I have to confess I am really confused. As you all know Gen Milley made news regarding his take on CRT in front of a congressional panel. His comments have me genuinely scratching my head. On May 1, 2021, I had the highlight of my (so far young) career. I personally met and received a coin from (those in the military know what that means) from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen Mark Milley.
It was a wreath-laying ceremony at the National Cemetary of the Pacific (affectionately dubbed the Punch Bowl) in Honolulu, HI. For those who have not been, it is a military cemetery that truly rivals Arlington in its beauty and aesthetic. I was charged with performing TAPS at this ceremony. In attendance were Gen Milley, SEAC Colon-Lopez, the Gov. of Hawaii, and the entire entourage. Needless to say, I was honored to be there.
After the ceremony, Gen Milley offered brief comments to the small party gathered there. During this, he gave a full-throated defense of the US Constitution, our Nation, and our way of life. I have to admit that as a conservative, I was quite proud. “We are a country that enjoys unprecedented freedom and liberty. We are despised because of that freedom. America is the great melting pot and beacon of freedom seen around the world.” (I’m summarizing, of course) He then shook my hand, presented me with a coin, and mentioned that the work I do as a bugler (and military musician) is so important. His wife also gave me a delicious baggie of cookies.
That morning I really felt like he got it right (in so far as I agreed with what he was saying). It was a laudable, pro-America speech that made me proud to serve. This is why his remarks on Capitol Hill really have me scratching my head. I still want to believe that what I heard that morning is the prevailing thought among the high brass. Even if it isn’t, I will continue to serve.

I can fix your confusion. Milley is selling nooses to the left. He just put the critical race theory into the same category as Marx, Mao and the islamists. Know your enemy. He just gave thousands of officers permission to study the foe and has named the foe as Critical Race Theory and the mythic “white rage”, which was the terminology of the false flag actors on 1/6 were using not the Maga people there. Its very cunning because I suspect the Republicans in the room saw it but it went over the head of the Democrats’ including general Austin.
Sadly its gone over the heads of many conservatives that do not know why general officer staff study Marx, Mao, the islamists and the Nazi’s. Remember Mein Kampf is on the West Point reading list too. To know your enemy is to defeat him.
