Nothing to Hide? Solving the Mystery of Southwest Airlines Flight Cancellations

With more than 2,000 Southwest Airlines flights cancelled or delayed in recent days, speculation ran rampant that pilots, upset about the recent COVID-19 vaccine mandate, had staged a sickout.

I heard that the reason they called in sick was if they were getting fired, they would have lost all sick leave they had accumulated. Why throw that away? I didn’t when I retired from the government. I burned all of mine up.

SOME of the things influencing my stand against this “mandated” vaccination drive includes….
my company’s HR department’s response to my concerns on the issue of their lack of consideration of the survivor of COVID not needing a “vaccination”…. that being…. “antibodies and any acquired immunity you may have to COVID19 is no substitution for the vaccination…” THAT degree of busted brainwork is owed a zero-zip-NADA degree of compliance, on my part, for anything short of their determining my authorized lunch period….
THEN…. there’s the aspect of THE STATE co-opting private entities to accomplish their otherwise UNCONSTITUTIONAL agenda – seems that would make the “private entity” an active agent of the STATE…. involved in eviscerating my civil & constitutional rights…
and… then there’s just the use of coercion-intimidation and duress to exploit the EMPLOYER’s ultimate superior position (employment/financial security) to extract compliance with the STATE’s agenda…
All these are considered long before my nagging concerns of any long term unknowns as to the possible-as yet to be determined-negative results of the mechanics of the “vaccines” being introduced into the general population’s natural immune system…. (once VAX’d you can never be unVAX’d…)
Semper FI

we are way past herd immunity – but the vaccine is being used as a compliance measure- get it or don’t work, in some states or cities – get it or do not go to stores or restuarants ( so starve). now you have transplant patients being told they need a vaccine to get thier transplant- ( something that any transplant patient would be told NOT to do only a few years ago)

If only… If only the SWA CEO had a spine he would stand up say, “I stand with my employees! We will forgo the federal contracts and continue our mission as a passenger airline.” In that one move, he would be *THE* *MAN*. What kind of employee loyalty would that engender. If only.

I agree that that would engender a swell of “employee loyalty”; however, let’s follow the scenario alittle further. The fascists in the federal government would then disqualify SWA operating at all airports because TSA would be disallowed from performing its jack-booted duties for SWA, and no TSA “security” checks result in no approved passengers. Such a scenario would be the death knell for any airline.
The current political nightmare began to unfold long before the current administration. I still despise both of the Bush Administrations for their assertions that Islam is a religion of peace, the creation of DHS and the imposition of TSA. This tyranny began long ago, and we’ve been hornswoggled for decades.

I was going to get the jab when it first came out but had to wait until those under 65 could get it. By that time, I decided I was not at a high risk to catch it, or if I did catch it, to be hospitalized or die. I looked at my county stats which showed I had a 1 in 10 chance of getting it, and after that, a 98% chance of recovery. I also decided that acquired immunity would be better in the long run than getting the shot, then getting who knows how many booster shots. It’s been around for almost two years now and I still haven’t caught it.
I think a lot of the vaccinated seem to think the unvaccinated are crawling with COVID-19. I have a friend who is vaccinated, then caught COVID and recovered with little or no symptoms. When she found out I am unvaccinated, she ran out of the restaurant we had been in for several hours without a word, just jumped up and ran. I’ll probably never hear from her again, which is sad because we have been friends for 12 years. She was afraid of me, even though she has no idea how many unvaccinated people were in the restaurant. This disease has made people crazy scared who really shouldn’t be. It’s baffling.

For me, the craziest part is the way we have responded to a virus that can have “little or no symptoms.” Remember that from the beginning, we were scaremongered into compliance because you can “have it and not know it,” or just think it’s a flu. This is the first time in our nation’s history that we have forced quarantines – and now vaccinations – on people with no symptoms. I think I’ve probably had it already, because around New Year’s of 2020, both my wife and I had what we thought at the time was the flu, but it lasted for a couple weeks instead of the usual couple days. It’s clear that for the vast majority of people – vaxxed or unvaxxed – this virus isn’t nearly as deadly as it’s being made out to be. I don’t for a moment deny that for some people, it’s serious, but we’ve been very effectively programmed to be terrified of shadows. And now we’re afraid of everybody, vaxxed, unvaxxed, symptoms or not.

Not all countries are marching in lock step with the WHO and the CDC. Scandinavia in particular are rejecting vaccines. Finland has delicensed Moderna’s version. I suspect because they all have the same effect they will de list them all soon. The country is almost disease free with the capacity and willingness to use Zinc Ionophores to deal with pop up cases. The same with a dozen third world countries that can afford Ivermectin etc but not the vaccines even with the profit free deals the UN is pushing.

Now that some have identified the spike protein as a problem there will be a whole bunch of big pharma scientists and independent researchers looking at a way to scrub the spike protein from the system and fix the virus the right way.

They don’t even bother to put in the mRNA matching the recent variants. Obviously play to prolong and milk the plandemic as much as possible. And people are not even asking those most basic questions of how they can get away with all the BS.

The report I saw said that all of the pilots have accumulated days of stress leave and it expired soon. With lockdown, etc, etc, they have not used it up. The vaccine demand was the last straw and they all cashed in their stress leave at once. lol. Now a few hours after the boys went to air the CEO is backing away from the cliff, saying he does not support the corporates of vaccine mandates.

The simple answer to how management would approve such sick leave is that the middle management staff were effectively on strike too. The boss was in the dark. We already know he’s clueless.

