AOC skips voting in person in Congress because of the ongoing pandemic emergency … it’s too dangerous to show up to the capitol with a high percentage of vaccinated people, socially distanced and following protocols … but … instead, she goes to a drag club in Miami — you know the state they’re constantly heckling for not having statewide mandates and therefore the place where no *responsible* serious person would go …
And she catches COVID. So voting in Congress in person — too dangerous. Drag club in a highly populated area in “teh worst state, evah!!!! Governor DeSatan!!!!” — totally fine (and you’re probably a bigot if you say otherwise, right? I mean, how dare you criticize a non-white female going to a drag club? That’s like 40 bonus points in PC poker!)
She’ll likely be fine. She’s young, healthy, and vaccinated. And hopefully she got Omicron, the head-cold version. So can we at least admit that we are NOT in the same situation we were in in March 2020? This is no longer a novel virus, we have several vaccines and know better how to treat it.

It may not be helpful to use the rhetoric of “War” to bring folks to our side, but it is vital for us to recognize that element of the Left that is definitely at war with us conservatives and think/plan accordingly.

The reason why we’re in such bad shape is because the democrats are in charge. There is no other reason.
I think what Zo is noticing is that the government and the mainstream media have put all of their eggs in the basket of vaccines and PPDs and have gone out of their way to ridicule, demonize, and politicize therapeutics. And the former don’t work nearly as well as hoped.

1) CV is bad, especially to people in certain demographics.
2) Vaccines work. Nothing works 100%. Cars don’t work 100%. But they work well enough for me to have one.
3) Chances are you should (have) get (gotten) a vaccine.
4) You shouldn’t be forced to get one.
5) The government shouldn’t tell doctors what they can and can’t use. Thereputic drugs should not be ignored.
6) WRT #2, now that there’s Omicron … I sympathize Steve’s approach. Using the marker they use, infection is ~27x more effective than a vaccine.
7) I agree with the panel … it would be awesome if we could talk about something else.

Campaigns to demoralize us. Our ‘leaders’ use them to control us and they don’t believe a word of them: We’re all going to die. (Yes, that’s true.) We’re going to kill Grandma if we don’t throw a blanket on our face. (I AM Grandma, and I can’t cover my face with a blanket at night, so why would I during the day?) It would be better if you lost your job than not get the vaccine. (We’ll see how long they can do without us.) The climate change is going to kill us. (No, having no fuel to deal with climate change is what will kill us.) If you have kids you’re contributing to the destruction of the earth. (People are not a scourge upon the earth. People are the earth’s best, most precious natural resource.)
I think Zo got caught in one of the traps the Leftists have put out to induce fear in the populace. There are numbers released about how many positive tests and cases and whatnot, but also “people admitted to the hospital with Covid” but they don’t say “because of” because that isn’t what they mean.
He asked why get a vaccine if it doesn’t prevent the infection and you’ll be sick enough to go to the hospital, but the infection isn’t what is sending you to the hospital. Whether the vaccine is effective or the drugs we’re banned from even talking about, much less taking, are different issues… or at least different parts of a larger issue: the lies and fearmongering that was his main point of consideration.
Karl, you are not reading the same hospital admission sources I read. What Zo said is Exactly what’s happening. The deaths in hospital from covid are occuring among the Vacinated. The unvaxed, like me, never had to go to hospital in the first place. I survived -19. Delta, Omicron all at home. Follow Dr. Peter McCullouch’s treatment schedule, and you won’t become a covid death statistic. btw, I’m not a healthy young guy, I’m old and fat.
I am not looking at admission reports. I don’t have the time to chase down every fact and report so I rely on reports from people I can trust.
Most likely there are several different groups of numbers out there and they are all true because there are several different situations. There are healthy people in the hospital with injuries testing positive, infected in the hospital for care despite the vaccine and some in the hospital without the shot that would have been there anyway, given case two.
Let’s also stop letting these b*stards spin 1/6 as an “insurrection” and call it for what it was – America’s Reichstag Fire.
Until we get a full acounting of who gave the order to remove the barricades and open the doors, along with all communications between congresscritters, FBI Agents,a dn their Antifa Brownshirts, there is no reason to treat The Radical Left’s narrative with any legitimacy.

