The President is in Florida. This guy is empty. Was never very bright and now with dementia his attempts to produce a cogent thought are sad and cruel. He should be away from the public gaze.

I still think AOC is exposing of the stuff the left wants said in secret. This indicates that she or someone behind her is a super troll. She makes Project Veritas redundant half the time. A senile or infirm president puts all the power into the hands of the unelected staff like Ron Klain, Jill Biden (though she seems to have been sidelined back to teaching), the woke generals and Soros backed people.
Sky news is split left and right but we have the spectacle of the left being tied up attacking PM Scott Morrison and defending the health departments contradictory polities. The right is freed up to attack Biden, the health department bureaucrats, the labor state premiers with their panicked lockdown forever policies. The right at Sky news are abbot supporters, one, Petra Credlin, is Abbots former chief of staff, they are not huge Scott Morrison fans. Some are big Trump fans. Australia has rejected those voting machines for 30 years straight so we are horrified at the lack of a working US electoral system.
It’s not the feed cuts. It’s not the “they” stuff. It’s not the blank eyes and emotionless face. It’s not the incoherent mumbling. It’s not the creepy whispering. It’s not the obvious confusion playing across his features while he struggles unsuccessfully to find common words. It’s not the sudden turning and walking away without so much as “That’s all I have to say for the moment, thank you”. It’s not the inexplicable and inexcusable bumbling, ineptitude and blatant catastrophic errors all the while being apparently oblivious to public outcry and political damage.
It’s all of that together and what that means. Taking any one thing is easy to explain away, like Scott did. It’s not just any one thing, it’s not even the sum of several things. It’s the whole gestalt.
Someone else besides the tuber that sits behind the desk in the Oval Office is running this country. If you want to know who that person or those people are find out who really appointed the White House Chief of Staff.
You’re not going to get the big picture in a press conference where any given reporter is limited to a question or two. It is obvious someone is aware of that and is playing to the modern 256 character or less Twitter mentality. You get very little information in that mode at all.
Hell, I see it in here too. Even here people are molded into the attitude that anything more than a few sentences, anything hoping to express complex ideas and concepts by application of the full power of language — Might be called a “rant” and OMG we sure as hell don’t want to be “ranting” or “ranters” do we?
Spoiler alert: That’s how you voluntarily dumb yourself down to ineffectiveness. Then the other side just turns up their own volume and drowns you out.

I wanted the Congress to push to have the raw footage of the “interview” with Stephanoplis released. Not to show how much favorable editing they did, but to show how far afield his mind wanders.
As for his eyes, he looks more and more like Walter from Jeff Dunham’s routines every day. Though, to be fair, with the controls Jeff has Walter actually has a broader range of emotions.

Who is “mother” Biden was talking to?
I flinch every time I hear people trying to downgrade Biden (an easy thing to do) in order to get rid of him. Supposing that we succeed, we will now have Kamala Harris as president. Does anyone think that we will have improved the situation?
It won’t matter. It’ll be the same people running the show. And Kamala would just be embarrassing in a different way. Perhaps slightly better than senility. A move to just cackling at everything instead of belligerent outbursts and blackouts at the podium.
Possibly. Because Kackling Kammy is so inept, outrageously far left, and an obvious literal power prostitute that it’s not likely the Democrat Party would dare get behind her like they are behind their ol’ buddy Senile Joe the Hair Sniffer.
It would be political suicide for them. Joe’s having a bad enough effect on the Democrat Party, Kammy would be an undeniable, unmitigated disaster.
If Joe goes down and Kammy steps up, she’ll be about as lame duck as a POTUS can be. Nothing at all will be getting done, either good or bad, she would just be a place-holder and a figurehead. For a year, until the 2022 elections where the Republicans would then sweep the House and Senate. Then she’d be a real lame duck by the numbers and it wouldn’t matter what Democrats do. Congress could effectively block anything Kammy comes up with by cutting funding for it to zero.
Of course this assumes that Democrats have not so inveigled themselves by voting corruption that they are able to choke off the roots of the electoral process. If so the concern then is that the vote actually reflects the Will of the People and not just the degree of cheating Democrats can succeed at.
It seems counterintuitive that a worse President might be preferable to a bad President but that may not actually be the case. When you take the political landscape into account.
There is another plus that I have not heard discussed.
If Joe is removed and Kamala rises to POTUS, there is no VP until one is nominated by Kamala and APPROVED by the Senate. The senate could stay at a 50/50 tie with NO TIE BREAKER. There is no stipulation that the senate has to approve anyone quickly. Any argument about needing a VP for succession is silly, as it would just go to the Speaker of the House (currently Nancy, so watch what you eat Kamala) but after the 22 elections? With a potential Rep Senate Majority and House? Wouldn’t that all make for entertaining TV. In addition to stopping most legislation which is a huge bonus in my opinion.
Probably not going to happen, but one can contemplate over a dram and nice cigar.