Poor Scott- he drank the Kool Aid. He actually thinks that he “protected his family” by getting the jab. My father got it, and last week he was asking me if I thought he should get the booster. Duh.
My question to Scott is what I heard a lady say the other day: Why do the protected need to be protected from the unprotected by forcing the unprotected to use the protection that didn’t protect the protected in the first place?

I’ve learned not to pause while I’m watching a video on billwhittle.com, because the video won’t start again.
Please tell me it’s me and not a web site problem.
I have a back stage pass!

Every once in awhile the Rumble video stops on me. If I wait a few minutes, it starts up again. I noticed the waiting when I was in the middle of something at work, a video paused and rather than refreshing or anything else to try and start it up again, I kept working. In a few minutes the video started again. This has happened several times and enough that I am pretty sure it was Rumble’s issue and not mine.

I was on the fence because I already had CV19 and wondered why I even needed to engage in that regard and because I knew so little about the technology behind them. September 9th’s edict prompted me to do more investigating. I not only determined that my natural immunity was more than adequate protection, but I also discovered moral objections in conflict with my deeply held religious beliefs. Thanks Joseph “Stalin” Biden, wouldn’t have looked without your, oh so friendly, push.

A while back Bill and Co. said in a video that it takes a person to just say “no” to get the ball rolling, It takes a kid who can see the Emperor has no clothes to say it out loud and then there’s a stampede of the like minded.

So a member who was on a jet flying somewhere, no doubt paying for WiFi on the airliner because he’s not supposed to be using his phone, chimed in and said he had pulled his face diaper down to his chin and would put it back if they made an issue of it. Brave, brave hero …

That’s not the kid who dares say the Emperor is naked, that’s a sneaky opportunist. It’s not going to make a bit of difference if you pull your mask down on an airplane and then put it back when they tell you to.

These pilots on the other hand, may very well be the Americans that finally speak up and call the Emperor a naked idiot … To great effect.

It doesn’t do any good to beat your head against the wall. It does nothing if you refuse to wear your mask after you’ve boarded and the aircraft is in the air. You’re not a hero, you’re just going to get a headache. You’ll get banned from flying and likely the cops will be waiting for you when you land if you actually make an issue of it.

There’s a difference between being able to have an effect and just shooting yourself in the foot so you can bleed all over everything. Pick your ground and choose your battles so you can hope to accomplish something, not just get yourself thrown in the clink.

Well- that old tale was written wrongly. The true ending to that story is that when the kid pointed out that the king was wearing no clothes, three of his thugs grabbed the kid and stabbed him in a back alley. Those that saw what happened to him proclaimed their admiration of the king’s clothes even louder.

That’s the way it would work out in real life anyway. If the fable were not a lesson in dangerous conformity that is.

Which is why it’s important to choose your battles as I said above. Futilely banging your head on walls or foolishly getting dragged into an alley and beat up by government thugs do not have the desired effect.

I’m all for effective, workable rebelliousness that has an impact. Even if the impact is small. These Southwest pilots and employees have the right idea and it is impressive.

What I’m not at all impressed by is someone who thinks they’re striking a blow for Liberty, God, The American Way, Apple Pie and Mom by pulling down their mask while flying, then pulls it back up again when asked to and considers himself a hero thereby.

Here’s a good rule of thumb. If your actions have no consequences or if the consequence is only to you and plays into the hands of the opposition, then it’s probably not worth the effort and is anything but heroic.

Useless empty gestures are not helpful. Neither is getting your ass in a sling by some sort of misguided civil disobedience. You can heroically strike your enemy’s fist with your nose all day long and not accomplish a damn thing.

Yeah, I know. So what information does that actually impart to us?

That either they don’t care if we get sick OR that the threat isn’t nearly so dire as they make it out to be. Or most likely a combination of both and weighted towards the latter.

When Barack Obama, having been President of the United States and thereby having access to the greatest stores of real knowledge known to humanity — Chooses to buy an expensive mansion in a coastal area that he himself said is under threat from “climate change” … It tells you that he’s not concerned on a personal level about climate change at all. It tells you that “climate change” is a political and not a scientific concern.

When Gavin Newsom, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and all their ilk go to restaurants and throw parties where no one wears a mask except the servants … What does that actually say? It says that they’re not at all worried about COVID and that they know masks are useless.

When the actions of people in power do not match their words, it’s the actions not the words that are the real carriers of information. In fact, this is so true and so obvious that you are considerably better served if you only apply the information in their actions and ignore their words completely.

So it should be no surprise to you that the Biden Administration would do what you’re pointing out in your reply to me. What is the Biden Administration really saying by their acts in this regard?

They’re saying that they value foreign illegal aliens more than they do Americans and that their claims about COVID are all bullshit.

No surprise there either. They hate America and Americans. We’re the ones keeping them from ascending to their royal thrones and denying them the power and privilege they think is their due. If we won’t give them what they want, they’ll just replace us and lie to our faces until it’s too late to do anything about it.

None of this is terribly hard to understand. What’s hard to understand is how they’re managing to get away with it. Other than Fox News and a handful of internet entities like we’re using right now … They own the press. Propaganda has always been a foundational tool of conflict. They’re not doing anything surprising there either.

Why are “we” letting them do this? “WE” are not, that’s why you’re here, that’s why I’m here, that’s why Bill Whittle launched this site when things got to the point where he could make a living from enough subscriptions. The site continues to grow. Fox News ratings continue to climb. Hell, the show “Gutfeld!” has pretty much taken over and dominated late night ratings because people are sick and tired of comedy that’s not funny.

Eventually there will come a tilting point. The only real question is how much damage we’ll sustain between now and then, and will that damage be repairable or will it lead to a permanent collapse and slide to total destruction of our way of life.

