A YouTube Hack…Searching Your Playlists To Find the Right One When Saving a Video

A problem which has plagued all of humanity is the fact that YouTube offers no option to alphabetize your playlists when saving a video.  It brings up all of your playlists sorted by the ones to which you’ve most recently saved other videos.  Needless to say, you can waste a lot of your time scrolling down the list to find the right playlist(s) which will become a home for the current video.

To my sheer delight, I discovered today that you can hit the save button under a video and, once it brings up your list of playlists in the middle of the screen, position your cursor up at the top where the words “Save to…” appear.  Then click your mouse thereby selecting that dialogue box as your search area.  Then hit Ctrl-F.  Type the name or part of the name of the playlist you need in the box provided and use the up and down arrows next to it to find the playlist you need.  Once you’ve found the desired playlist, select it as usual by checking the box to the left (hint: if the background behind the dialogue box is moving when you hit the up or down arrow, you haven’t selected the dialogue box itself and it’s searching for your word on the page in the background).  Repeat as often as needed to save the same video to other playlists before exiting.  Works like a charm!

This might not seem like much, but when you watch and save a lot of videos for future reference, it’s a godsend.  This is one problem for which Google does a poor job of providing you with an answer to the question.

God bless my fellow patriots, and God bless the United States of America!

“I will NOT go silently into that good night.  I will not capitulate to the left.  I will not lay down.  For the memory of that young man that had that bayonet plunged into him.  To the memory of that young woman who was blown up in Iraq.  To the memory of those firefighters on 9/11.  I will not be silent.  I will not go away.  I will not lay down.  I will not shut up.  I will not stop talking.  I will not stop fighting.  Everything that is in me I will stand up.  I will stand up with the courage of John the Baptist and Joshua.  I will stand up encouraged by those who came before me.  I will move forward.  I will keep striving.  I will keep fighting for that cause.”
