Human beings are unique and peculiar among all the animal life on Earth. There is no other species that is near-human enough to be considered as “people”. Not monkeys, apes, porpoises, ants or bees. They all exhibit some social behavior but don’t even come close to humans.

Homo Sapiens means “self aware” and among all the other creatures of the Earth only man has this peculiar quality.

One of the obvious things that makes people unique is the concept of “neoteny”. Which simply describes the fact that unlike all other examples in the animal kingdom human beings take around or even more than two decades to reach full, mental and moral maturity.

One of the markers of immaturity is egocentrism. Which is not only behaving as though the egocentric is the center of the universe but believing that to be so until finally the mind matures and realizes it is not. You see this in children all the time, it’s quite obvious; A kid thinks his parents are getting divorced because of something he did. An immature person speaks for himself claiming to speak for others. Etc. You get the idea.

Strangely enough, one of the markers of evil is that a person thinks they’re the center of the universe too. That they are, will be or can become like God. That they are so wise and so intelligent that they can create their own reality in any way they see fit. The greater both immaturity and a predilection to evil become, the more obvious is manifested The Great Lie. Which is “I will become like the Most High, I will ascend to the Throne of God”. That’s the Lie of Lucifer and it is instructional to understand that whether you have a religious faith or not.

Truly effective, insidious evil does not manifest as obvious evil. It always presents itself as good. Even the Nazis and the many examples of Communist tyranny and murder acted in what they said was for the greater good of their own people. While they slaughtered and oppressed their own people they believed or at the very least claimed they were doing the right thing.

People in the Soviet Gulags still believed themselves to be good Communists and that their torments had to be some sort of mistake or oversight. Even in the horrors of the Gulags they refused to abandon their virtue signalling errors and wanted to be “Good Komrades of the Revolution”. This is not a trivial or vague phenomena, it’s very serious and extremely dangerous.

So if you think you’re not evil, if you claim to be good, clearly what you believe yourself to be without some sort of external yardstick, with no reality check and only the self-serving din of an echo chamber — Can and often will be in fact evil. All unawares to you.

That’s where religious systems come in, whether you believe in any Deity or not. Even an actual atheist has to admit that a society motivated by orthodox religious values is the better situation. He might not like or agree with the religious system but he’s a fool if he wants to relegate it to the landfill of history then he is not being honest with himself or anyone else.

Because what we saw with the Nazis, those Communist tyrannies and what is happening all around us today is the result of people deciding they’re not evil all on their own. In all these cases where the social compact has gone south in a major and devastating way there is shared a single point of failure. The turn from God to their own placebo morality.

All of that said, obviously some religious systems are preferable to others. Islam is actually a political system with the religious aspect being no more than the beard on the face of the prophet. You cannot be a “good Muslim” if you do not follow the bloodthirsty, horror soaked teachings of Mohammed. Some day Muslims may reform their own faith and grow into something less dangerous to the world but that day isn’t here yet.

My preference is Christianity. The Christian Faith is the Faith of our Founders. What they created in this Nation was based on their own Christian principles. Those principles have played out and payed off over the years in an astounding manner. This has laid the foundation for the greatest, wealthiest, most free, most prosperous, strongest nation that mankind has ever seen. That’s pretty hard results to argue against.

Still, even some people who consider themselves Conservatives argue against Christianity. They’re not atheists, they’re anti-theists. They’re also not doing the rest of us any favors because Freedom of Religion, whether they like it or not, is such a core principle that it is protected in an ultimate manner by the U.S. Constitution and the very first Amendment in the Bill of Rights. The Founders did not craft that First Amendment to protect the government from the Church, they did it to protect the Church from the government.

Be aware of this, that anti-theist has the freedom not to believe in any religion but he has no right to attack you and your beliefs because you differ with him. I know several atheists, sadly one of them is my best friend and a very smart man. Real atheists, including my friend, acknowledge everything I’ve said here. An anti-theist is just a wolf in wool garb. He’s practicing a religious belief that is every bit as Godless and skewed as the religion of Neo-Marxist Leftism and will eventually bring on the bloodshed of religions like Islam. For the very reasons I have taken the time to explain above.