The adverse reactions, including death, to getting the “vaccine” are being grossly under reported / unreported, while the infection rate of those who have been “vaccinated” is steadily climbing, and also being under reported. A fully “vaccinated” person can both get and give the disease, and it is more likely that “vaccine” resistant strains would be coming from “vaccinated” people than from those who have no “vaccine” in their systems for the Wuhan Flu to mutate around. It is the “vaccinated” that actually pose the greater danger to society by the introduction of more deadly “advanced strains” of this wholly manufactured “disease” and pandemic!

From the CDC, only 5% have died of wuflu. The count is so off that legislatures are calling for a committee to dig into why it’s been so bad… MONEY.
I suppose it could be said that most people know someone that caught it, but my family just got this in the beginning of Sept and before that I knew of no one that had it personally. No one from work or at the bar or family. I know 0 people that have died from this. After going through this I know for certain it is the most over-hyped pile of garbage that I have ever heard of. Yeah 2 weeks is a long time but no one likes being sick, it’s just the flu with a longer symptom profile, probably that double CGG “feature” Fauci paid for.
If you want the vaxx go ahead, I’ve read enough about normal vaxxs to know it takes 10-15 years to know the side effects but if you are ok being the guinea pig for something that won’t be out of clinical trials until next year then I hope my misgivings about it are wrong.

One mouse turns to the other and says “I don’t know about you, but I’m not taking this vaccine until the human tests are over”.

The reason why people are resisting the bullying to get the injection is that the lies, misdirection, intentionally skewing statistics to follow the narrative they’ve invented, the censorship and flip-flops have destroyed the credibility of government, its agencies, doctors and scientists. Our trust has been crushed and likely will never come back.
I want to share this link with my fellow members. https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/letter-to-a-colluder-stop-enabling
The author, Margaret Anna Alice’s articles, essays and stories can be accessed at her substack, but some may only be for subscribers. Anyway, she’s a very good writer and thinker and I don’t believe you will find her article a waste of time. I came across her essay at American Digest

and I highly recommend going there just to read the comment section and her replies.

Jim Webb, in his book Born Fighting: How the Scots-Irish Shaped America, talks about this very attitude. In a nutshell, the Scots-Irish blazed the trails into the new frontier to escape the government control that they believed was encroaching on their rights. He talks about Scots-Irish settlers who left some of the most fertile land in PA because they thought that the government was meddling too much in their freedom. In many ways, this has been the hallmark of the American psyche – we WILL NOT be told what to do by the government regardless of whether or not it may be beneficial.

Only now there’s not many places to escape to unless you are very rich. Kinda jealous of Robinson Carusoe myself.

My over 65 wife and I are still recovering from Covid from beginning on October 5th.
We were both Pfizer vaxxed last March.
Since the beginning, I have been out and about as much as permitted; enduring the brief month or so of closures; wearing mask where required and constantly being told to cover the nose, and then did not again…
We drove across country several times, visiting children and grandchildren and they came here (Minnesota) several times for family celebrations.
All our kids caught Covid – some serious; some more than once?
I flew once back and forth – nose uncovered mostly.
(And determined never to fly again unless absolutely critical for some bizarre emergency)
I know friends or family of my friends who have died.
I know several people who were seriously ill and intubated in the beginning.
We were both very ill for several days but nothing life threatening at all.
There is NO “data” on masks; Covid; vaxes; or really anything else in any of this Fauci bullshit or the sycophant media hysteria.
Rather, if every Fauci and other media bloviation on Covid ALWAYS included well written (it could even be sensational and shocking) data on comparisons to present sick rates with co-morbidities; age; vax status; deaths; hospitalizations; sickness effects; etc., then people could simply evaluate real facts and data and decide what to do.
Asches to Asches…

Of course there is data on masks. All kind, from several decades since they are in use. As the pandemic started the conclusion was even printed on every box: this thing provides no protection from COVID. Maybe it is still there.
With the delta it’s probably no longer relevant, but with the original version that had low infection chance and short distance the in-door mask usage actually HELPED to spread the infection (obviously requiring people who did have virus to throw around.) And nullified the effect of distancing.
Normally you breath out of your nose. That has not many droplets to start with (assuming no flow, sneeze, etc). And it travel downwards. Sitting out on the floor level.
Breathing out through mask splits the droplets, increase the air speed and most of it goes out up and sideways. So the impact distance immediately is increased to multiple, and those droplets will remain in the air for hours instead of minutes. In the area others breath in. So that’s your “protection”.
Also, probably more importantly, most of the droplets are emitted when you speak. Mask, no mask, you get magnitudes more out that way. If spread was the target, the measure would be to shut up in stores, keep cellphones in your pocket, and especially don;t go over to people to start a loud argument on how they wear what or how they behave. No one even mentioned the elephant.
Masks were invented for social purpose.

Yep.
If we survive, Fauci and his Death Plague will be regarded as War Criminal and War Crimes of a magnitude previously unknown.
Bill’s piece today on the Coup of the Woke last November is worth watching.
They have been ramping up their forces for the last 20 plus years and, tested the waters against Trump for the last 4 years.
Now, all the Fauci’s have taken over and control every apparatus of power.
And… in the end… Bill says we win!
I agree.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott most recently signed into Texas law a prohibition of medical mandates. With their corporate headquarters in Dallas, does not Southwest now have a lawful recourse to reverse the mandate in accordance with Texas law?

My understanding is that Abbott signed an executive order not a law. If that is true, then this does not have the enforceable weight of legislation. Same logic applies to the majority of mask mandates, jab mandates, etc. However, just because it’s not a law does not mean that the jackboots of law enforcement won’t assert their collective will.

