Friday Night Videos – 80s Two Hit Wonders!

John Waite’s big song was “Change, but I always liked this one better

I’ve heard that “Words” was the bigger hit, but this is the one I remember getting teh airplay on MTV:

You know Men At Work’s two hits that still get tons of airplay, but their follow up album had a few good songs that have been sadly memory holed.

Who ya got?

Here’s one I love to this day. Not exactly obscure, but definitely worthy on its own not to mention as the theme song of one of the greatest movies of all time…
The song is “Don’t You Forget About Me.” I’m sure everyone knows the movie!

A thousand apologies for commenting Wednesday on the Friday night videos. A friend was leaving town Monday to see family and we needed to spend the weekend celebrating another success. Then, of course, came the mandatory recovery period. Lol.
Man do these bring back memories! Men at Work were one of my favorites. John Waite and Missing Persons are hard for me to place other than radio hits while working or doing whatever, but I love the music. There’s so many that I’m sure whose music I spent a lot of time enjoying but have forgotten, so thank God for you Brother Bob to bring the memories flowing back.

No worries on the late reply – thanks for chiming in! And yes, not obscure but great song. When I got married ten years ago I posed for the perfect photo to put at the end of our wedding book… As the sun was starting to set during our reception, I had the photographer get a shot of me walking in the door, shadowed out by the light behind me, and walking while pumping my fist in the air a la Bender!

All hail the great John Bender. What a great way to preserve your wedding day. I’m sure your bride rolled her eyes. LOL. Total dude move.
I spent a significant part of my teenage years making sure I wasn’t acting like a neomaxizoomdweebie. LOL.
Looking forward to your submissions tomorrow!

Heh – I was torn between posting that or Overkill. Overkill won the coin toss =8^)