Kammy takes office when Joe goes down. Which can happen any time now. It doesn’t matter how Joe goes down. Whether from an impeachment which some Democrats may support both because Joe is killing some of their political careers and some because they think Kacklin’ Kammy will usher in their socialist utopia. (Looking directly at AOC and her scum bunnies.) Or by resignation or a health crisis. All of which are clearly possible.
No VP until after the 2022 elections, which the Republicans are lining up now to sweep if the elections are anything close to fair.
The Senate appoints a Republican as VP. There’s nothing the Democrats can do about it.
Kammy gets impeached. Pick any grounds you like, it’s not like the Democrats had anything solid to impeach Donald Trump, twice, for. Turnabout is fair play and it’s high time the Democrats learned that good and hard.
A Republican takes the Oval Office. There’s nothing the Democrats can do about it and they did it to themselves. Which is deliciously ironic.
There is a Republican in the White House and both Houses of Congress are controlled by his party.
Whatever time remains until the 2024 elections past that point need to focus like a laser on cleaning up the election process so that everyone on both sides can have confidence in the results. Not all Democrat voters are evil but the evil in the Democrat Party is now threatening self rule. That needs to be dealt with in greater urgency than any other situation. Nothing else matters more because if self rule fails then wars, conflicts, political incoherence and social breakdown will follow anyway.
I give this scenario about a 10% chance of playing out. But its fun to dream and important to have hope. The loss of hope means blood in the streets eventually, one way or another.

I read something similar, but the Pres has to make the appointment and the Senate confirms. The hitch was until the elections, with a 50-50 split and no VP for a tiebreaker, we wouldn’t have a Veep. I don’t remember what the theory was for an R controlled Senate after ’22 though.
I would suspect that with the infighting splitting the Dems, we’re in an essential Lame Duck situation right now and will be till ’24.
That may be the actual situation and if so would not be the first time I’ve gotten something wrong in my life. Maybe the second or third … I’m not as correct as Bill all the time.

I heard that Harris does not want the job now and is fighting the 25th amendment idea because if she gets the job in the middle of a crisis then events and conservative media will shred her. While this particular incident can be explained away as press spray, meeting started, end feed; this is a pattern that needs to be kept in the light of day.
If this was one incident, NBD. But it is not, and all of the others need to have an explanation. I don’t recall this happening with Obama and these are much the same players behind the scenes. In truth, Barry loved talking to the press. They were always favorable and edited out his blatant errors.
Between these “cut the feed” moments and not taking questions, it is fair to ask what level of protection is being given by the WH staff and how much the “free press” is colluding with that protection.
The “free press” is if not the largest then at least a major part of the problem, obviously.
I don’t think the Founding Fathers ever envisioned a free press that used its freedom to put not just its thumb but very nearly its whole body on the scales of self rule.
Which is itself remarkable if you think about it. The Founders were masters at understanding and taking steps to minimize the more negative aspects of human nature. They understood the thirst for absolute power very well and took steps to keep it in check.
The free press chose to abdicate its impartiality. In boosting one side and demonizing the other advocating a destructive course for the nation in the name of feel-good emotional politics — Is something I’m sure the Founders either didn’t dream could happen or could conjure up no remedy to such a thing.
Which means it is the very thing that the enemy(s) of liberty would eventually stumble upon and use.
Even back in the days of the early Republic, the free press took sides but those sides were balanced automatically by the market. If you advocated for one side too heavily the other side didn’t buy your papers.
Media concerns like CNN have been hemorrhaging viewers and subscribers and thus revenue for several years now. That does not seem to make a bit of difference to them.
Being as self-interest is a primary, if not the primary driver in human behavior it’s curious that the free press isn’t motivated by massive revenue loss.
Or by potential market and revenue gain either. Fox is now the most profitable network and holds the lion’s share of the cable market news-wise.
Greg Gutfeld’s “Gutfeld!” show is now at the top of late night ratings and very comfortably head and shoulders above the competition. Obviously people are sick not of political commentary and “comedy” but in particular of Left aligned feeble attempts at delivering those things. It only took Gutfeld! a few weeks to soar over everything else in the time slot. I never miss an episode myself, though I watch it on the Fox News website and block all the commercials …
So there must be some other self interest involved with the free press.
I wonder what that is? We know that people like George Soros are channeling massive amounts of money into various socialist and social schemes and there are other source of capital too. I find that unconvincing because the carrot offered by the market is bigger and more sustainable. So the amount of money they can muster by non-market means is no way sufficient to account for the phenomena we’re witnessing in the free press.
This is very curious. It’s a puzzle that must be solved and remedies adopted or it will be ruinous. Just as the Founders crafted means to keep political power in check while not making government useless, the same needs to be considered now for the free press.

It supports one of Scott’s points: That a president may not have to do any of this stuff, constitutionally, but it makes him look bad if he doesn’t. Especially when Biden stands out, so obviously and so negatively, from The One and Orange Man in this particular respect.
It is a Big Deal, as you say, because now this happens Every Single Time.
One thing Mr. Trump did makes Biden’s weakness stand out even more (and plays a bit of hell with Scott’s implication that “press sprays” typically get shut down quickly so the principals can work in private): More than once Pres. Trump let the cameras roll long, long past that normal shut-down time, to the point where it became a subject of commentary itself.
It made Trump look good. This current behavior, sez Capt. Obvious, makes Biden look bad. Yet it appears keeping him corralled is the best option, from his handlers’ points of view. Sux to be them.
We’d do well to heed Scott on this advice on which battles we pick. He’s probably right about this “press spray” thing. When we spend too much time barking up a tree where there’s no cat, we look dumb and it makes it easy to dismiss us.
So the correct direction to go would be other examples that were not press sprays, and the multiple statements more than suggesting that Biden is being handled rather tightly.
In my personal opinion, it’s pointless to highlight the hypocrisy of hypocrites who don’t care about their hypocrisy or the truth and fruitless to magnify the incompetence of those such as Biden whom they are hiding behind.

This could easily be an example of how far technology has brought “journalism” from 2008 where video and photographs can be taken from many sources that were not available that long ago and spread through various channels to create a firestorm that should barely light a match.