No one involved is calling it a “sick-out” because that’s illegal and they would be terminated. I did hear that they were told that if they didn’t use their sick and personal days accrued before they were fired for not getting the vax, they would lose them. So they are using those up but we all know why they are doing it. It’s no secret.

One additional issue a pilot may consider on getting the vax is if they develop the (not common, but not uncommon) side-effect of myocarditis. The pilot would immediately lose the Class 1 Medical Certificate and be grounded. I’m not sure what the specific rules are but it may be difficult to ever get it back. Career ended. “Game over, man” — Bill Paxton in Aliens.
Oh, and… Let’s Go Brandon!

I had Covid-19 last year, and, 2 weeks ago, I had Covid Delta. I have had No jabs. I’m approaching 70 yrs old this year 2021, and am fat. I’m obviously still alive to write this. I never went to the hospital, nor called my doctor. Covid-19 lasted 3 days, Covid Delta lasted 2 days. Both were handled with bedrest, drinking fluids, and a couple doses of herbal cold remedies: Elderberry syrup and Umcka (yes, spelled correctly) a S. African geranium powder mixed in water.
For almost 2 years I’ve been researching online: Covid, the jabs, and the “prohibited drugs” of Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine. My conclusions: the drugs work, herbal cold remedies work, and the jabs are dangerous. Pathologists report that jabbed people who died have many anomalies in their cells, including damage to heart cells (heart cells don’t heal, unlike cells from skin and other organs). Masks turn you into a super-spreader and deprive you of oxygen (happened to me: fainted, fell and ended up needing 4 stitches). Lockdowns cause suicide. If you believe differently, so be it. I urge you to do your own research – the US Govt has been lying about this all along.
I don’t know anyone who died from Covid, but I do know a man whose wife killed herself. She did not leave a suicide note, but he said she was very worried by the constant panic-inducing Covid News reports by mainstream media. I’ve read that 5 times as many California teens died of suicide as died of Covid. Wishing you all good health.

Again Scott Ott proves he doesn’t understand the science or even basic liberty. Come on Brother at this point those of us not taking the Jab will NEVER take the jab no matter how much “re-education” you provide.

Given that only 50-60% of the US population gets a flu shot, expecting much more than that for a new type of vaccine is unreasonable.
The 70% number was always an unachievable goal, and unreasonable target.

…and they have NO IDEA what effects modifying someone’s DNA will have long term. They have NOT released animal studies. They have NO long term testing. They have proven to not be trustworthy is any way. They say we follow the science while completely ignoring and contradicting the science! I had covid. I am anti-body positive. I have robust immunity and it will be a cold day in hell before I allow them to use me as another lab rat!

This American way was well established, however the the immigration policy, the education set up etc has eroded this excellent trait to the extent it probably isn’t practised by the majority

I can tell you why healthcare workers are not getting the vaccine. It’s because the majority of them have already contracted the disease at some point over the past 18 months and, for the first time that I know of, they are requiring people to get vaccinated for a disease they already contracted. And, before anyone tries to imply that this is no different than the flu vaccine, remember the vaccine was based off from the original variation. This would be like forcing people to get vaccinated for the flu for this year using the flu vaccine from a previous year.

Get the jab. Don’t get the jab. Justifications vary either way, and many are unique to an individual’s situation. Personally, I don’t care who chooses to get it or not. In order to remain employed, I was forced to do so by my employer, because I am not in a position to take the financial hit of becoming unemployed within the span of the one month after the edict was declared. This does not mean that I am in favor of this thing. In fact, I believe that the medical risks to an individual outweigh the benefits; however, the medical risks associated with any of these drugs appear to be minimal to individuals without current health problems. Of course, those risks vary from one person to the next. because of my choice, my wife has been afforded the option to be fired from her job for refusing the jab. This is a win for me, and I take such victories, however small, when I can.
All that being said, I oppose mandating these drugs for mass consumption, and I will stand next to any who refuse to submit.
Fear is the controlling factor. Too many people are afraid of things that they don’t fully-comprehend, and this rallies them into zealous mobs that cannot think rationally — whether they oppose the injection mandates or not.

Would you play Russian Roulette if it meant that otherwise you would lose your job? Because that’s what this is, and it’s Big Brother who is telling you to hold the gun to your head.

The risks of death between Russian Roulette and taking one of the available jabs is many orders of magnitude different. The largest cylinder I’ve seen on a revolver holds 8-10 rounds, and the probability of death approaches 100% very quickly with every click. Conversely, the probability of death from any of the WuFlu shots is much less than 1%, and that probability does not change with each injection. Needless to say, your argument needs some work.
That being said, I principally-oppose mandating these drugs for mass consumption, and I will stand next to any who refuse to submit.

Are you sure? Can you provide the 10 year study to prove your assertion? Fact: there are NO long term studies of this MRNA or any other MRNA “vaccine” in humans. Fact: the scientists have no idea what the vast majority of the human DNA genome does. Fact: We are seeing significant complications related to these experimental biological agents. Some other interesting tidbits 1. The “vaccine” was supposed to remain at the injection site. It doesn’t, it spreads all over the body, concentrating in female ovaries for some unknown reason. 2. The spike protien was thought to not be cytotoxic, but it turns out that the spike protien alone does considerable damage to human organs. 3. The nano-lipid suspension where the MRNA string is delivered readily crosses the blood brain barrier… so these agents are depositing in people’s brains! 4. The VAERS database currently has over 16,000 deaths post jab… and that isn’t being talked about, but they estimate that only 10% of adverse reactions ever get reported. The fact that the government, and media are doing more to cover up serious adverse reactions then investigate what these so called vaccines are really doing makes me suspicious. Natural immunity has been shown to be between 14 and 40 times more effective than these “vaccines” and the power players are still insisting that people who have it get injected anyway… Does that make any sense to you?

