A year a go I finally got Sister Babe to watch it with me. Now she finally gets all of the references I make to that film. A week or two afterwards we were gearing up for a road trip and she made the mistake of asking me to go to the basement and get her little backpack. Seeing my face light up, she knew her mistake before she even finished her sentence. I immediately followed up, “I could use a little backpack – MINE’S AS BIG AS A HOUSE! you see i,,, wanted a little backpack… becasue mine was… as big as a house”.
When I returned from the basement, backpack in hand, held it up near my face and said, “Hey, (SisterBabe), (Sister Babe)! The other day I went up to my girfriend and said, “Gee you’ve got a big backpack! Gee you’ve got a big backpack! She asked me why I said it twice, and I said I didn’t…. You see, it was the echo…”
They don’t make ’em like that anymore…
I sure miss the days of inappropriate jokes made in good fun to your buds as any females in earshot would simply roll their eyes and chalk it up to “boys will be boys.” I do think we’re getting back to that. At least in my opinion, most ladies prefer to do their girlie things rather than act as the joke police, and the younger crowd is rapidly questioning why they’re wasting their time doing just that in the face of harmless fun…in the face of harmless fun…in the face of harmless fun. LOL.
Throughly enjoyed, “she knew her mistake before she even finished her sentence.” LOL. Sounds like you have a good one on your hands. Congrats on renewing your vows in a couple weeks!
I’m a big fan of the Drinker, and I’ve not seen Predator for many years. Many thanks, I now know what I’m watching tonight.
Glad to be of service my friend. Bill turned me onto the Drinker by mentioning him in passing. Which video I couldn’t tell you other than it had to do with how younger people were ditching wokeness in entertainment and that movies and gaming are avenues to introduce the conservatism of being attracted to hot women, fast cars and making things go boom to a whole new audience of youth.
Hope you enjoyed the rewatch. I finally figured out why I enjoy watching my favorites over and over. The jokes never get old. You always know what to expect. You can leave the room to take a leak or raid the fridge and return without missing a beat. And last but not least, you don’t have to worry about being ambushed with a social justice lecture!
