There’s Somethin’ Happening Here…so Let’s Go!

There’s something happening here,  what it is ain’t exactly clear….

I see the Xfinity email login has changed to say “Let’s Go” on the button that takes you to your password cell,  and just last week I saw my first Hertz “Let’s Go” commercial featuring Tom Brady saying Let’s Go over and over and over in different situations.  

The ‘”Capitan Obvious” in me is saying  that Hertz and Comcast are capitalizing on a popular and trending phrase.  The “Dr. Evil” in me is saying that these two companies and probably more are ‘mainstreaming’  the phrase “Let’s Go” to diminish the LGB phenom.

Either way, I see through it.  But will others?

Someone is making and selling stickers that look like that, with some variations on Joe pointing but all the same general idea. They’re showing up around here pasted on gas pumps next to the price window.

I wish I knew where they’re buying them. I’d get a roll of them too.

I dunno about your Dr. Evil take on it. It seems to me that once people have heard “Let’s go Brandon” enough times, when they hear or see “Let’s go” the natural thing to do is tack “Brandon” on the end.

This might only be a coincidence but if so, I can see nothing but positive in it.

Yes. Even before I read your reply, all I could think was,

  1. “Let’s go Brandon”, and
  2. “What idiot marketer thought this was a good idea as an advertising ploy for lefty companies?”

Ha, both good points.

Everyone is always trying to come up with a catch phrase that sticks. Star Trek has been doing this since STG and is unintentionally mocking that in the latest touchy-feely girly version.

As catch phrases go, “Let’s go” isn’t a bad one for a car rental company. It’s just that we had it first with “Let’s go Brandon” and now they’re helping us out with that. Very generous of them.

Because you’re going to start seeing “Brandon” scrawled under that catch phrase on any and every bit of advertising that is susceptible to that kind of graffiti.

HAH! I will enjoy seeing that graffiti. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I will be looking for it.

Have you see the stickers with Joe Biden pointing to the side with the caption “I did that” pasted on gas pumps next to the price yet? It looks like the meme Julianne posted above on this page, with variations.

They’re showing up all over the place here.