Ah … perhaps I need to clarify that my claims are based upon the short term results of millions of recipients. I neither claimed any knowledge of long term outcomes nor did I assume such clarification was necessary for intelligent discourse about the inflammatory usage of a Russian Roulette metaphor in this context. But … here we are.
As the data currently exists, the measured probabilities for death from WuFlu injection are currently significantly lower than that of a game of Russian Roulette, about which I was commenting.
Just because significant complications from the jab exist for a small fraction of the world’s population, does not indicate significant risk for any individual. That fraction of population will likely grow — the extent to which only more time will tell. Perhaps the lifespans of those who have taken the jab are shortened, but measuring such things over the long term is increasingly difficult as time progresses — especially for an individual.
That said, there are alternative consequences (some are unacceptable) if we as individuals choose to live in fear of things beyond our control. For example, choose to comply with a mandate and keep one’s job, or choose to refuse and go bankrupt. Of course, such outcomes are also dependent upon individual circumstances, which cannot be generally applied to an entire population.
In general, “you do you and I’ll do me” is the proper approach for all of us to take rather than inflaming the general conversation with words equating/conflating the risks of death from COVID, the shots, and an insane game of Russian Roulette.

Especially when we observed that the accuracy in the “died FROM” claims is in the single digits. We can take as fact that plenty people died. From there benefits are attached to claims on “how”, that drive the claims.

TBH even wthout that death is shocking enough to create urge to blame something, someone, fabricate an explanation — these days just accepting that we’re all bound to die is off the table. And connecting it to one’s living habits that created all that mass of fat, diabetes, hypertonia and other victims even more so.

Scott, I’m not against the at-risk getting the vaccine. It’s easy enough to prove that they’re lying about how at-risk various groups are, but certainly there’s a knee on the curve somewhere in the 60-70 age range where the risk rises dramatically, and even below that age range there’s a decent argument for risk vs. reward of the vaccine – but now we’re talking about vaccinating children, where the risk from the virus is so abysmally small that ANY additional risk will statistically kill children. So since they’re irrationally pushing vaccines to a population where we KNOW the vaccines are more risk than the virus, I cannot trust their encouragement of getting the vaccine at any older demographic.

Yeah. Good old days we, the oldsters ran to sacrifice ourselves to save the children. Now instead happy to put the children at risk in idle hope to gain a little more of imagined safety.

My younger brother had a “lima bean” episode with my Grandmother that involved a tuna salad sandwich. He was 3 or 4. He wouldn’t eat the sandwich for lunch, and he wasn’t offered any other options, so he went without lunch. When the family sat down for dinner that night, we were served spaghetti and my brother was served that same tuna salad sandwich. He ate it. Grandma won that one, and she never served him tuna again, but I’m still not sure my brother ever forgave her for forcing him. My brother is in his 50’s now, and is completely resistant to being told what to do. He got the jab long before it became mandated, because he chose to. If he had been told he had to, I know he wouldn’t have gotten it.

Well, some children never grow up and remain easy to control. Enough to just insert a “Are you a chick, McFly” and rational thinking is off the table.
Most of the shit we observe around this plandemic is direct fallout of that: the media fuels the fear, then the “saviors” step in with all the great ideas that got implemented and accepted including masks, lockdowns, passports, surveillance, reporting and harrassing neighbors, and it’s just the beginning.

I did not want to get the vaccine. For my age, I am in absolutely excellent health and have not even had a minor cold in almost seven years now. But, after an extended “vacation” from my last job of 13 years, I needed to go back to work. I got the jab out of the practical realization that it would make getting hired easier. (California, of course.) I figured I was healthy enough to survive it if I was one of the lucky few to have an adverse reaction. I did have a half day of aches and fever after the second shot (Moderna) and that was it. Knock on wood. Got a new job and I couldn’t be happier. BUT, and its a big one, I didn’t get the shot because someone told me I had too or else.
Steve. I love lima beans too. But they are no longer on the menu as I have gone “Spanish inquisition” on the keto diet and they are strictly forbidden. Sad.

Well, I don’t know anybody that gotten sick or died from the COVID, nor any of my friends. This has been politicized bullshit. Too many lies and inconsistencies. Yes, I have gotten the two shots, Now they are telling me I need another, and at this point, I am telling them to go shove it. I had no side effects from it, or even the soreness one gets from a shot as a matter of course. I don’t care a wit about if you get the shot or not. Good for the pilots at South West.

Scott: you made a free decision to get the vaccine, which is perfectly fine. I did the same thing, but if I was ordered at the point of a gun to take it, I would have pushed back. That’s the kind of person I am.
Bill is right; the current regime wants to change the American mindset, and they’re doing it because the American mindset is incompatible with an authoritarian form of government.

Bill, the mRNA vaccines do not alter your DNA. What they do, essentially, is program your cells to produce its own “vaccine”, and then your immune system responds to that.

Our side makes too big a deal out of the “definition change” here. The previous definition was always inaccurate. The new one is more accurate for past, present, and future vaccines.

There are lots of things to be leery about here, but that isn’t one of them. We should stick to the things we should be leery about. Like the power to mandate these things.

Don’t alter your DNA?
What do you think “program your cells” means?
And we are NOT making too big a deal of the definition change.
They changed the definition to suit the apparent performance of their new shot. Which makes it a LIE.

