When we’re wronged or harmed or terrified, how can we dispassionately seek justice or extend forgiveness? If, instead, we commit to take revenge, can we draw up short of surrendering our own humanity? Bill Whittle and Alfonzo Rachel examine the lessons of 9/11.

Bill brings up how forgiveness and mercy are tied together but not identical. The terms can be muddled. So can repentance. It is not feeling sorry, but a change. It’s derived from the military command of “About face!” If you facing the wrong way and the drill sergeant says “About face!”, he does not care about being sorry about facing wrong. He want you to turn around. True repentance brings about change in behavior. If you have to, “fake it until you make it”.
