Boeing vaccine mandates

I work for Boeing, Boeing announced that it would require all employees to vaccinate, the union is sending out emails and informing us of what’s going on.

I was going to start a new position in November to make more money than I am now, but I am conflicted. I don’t want to take the vaccine and believe it is wrong to mandate. I will try and fill out a religious exemption form. Just posting this for the other member thoughts. Any employees of Boeing who aren’t vaccinated by December 8th will lose their jobs.

Hey Jacob, Happily I retired from Boeing 6 years ago, so I am like the fish living in the reef watching this hurricane rage above me.
For the first time, I am seriously considering cashing out my pension in a lump sum because for the first time I see this (non-COLA adjusted) annuity being significantly trimmed by inflation or dollar devaluation during my and my wife’s lifetimes. Better to take it now and turn it into a tangible asset that I can enjoy, like a ski chalet in Grindelwald.
In my career, I was often a “one of one” deployed overseas working projects for the company in support of foreign military customers. As tumultuous as it would be, I am contrarian enough to wish I was still working there so I could drag them along until the last day, then walk out with my integrity intact and leave them in the lurch. I would never have considered doing that to the company that I joined, but the company that I left had already started the long slide toward pandering to the left.
For what it is worth, if you can afford to hold the line and refuse the mandate. I believe it is going to be a (labor) seller’s market in a few months when the Freedom Flu runs its course.

At the end of August my employer announced a mandate for the jab. As of today (October 15, 2021), my wife and many others are being terminated for refusing the jab. Unfortunately, I needed to comply due to financial reasons and too short of a window to find alternative comparable employment. The really crappy part of this is the fact that the religious exemption application process was extremely onerous and confrontational, but those few who were actually granted such exemptions are being forced into an indefinite leave without pay status.
I just learned that a lawsuit against our employer was denied injunctive relief today. That denial is no surprise given the amount of political and judicial corruption that has plagued this State for decades.
I sympathize with your predicament, and I do not know how all of this will play out. Perhaps Glenn Beck is correct and we are destined for a National Divorce.