Did you miss the biology class? mRNA attaches to ribosomes and translates to a protein. That’s all it does. It definitely does not alter the DNA.
Of the vaccines the J&J uses DNA instead of RNA. the claim is that it does not enter the nucleus and can’t integrate. It’s up to you to believe that claim. I honestly see no good reason.
There is one kown way for the mRNA to potentially alter the DNA — if you get infected with a retrovirus (like HIV). That brings the reverse-transcriptase ensim that creates DNA from RNA. Though it’s tailored to process the string that virus came with. And if you have that probably your trouble is not from this vax.
In general, the vax has a long list of actual problems, making up things that are not true are only good to kill the good counter-arguments by mixing them with the BS.

They alter your RNA. But what’s being misunderstood by those who worry about that aspect is that so does a virus. So by definition any vaccine against a virus has to as well.

Not objecting to changes in definitions is a large part of what has gotten us into such a mess that most people think that these shots are “approved vaccines.” They are not. Neither word of that phrase properly applies.

They made up a new definition for “gender” in the 60s. The original definition had to do with word endings, like waitress vs. waiter. The first is feminine and the second is masculine. That’s all the original definition of gender means. It doesn’t apply to people. (It’s more significant in other languages, but in English it’s pretty boring.) But someone started using the term “gender” to mean something about how a person presents himself to others. It got into academic literature and then the general population started using it because they heard it on TV and thought that it was a polite synonym for “sex.”

I am a member of the female sex, not of the “female gender,” which is a contradiction in terms. “Female” can only apply to biological sex. “Gender” only applies to a word like “feminine” or “waitress.” The waitress herself does not have gender, she belongs to a category of biological sex. The word “waitress” has gender.

We used to speak of trans-sexuals, homosexuals, heterosexuals, sex reassignments surgery, sexing kittens and puppies at birth, and so forth. Now birth certificates refer to “gender” instead of sex, and we speak of “transgenders” and “gender affirming surgery,” but as far as I have heard, no one’s talking about homogenders. (Yet.) It is completely nonsensical.

That’s just one small example.

Marxists intentionally change the definitions of words to push the Overton window (or as Bill says, turn the ratchet in one direction) towards their goals of destroying the family, tradition, and history.

So yes, we are right to be skeptical of definition changes, for vaccines or anything else.

That’s a very good explanation of the difference between sex and gender. I like it.

Also, the way I understand it, technically the Phizer vax currently being given is NOT what the FDA approved … it’s a future version of it (but I think all it might amount to is stricter manufacturing rules) … still, THAT was a bait and switch.

But on the vaccine definition change, our side is making way too much of this. There are plenty of real fish to fry. This one is a red herring and it makes us look bad when we chase it.

The purpose of a vaccine has always been to trigger our immune systems to produce antibodies against a particular disease-causing virus. Before this definition change, the only way we had to do it was to introduce weakend or attenuated versions of real viruses into the body.

The mRNA vaccines have the same purpose. And they do the same thing. They trigger our immune systems to produce antibodies against a particular disease-causing virus. They just do it without using an actual virus. This means we won’t have to mass-produce actual viruses as a part of the vaccine manufacturing process. I like that. Producing actual viruses is what got us into this mess in the first place.

We’ve learned things about antibodies and how they work — we’ve learned that antibodies are only looking for certain pieces of a virus. That being shapes on the outside shell of a virus (these shapes are what cause a cell to allow virus to enter it.) Antibodies pretty much just clog that shape so your cells will NOT allow the virus in. There’s a little more to it but essentially that’s how antibodies “prevent” disease (they actually only mitigate it and eliminate it. They can’t stop any virus from entering your body.)

The difference between an mRNA vaccine and an old-school vaccine is that the mRNA vaccines actually act like a virus. They get into your cells and tell them how to make certain shaped protiens (that do not cause disease) found on the outside of a virus, the ones that your immune system actually need to act to neutralize.

So in effect, the mRNA vaccines tell your body how to make its own vaccine and instruct it to do so.

As far as the first “prevent disease” or second “produce immunity” or the latest, “produce protection” … I think the 2015-2021 version was more accurate, as at least it implies the action of your immune system. Main difference being that with mRNA vaccines — the injected mRNA is not what your immune system directly responds to, but rather the protiens it tells your body to make. But the new version of the definition works, too. I just like this bit of the previous one better. And I like that bit of the previous one (that we only had for 6 years) better than its predecessor.

I think they changed it because “produce immunity” meant, to some people, that it would make everybody who took it 100% immune to it – and that’s never been the case with any vaccine. But if you look at “produce immunity” as “produce a lasting immune response” it’s actually more precise than “produce protection”, while ultimately meaning the same thing.

My wife and I have both been jabbed twice. She felt a little tired the next day. I MIGHT have felt a little tired the next day, but it could just have easily been another random case of not sleeping very well that night which happens often enough anyway. In other words, it was nothing noticible. My arm hurt for a couple of days. But that’s also been the case with any vaccine I’ve ever gotten.

That’s a good, succinct, simple explanation of the situation. A couple points I’d like to add are —

Only people opposing this particular vaccine are using the phrase “FDA Approved Vaccine” as a talking point. I’ve never heard it called that by any official source on any side of the discussion. I’ve heard it called effective, efficacious, etc. I have heard the vaccine(s) referred to as having an emergency use authorization, which has it’s own standards and those are not trivial. I’ve never heard the pro-vaccine argument that it was an officially FDA fully approved vaccine that had gone through the entire gamut of testing and study. Whenever I see someone object to calling the vaccine(s) “approved” I know I’m seeing a straw man argument.