The left is rapidly approaching the Law of Diminishing Returns and the threshold of apathy. They’ve shot their load and the ‘Rona has laughed at them and pursued it’s own course. People are getting tired of the lockdowns and masks and apathy is setting in. The realization that COVID-19 is here to stay and we’re all going to have to learn to deal with it is dawning on both sides.
From the point where diminishing returns are obvious, where apathy grows to dominate and onwards, the power that the Left has seized in opportunistic avarice will diminish and may never fully recover. That is to be hoped for, they deserve it.
While we may not have the power and liberty that The People once had, we still have enough to deal with these wannabe tyrants. Simply by sheer mass of numbers and the economic engine we all rely on. America will step back into normalcy before the Left can achieve ultimate power permanently.
Then the Left, the Bidens and Harris’s, the Pilosi’s and the Schumers, and all the rest of them including their precious squad, will offer the excuse for their despicable power grab that they “were just trying to help the little people” or some such hogwash. Because it has been the poor and disadvantaged, the littlest of people, that they have harmed the most. In their thirst for political power they have exposed all their cards and the hand was not so strong as they thought.

If you want to hear the ultimate disgusting talking down to people by a politician you should listen to one of ours. Chrystia Freeland here in Canada never talks to anyone or answers questions directly. She always sounds like a stuffed up school marm spinster chastising a small child.
She sounds like that not out of pretense or posturing. She sounds like that because that’s what she is. You people up there need to stop voting for that kind of person every bit as much as we need to do the same down here in the States.
There is more than perverse hypocrisy at work here as that characterization implies that these people actually know the truth yet say or act differently. I think it more important to acknowledge that they follow their ideology where it takes them. In trying to be generous to those responsible for deciding what actions should be taken to manage public health and more specifically those taken to manage the virus, I offer the following. I am fully aware of the value of vaccines and the importance they provide to the health of a society, but a society’s health is determined by many other factors, with economic, medical, psychological, and cultural elements being just a few. Governments are created to insure societal health. With the onset of the pandemic and the uncertainty of its severity, our elected representatives were forced to make decisions which defined “here” as good and “there” not. The effects which followed appeared to be effective as the anticipated number of Covid deaths fell in that first year from 2 million to 400,000. While the accuracy of those numbers can be challenged now, at the beginning there was no reliable data to guide decisions. Over the past two years data has accumulated which, though still incomplete, indicate that the effects of the virus and various decisions made to control it cannot be measured simply by the number of infections, positive tests, and deaths. Studies have revealed serious damage to the health of our society with some irreversible. Whatever side one takes in the debate over vaccination and government mandates, it is imperative we look critically at data, understand its limitations, and engage with and press our representatives to act according to the accumulating information. Increasingly it is clear the virus no longer is the threat it appeared to be but the damaging consequences to our society through our attempts to limit its spread are irrefutable. The number of overdose deaths, crime, failures in education, wreckage of small businesses, incidents of depression and suicide, and most recently on brain development in children, among other issues all point to the relative unimportance of the virus compared to the ill effects of federal, state, and municipal governments’ requirements. The most recent variant appears to cause rare mortality and that is among the most vulnerable. More therapeutics are available to improve morbidity and mortality rates even among that group. It is time to remove the mandates, reopen society, and allow institutions, businesses, and most importantly individuals to make decisions for themselves. There is no particular value in demonizing those in charge. They can be changed at election. In the interim we need to press them based on the data encompassing all of society’s “health” by writing to them and to our local and regional papers.

I have been a fan of Zo since like 2007 and I am glad to see him more here. This format isn’t the best fit for him, but it’s nice to hear his perspective.
Zo is absolutely correct in the very beginning. I think Scott is a bit squeamish to call it like it is. Dr. Malone, Dr. McCullough and now, especially RFK, Jr. are calling it what it is. The powers that be have continuously blocked every treatment that works to stop Covid19. There is no denying it. Every time a protocol to cure it has been developed, the medical hierarchy, led by Tony Fauci, has made direct efforts to stop any and all doctors from prescribing that protocol. Period. We have been watching it from the beginning of this plandemic. I am only about 1/4 way through RFK, Jr’s book and I have to take it in small doses to maintain my sanity. Buy it. Read it. We MUST come together to stop and destroy this Big Pharma led dictatorship.

Zo is right on and there’s no way you can call that conspiracy. A doctor will loose his license by prescribing the cure drugs. The definition of vaccine has been changed to run this pony show. A vaccine is supposed to protect.
When I was a child (decades ago) it was not unusual to hear someone say, “That scared me to death.” Today we’re actually experiencing that.
