Described as an “eye-scorching flash of amplified Technicolor” by other outlets, our Friday night video hero Brother Bob’s career was tragically cut short. While engaging in the extracurricular over-indulgence which had already captivated the media, Brother Bob lived out his mantra.
Live hard. Die hard.
Not satisfied with the ordinary humdrum of everyday life, Brother Bob decided early to break free and stake his claim among the elite of the Sunset Strip music scene. Rising quickly to local stardom, the man affectionately known as “Brother from another mother” grew more popular by the minute. Eschewing all but the most attractive female companionship and the most effective mind-altering illegal pharmaceuticals while he worked his craft, Brother Bob spent the majority of his time refining his masterpieces. This, of course, led to the creation of such iconic works as…
“Never Say Goodbye…Unless She’s Worth It”
“We Are the Champions of the Universe and Queen Are a Bunch of Losers”
…and who can forget…
“Cocaine…What Is It Good For?”
Once known to have said, “You know, I don’t care if I f**king die. I just want to get to LA,” Bob laid up in his hotel room with McCoy, bassist Sam Yaffa and guitarist Nasty Suicide to embark on a mammoth drinking binge with Motley Crüe that was always destined to end in total, unmitigated disaster.
Sketchy memories from those in attendance suggest that three to four days into the party, with supplies depleted, a trip to buy more booze was mooted. Vince Neil, heavily intoxicated but, inadvisably, keen to show off his orange-red 72 Ford Pantera sports car, set off for the liquor store with Bob as his passenger.
Disaster ensued.
My deepest condolences to Brother Bob’s family. Here is my video tribute to Brother Bob, the best Friday night video DJ of all time…Home Sweet Home
Bob’s reputation as a chronicler of Friday night videos will indeed survive as formidable.

cut short?
Someone needs to explain the joke.
Brother Bob recently rejuvenated the tradition of Friday night videos. When he didn’t post one this week, I decided to have a little fun.
Dude… Not sure whether to be flattered or offended, but for the effort you put into this post I’ll opt for he former! Thanks and see you next week!
You’re welcome and thank you. Wasn’t meant to offend. Just trying to have a little fun. I figured you were just tied up with the holiday weekend or whatever.
In all honesty, I lifted a couple of the paragraphs with slight modification and a few phrases from the articles surrounding the incident.
I also learned something. I didn’t know that Razzle with his band Hanoi Rocks had a deal with CBS and were rapidly on their way to the big time. Very tragic indeed.
Tied up? I take it you missed my Friday night post featuring songs from Full metal jacket? =8^)
And sad about Razzle – the last track on Shout at the Devil was about him

Yes. I did miss your Friday night contribution. A thousand apologies for the oversight my friend. I will take a second look. I’m usually pretty good at scanning for info, but every once in a blue moon, the pace of information gets the better of me.
Also wanted to be clear that my characterization of you as a hard drinking, skirt-chasing, drug-loving partier was intended to be purely fictional and strictly within the bounds of the rebel hard rock n roller character which fit the story.
R.I.P. Razzle. Enjoy your Memorial Day. God bless!
Just remembered I owed you a few responses. I still drink too much beer, but I caught a skirt @ 11 years ago & as for drugs, I engaged in the occasional hippie lettuce back in the day, but never since getting into govt. contracting. I’ve already warned Sister Babe that when I retire I’ll be growing my hair long again & engaging in the occasional concert enhancement, but nothing more than that. No offense taken & thanks for the kind words!