The funny thing about that straw man argument is that it makes it sound like the vaccine is not approved or authorized at all, in any way. It makes it sound like the vaccine(s) was developed, distributed and shot into the arms of unsuspecting people without any validation process at all. Which is absolutely not so. The really funny thing about this straw man argument is when someone is making a point about the vaccine(s) not being officially and fully FDA approved they always avoid the fact that it has gone through the authorization process as though that process does not exist at all.

This is strange behavior for someone who wants to make a point about redefining words and their meanings. Because doing this is clearly a lie of omission meant to skew information and taint the discussion.

Another point regards the dynamic response to an outbreak of new and dangerous/deadly bio-threats.

I agree that creating a huge quantity of live, virulent viruses by incubating (usually in chicken eggs) them and then weakening or killing them to produce an injectable vaccine is far from optimum. That’s a huge pool of dangerous biological menace right up to the time the live viruses are killed or weakened. No doubt in the past some of those viruses have escaped to the general population at some point. But those were either dealt with by the vaccine being produced or were non-life-threatening things like common flu.

The more dangerous the virus, the less desirable traditional methods of producing vaccines becomes. The extreme demonstrates the truth here —

Suppose something comes along that is as deadly as hemorrhagic fever (Ebola is an example) but as contagious as the common cold? Do we really want our medical bio-warriors developing huge pools of this sort of that virus so they can kill or weaken it to the point of relative safety to make an injectable vaccine?

There are more and I could go on but the last point I’ll make is that there are as yet no indications that mRNA vaccines are any more dangerous (nor any less) than traditionally produced vaccines.

The mRNA technology has been in development for the last 20 or more years. This isn’t a new thing that just sprang up all of a sudden just because it’s the first time a lot of people are hearing about it. Rather it’s the first widespread use of something that has been in the works for a couple decades. It’s new, it’s not THAT new. There always has to be a first time for anything, people were saying the same thing about polio vaccinations when they came out.

As of the latest information I can find, the incidence of adverse reactions caused by mRNA vaccines is about the same as it is with traditional vaccines. Which is what you would expect from a new vaccine that is generally doing the same sort of thing as the traditionals.

No more and no less either. All vaccinations carry some risk. You just don’t hear about it nearly as much because it’s not that it’s being covered up, it’s just that it’s not newsworthy. We’ve gotten so used to being vaccinated for all sorts of things that unless it affects someone or someone they know personally, it just does not make a splash.

What we’re seeing with the mRNA vaccines is that because they’re new, they are also making news both positive and negative. Even so, it’s relatively the same news as any other vaccine, it’s just getting a lot more attention because it’s new.

I have a moral objection to the use of the fetal cell lines descended from the aborted fetuses of decades ago being used in the research, development, and production of these vaccines. I may have taken other vaccines that fall into this category, but unknowingly. I took a Covid antibody test and have antibodies, although when I had Covid, I didn’t know I had it. My husband was sick with it, for sure, after I was. Science would normally state I don’t need a vaccine. But why does everyone think I need this one? By the way, I know of at least 3 people who died after getting the vaccine, and my fully vaccinated daughter has the virus now. She seems to be recovering nicely, though, thank the Lord. There is no compelling reason for me to get the vaccine.

That’s the other aspect. They’re pushing for vaccines even for those with antibodies. Which is clearly against the science, and makes everything else they’re pushing for untrustworthy.

I’m with you–and since Project Veritas revealed last week the Pfizer company intentionally downplayed their shot’s connection to abortion, research is now demonstrating that it’s worse than that. The cell line in question derives not from abortion, but from actual infanticide of a baby born alive and then vivisected to harvest her organs in 1972. The cell line derives from her kidneys, and would have been useless had she not been born alive first, or if they had used anesthesia on her.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/10/exclusive-pfizers-nervousness-covid-vaccines-origins-conceals-horror-story/

Life Site News reported the connections of all of the shots to abortion (except the J&J one I think–but that’s the one that even the shot-pushers admit causes blood clots), but no one seems to have dug into the origins of that cell line until now.

Hey I would never bust on you for the choices you make, maybe for the end result. As long as you have a reasoned, educated opinion of doing blah I don’t see a problem. If you say on impulse bought a sports-car or a time-share, well then I’ll just mock you endlessly.

From timestamp 3:50 to 6:18 … exactly my take on getting the jab. Once again … I’m with Scott. I got it. I think you should probably get it. I don’t think you should be forced to get it.

Hey Scott. Did you determine that taking the vaccine is the right thing for all of us? Yeah, the American patriots can be counted on to do the right thing and the masses can’t. So, who is refusing the vaccine?…..patriots, not the sheep because it’s an untested drug that is not a vaccine. It doesn’t stop the covid virus, it just lessens the symptoms. If anything, the non vaccinated people should be afraid of the vaccinated. You also seem to pay no attention to the scores of people who have had terrible and irreversible reactions to the RNA drug. You might want to read up on what a vaccine is an is not. You also want us to trust in a product produced by Moderna (an experimental lab) who have produced nothing fit for human consumption until now. Doesn’t that make you wonder? Also, when has anything pushed by the left been good for us? Time to wake up little babe in the woods!

Dude, did you watch the whole video and listen? He thinks you probably should, but you should not be forced to, you should be able to make that decision for yourself. In other words, he has an opinion on it, but recognizes that it is a personal thing, one’s personal decision – which should not be mandated. The idea that everyone must have the same opinion on it as you do is Un-American. There’s nothing more American than recognizing that others may have reached other conclusions, but as long as they aren’t forcing you to abide by those conclusions, you’re good with them.

Yes, just like flu vaccines, it often “just” lessens the symptoms. Which are what lead to hospitalization and death. I mean, if a virus has no symptoms, why the hell do we care about it? If that’s “all” it does, mission accomplished.

