Hey blog members, here in Canada, our federal government just voted to suspend any elections for the duration of the pandemic. Yes you read that right, Canada will no longer hold elections as long as the government continues to say there is a pandemic. The worst of this horrible news is that this was done quickly and quietly, with NO OPPOSTITON, and with no public input. Even our so called Conservative party voting in lockstep with the Liberal party, the suspension of elections passed with only 1 “No” vote to 327 “yes.” Canada is no longer a democratically elected country.
The other even more disturbing thing is that this move got no play in the news, now I do not expect our lefty press to say anything about this coup, but even the right wing press like The Epoch Times and The Rebel News did not even report on it at all.

Viva had an episode on that and said that bill is nor really doing anything in the first place, and more importantly it was motivated and done by the *opposition* that currently estimates that JT would win if election were held around now. And it’s just a public stunt to have the elections when he would fall.
Sure, that is still ridiculous, but by far not as much as most other stuff we see from Canada and especially Quebec.

So in order to prevent the dems from winning any seats in the midterms republicans should just let biden decide when the next elections is. I should not need to point out how absolutely stupid that argument is. How do we know that the liberals are ahead in the polls, oh well the government mouth piece media says so, might as well believe CNN’s polls, and use that as a justification for outlawing the electoral process.

Also, for the record, I didn’t say that bill is fine, just it’s not that end-of-the-world and democracy with collusion of all parties to oust the populos, just a tactics of the “conservatives” to gain or at least not lose power. When they see an opening, they have ways to dismiss this bill’s effect and go ahead with the elections.
From the moral perspective, of course it is awful, and exposes the full cnadian parliament (-1 person) and the whole political landscape as #$@#$@#@$. But it is hardly a new revelation. It seams majority of the people there enjoys totaliarian approach and don’t give a damn about things like individual freedom.
well….assuming you’re elections are honest….candaians got what they voted for.
That is for sure, they actively wanted that moron at the helm and my understanding is that they would not even send him packing if there were a snap election right now.
