She is Bart Stupak.Where were the Dems defending Republicans who were harassed in cafes, on flights and in restrooms when Kavanaugh was being burned at the stake? How soon we forget. The Leftists have big plans for Sinema as a senator in AZ. She is getting her name out there and they will use her in many other ways. Good Lord, are we all just suckers?
Do not fall in with the “poor” Sinema meme. Just wait a while and you will see that this was a set up. Are we just plain stupid or what? Have we learned nothing????
Or she wants to be Potus in 24 and is putting together her position as a moderate Dem well in advance to make a distinction between Kamala and any other D that will run. (N.B.: I am presuming Joe not running due to inability to speak and perhaps inability to reach room temperature).
Depends what she wants her “reward” to be. Is it better for her politically to stick it to Joe and look like the moderate we were told that he actually was?
What I most remember about Sinema was a video of her laughing while telling an audience of her surprise that voters actually voted for her! It’s as if she was tickled that AZ voters were so dumb that they couldn’t figure out she was a Leftist Dem running in a red state. She is a piece of work as President Trump would say. Sinema is no moderate! She’s farther Left than that.
Oh not saying she IS a moderate, just that she wants voters to THINK she is. With media help, she can easily do that.

And also the fault of all democrats who didn’t call for this type of BS to stop when it “just” Ted Cruz or Rand Paul or some other R senator.

BTW – this is not (just) to get Sinema to change her mind, it is to get others who might go against the woke tide to see what will come to them if they dare do so.
I don’t think the Dems are going to consider this “their fault” because Sinema isn’t one of them anymore. She isn’t with them, so she’s against them, and all tactics are now valid. She is no longer a Democrat, woman, or any other special tag. The same that happened to blacks or other women. Leave the reservation, you’re now an outlaw.
I keep wondering if either Sinema or Manchin would actually threaten to change from D to R or even I and caucus with the R, thereby making Mitch SML again by removing the tie. Suddenly, Chuckie would not get to set the agenda and chairmanships change. That is quite the hole card to flip if people keep following you into the bathroom and harassing you.
I’ve read others making similar speculation and on Manchin it seems he just knows how to work the system and is a full Dem. but since he has leverage is using it for his own ends.
Sinema might be in a different situation as one person made the claim that bucking the Wash press would help her at home, making me think AZ might not care for Wash opinions or even go the opposite way they’re told. I am not sure if either are going to be up next year so that might not be a threat to them.
Neither of these are up for re-election in 22, but Mark Kelly is in AZ. That should get interesting if the AZ GOP can get off its butts.
Chucky is up and there are rumors of AOC giving him a primary challenge.
Only 14 Ds to defend themselves, 20Rs including 2 retiring. GA most likely to go R again (go Herschel) but we should take a run at CO and NV and AZ.
The real threat to going Independent is to Schumer and any D who has a chair position. Sinema has a lot of Senatorial power right now. Wonder what her equivalent to 30 pieces of silver would be.
A lot of that will depend on how much she wants to do in the Senate. We’re watching Ron Johnson to see if he will run or not and while he initially promised to only run for 2 terms he hasn’t announced yet he won’t. Might just be playing games with oppo research and swamp ad companies, making them wait until next year. He has a chair too (or did) but he’s also got a business he owns, and that might outweigh a chair.
We have reached a place that has no resemblance to our rule of law that was established in our founding documents. This is what allows illegal aliens to not only come here and collect government subsidies, but to harass and demand even more. It makes me sick that this is what we have come to.

They could show up anywhere? Anytime? My reaction is pretty simple and crass:

If the harassers are illegal aliens, how is it they’re students at Arizona State University? Oh, wait. Illegals are admitted to most U.S. colleges and universities and guess what? Many of them get the “in-state” tuition benefit as well!

If they are illegals, how did they get on the plane? And, how did they know that Sinema was going to be on that flight?
It’s entirely possible to fly on a U.S. carrier without a driver license. State-issued ID is all they need. The so-called “enhanced ID” requirement in order to fly was pushed out to May 2023 by the TSA. Due to Covid, of course.
As to them knowing that Sinema was flying on that particular flight, well, let me don my tinfoil hat for a moment. That’s where people like Soros come in. They know that Sinema needs to return to D.C. on Monday, so they do a little digging. Probably have some “assistance” on the airline reservation system. Money buys everything, even loyalty.
If this becomes more than a 2 off, it will only end the same way the 2018 harassment of Normals out at dinner, the gas station, etc. did – when someone starts screaming in Pelosi’s face. That’s when we reach the “Both sides need to stop and a return to civility” stage