Now yes, this is a new way to vaccinate (at least Phizer and Moderna are) A virus is a bit of RNA wrapped in a shell that is code that runs on your cell nuclei that tells it to reproduce the virus. A traditional vaccine is either a weakened virus (that’s done less and less now) or bits of virus-shell proteins that trigger your immune system to respond.

mRNA vaccines are bits of RNA wrapped in a shell that is code that runs on your cell nuclei that tells it to CREATE, itself, some bits of protein that are found on the wrapper of the virus they’re designed to protect against.

In other words, it causes your own body to produce the actual “vaccine”. Because all a vaccine does is mobilize your immune system to produce antibodies that will neutralize a particular virus by attaching to those proteins … which keeps them from entering your cells, and if they can’t enter your cells, they can’t tell your cells to reproduce them. This doesn’t happen the instant a virus enters your body, it has to get into your blood stream. Which is why you can still get infected. The antibodies you produce are why your symptoms are lessened. It can’t get as strong a foothold in your body as it would have without the antibodies.

217 million Americans have been vaccinated. Of course, there have been adverse reactions in a very, very small percentage of them — most of them very temporary. Any medicine, any vaccine, CAN cause adverse reactions in some people, which is one reason WHY you should have a choice. But peanut butter CAN also cause adverse reactions in some people. Anything you ingest or inject or breathe into your body MAY have an adverse reaction.

So 217 million people have been vaccinated, and nobody’s mutated into a one-eyed ogre. It’s really a stretch, at this point, to say it’s “experimental”. You can point to the FDA, but aren’t we conservatives normally railing on the FDA for over-regulation and slowing of bringing new things to market? Now it’s suddenly The Gospel, because it suits our position?

I think people who wear masks everywhere, especially in their cars, alone, or walking outside don’t have a well-developed risk-assessment system. I think that MOST people, people who are healthy, especially, and not in a vaccine “at risk” demographic — who are afraid to get the vaccine — also don’t have a very well-developed risk assessment system. Most of the people in the “at risk” groups know who they are, and I don’t judge.

Get the vaccine, don’t get the vaccine. I don’t care, mainly because I got the vaccine. Do I think it’s probably a good idea if you do? Yep. I do. But I also think it’s your choice. If people can’t grok that and instead think of it as some kind of contradiction for which I should be condemned, I got nothin’ for ’em.

What if SW Airlines is the tip of a nationwide labor strike? On December 8th we might all be saying, “Steve, we’ve got an explosion of suppositories!”
Sorry non-members, only folks who saw yesterday’s Backstage will get that one. Good reason to sign up today!

I posted this in the Backstage yesterday, but a comment at Powerline on the topic summed it up:
The pilots are forbidden to strike. An official sick-out would be illegal. So everybody calls in sick, independently. It’s not a strike; it’s an amazing coincidence.
Southwest management can’t accuse the pilots of wrongdoing for using sick leave, that’s a negotiated benefit. But management also can’t admit the reason for canceling flights is lack of sufficient staffing or the company would owe passengers compensation. So they claim it’s weather-related and therefore the traveller’s bad luck.
The FAA can’t punish Southwest or its pilots because that would be admitting vaccine mandates do harm the economy, which would undermine The Garden Administration’s public relations campaign.
Lies all the way down. It’s the new normal.

The pilots are actually bein even more subtle than you state. Rather than calling in sick, they are just refusing voluntary overtime. Since they are tight on pilots, this combined with flight/rest rules is sufficient to tip to the point where flights get canceled.
So technically there is not even a sick out.
Rather elegant IMHO.

Yeah, I think a lot of them called in sick over the weekend, and now they’re all refusing voluntary overtime. That led to thousands of flights over the weekend because it reached a tipping point where it cascades through the system.

I think other employees are also contributing (as I too posted on the Backstage episode) using classic union tactics such as following OSHA rules to the letter or pulling parts off of airplanes to replace them earlier than they probably would otherwise–and then, oops, it turns out that they don’t have enough parts in inventory–and the shipment of parts is sitting in a container on a ship anchored off the coast of Long Beach, or wherever.

It will be interesting to see if this picks up steam over the weekend again, and if other airline pilots and employees join in. I hope and pray that this turns into the high-profile enough protest that people in other industries see that this is the time for mass civil disobedience.

Interesting how everyone falls to the misdirection. There is a lot of talk around the vax and lately about the mandates. Tha latter is certainly an important standalone point and indeed may be more important than the vax itself. Yet, the original theme should not fade.
Back in 2020, as the mRNA based vaccine was introduced the saying was, that if it works, then it will create a REVOUTION on the defense front. As we have a vector to smuggle the mRNA into the cell, the cell will produce whatever protein we coded, and later on if we want a different one, it’s just a trivial adjustment of the template. So, i.e. should the virus mutate, we can just run its genom, and replace the alpha-spike with the delta spike. And from next week we are shelling out vax most tailored to the relevant strain. And can kill off the disease like a snap.
Aaaaand… we indeed observed a new variant emerging. And taking over the old one. It gained majority close to the start of the year. The original is as good as extinct by now. Avery day millions of doses are injected around the world, and it is good for — wait for it — yea, not the current strain. Heh?
Just as if there was no interest whatsoever to get working immunity, stopping the spread and move on. While many countries mandate the vax, they carefully avoid mandating the good one!
And while it feels like 90% of all the news and talks is covid related, this simple fact is not in the talks. Both proponents and opponents fully collaborate to keep it out of sight. Not even mentioned in passing.
Are we so addicted to keep this mess going on forever?
