins.
This form of jihad is taught to muslims throughout the world, including the west. This is why there will always be muslim terror (suicide) attacks …. the whole point is to die!
In Afghanistan, the mujaheddin would build their bases on the tops of hills, specifically so the Russians would have an easy time of blowing them up!
If you teach a culture that all sins will be forgiven and you go straight to paradise if you die while killing unbelievers ……
The gay muslim who frequented the pulse nightclub, was told by his imam how to get forgiveness of sins …. so he shot up the nightclub and died doing so.
You wonder why the Palestinians have no issue putting rockets in schools or hospitals … they KNOW that all those kids and hospital workers and patients will go straight to paradise if Israel fires back.
Moral values are not universal. West values are superior.
One reply on “Morality is not universal / Why fire rockets into Israel”
I had an idea a while back, that we should dig up Ronald Reagan as the next President. But he’s dead, you cry. So?
He’d not cause a fuss on TV, wouldn’t be influenced by others; would have far more morals than the current one (also true now), and when the terrorists cause issues, we’d say – you think you scare us? We have a dead President in charge; and he’s seen your virgins and says they’re all ugly.
