It’s a pity that companies feel the need to comment on political and social issues instead of just selling decent products at a reasonable price. At the end of the day consumers simply don’t have to buy from these people; I won’t be.
It’s more pity the owners of those companies don’t launch lawsuits immediately when the directors ruin the bottom line just to get some attention. If they were facing the consequences we’d see way less of this kind of BS.
Ben & Jerry’s is ridiculously priced for what you get so …
This is just one more reason I don’t buy that brand.
I never have bought it.
I did, but only once. I got a little tub of “Cherry Garcia” many years ago, sometime in the early 2000’s. It cost too much and it wasn’t particularly better than the cherry ice cream I used to get from Schwann’s at a fraction of the price. That’s the flavor I was looking for, I remembered Schwann’s cherry ice cream from when I was a kid. Now I live where I can get Schwann’s again. Ben & Jerry will have to struggle onward without any help from me.
As I understand it, where they’re going the climate isn’t conducive to ice cream. The sooner they get there the better.
I have read that Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield are Jewish. That makes this move contradictory, doesn’t it? Their political ideology takes precedence.
Soros is also jewish as far as origins, never stopped him to be anti-jewish. No nation is free from having a number of scumbags. Or just ignorant stupid people.
I agree with what Paul Balrog (inside joke) said in reply to you. Jewish people as a whole have as much trouble with their own brother Hebrews as they do with anyone else.
There is something self-destructively contrary in the nature of Jewish people, I’m not being anti-semitic, I’m not criticizing or being racist. I know quite a few Jewish people and have lived in Israel, the Jews I know have discussed this problem with me many, many times.
The Hebrews, even when they directly observed the Hand of God in the Old Testament, had a distinct propensity to disregard what He commanded them to do. I.E. They were told to kill every living thing in the Holy Land when they conquered it and they disobeyed. That disobedience has echoes reverberating down through all of written history and is a part of why there is a problem with “Palestinians” today.
The Nazis didn’t have any problem finding Jewish “trustees” to work for them in the death camps and rarely did a Jewish person in such a position work secretly against his Nazi masters.
There is a significant percentage of Jews living in today’s Israel that think the very existence of their country is an abomination.
A significant percentage of Jews in America are Leftists, and not just in America. Even though Leftist policies are more often than not anti-Semitic and detrimental to Jewish interests. Many Jews in the Soviet Union were staunch Leftists even as their neighbors and even they themselves were persecuted by the Soviet regimes. There’s something about Leftism that some Jews simply will not give up.
Stop and think about that for a minute, does it sound even a little bit familiar? It should, because many White, Western elites act in similar manner contrary to their own interests. For every Jew that acts like Soros there are many counterparts who are non-Jewish in Western Culture.
Why do we perhaps notice the Soros-types more than others? Because it’s easy to stereotype and lump the whole of Judaism together. They have a single commonality that’s easy to identify, they’re all Jewish.
That makes it seem to non-Jews like me (and maybe you but not knowing you personally I can’t speak to that) that they should all be acting together to advance the Jewish condition. That would be the logical, reasonable, proper thing for Jews to do. But they don’t. Why?
Because Jewish people are just like everyone else with the same problems the rest of us have. The Jewish people of the world are just as susceptible to the influences of Evil as we all are.
Just like the rest of us, there are a lot of Jewish people that are also good and wise, who resist Evil and recognize it for what it is.
This argues strongly against anti-Semitism because the fact is that while some prominent Jews might be Evil, like Soros, there are proportionately the same number who are Good. They’re just like everyone else in Western Culture.
So Evil Jews should not be thought of as just Jews, rather if they’re going to be lumped in with any group it should be the Evil which opposes Good group that those people belong to.
This in no way mitigates the shame that Jews like George Soros, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield should be feeling for betraying their own people. It’s just that betrayal is common to humanity and the Jews don’t have a monopoly in that regard.
Mark 14:53-65 and Mark 15:1-5
The Sanhedrin made a mockery of their own court system to charge Jesus with blasphemy and sedition.
Yup, good example of what I was saying. Even though they knew what Moses and the prophets had said about the Messiah and probably knew even better than the common Israelite on the streets due to a superior education — They went against the best interests of their own people and put their personal interests first.
Sort of like people who claim they want to make “voting fair for everyone” then get on a plane and run away rather than actually vote in the office they were elected to.
The difference is that Jesus, being Jew, Rabbi and The Word made Flesh, knew what the Sanhedrin would do and used their actions to achieve his own higher purpose of redeeming humanity. The clowns on a plane are just clowns on a plane and nothing more.
In both cases, those who should have known better used a form of violence against the system they were entrusted to uphold. Not personal, physical violence, violence against the very framework of the structure they were morally and legally bound to support. Which is worse than physical violence because it has the potential to do a lot more damage.
In both cases we have an example of a remarkably similar sort of Evil, one by the Jewish Sanhedrin, one by the non-Jewish, parametrically anti-Semite Democrat Caucus for the legislature of the State of Texas.

There is the Doctrine of Concurrence.
Our Heavenly Father takes the evil actions of men to bring about something good.
Genesis 50:20 is a good example— But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
Joseph’s brothers plotted evil against him and yet God used that to eventually bring about good. As children of God we are to hate evil, but the Lord works out everything to its proper end.
