Gavin Newsome declares today that Feb 15 will be the end of his indoor mask mandate. Of course, he couldn’t go “all….the….way!!!” because then he’d lose all control. So, “fweedom” for the vaccinated only. For the rest of you, “Mask up in my State”.
Think this move is in any way prompted by what’s going on up in the North? Newsome’s man child ‘brother from another mother’, Tredeau, had to go into hiding , possibly with a touch of Omicron for himself and his kids, as reported today, while the mean nasty truckers and their kiddy bounce-house supporters are protesting outside. Newsome has far more grand plans for his career, and a California version of what Tredeau is going through might tarnish Newsome and his future presidential dreams.
Of course, Newsome listed all the great reasons for dropping the mandate, underwhelmed hospitals, past the peak Omicron, etc. But I can’t help but think that Newsome is fearful of Sacramento being gridlocked with protesting truckers, and probably some Lyft and Uber drivers as well, and well as kids and moms and dads and grannies and grandpas all at the Sacramento park, supporting the drivers, protesting from their own bouncey houses. And I’d suppose the crowds might be larger when the high in Sacramento will be 65 deg F ABOVE ZERO!

No one here (in CA) is paying attention to him anymore outside of LA county except for a few. We were done with the Covid crapola months ago.
Add SF, Oakland, tycoons of FB,…er….Beta, Alphabet Google and Netflix of Silicon Valley and downtown Sacramento to that list….ohh ohhh I almost forgot, Marin County and the leftists of Santa Cruz and Berzerkley….

Great work – there is a point where politicians (in a democracy) have to start listening to the people again – we are quickly passing that point. The most important thing to note – I have never see a Canadian get upset – I don’t think there is any recored incidents of in ever! Imagine how bad that blubbering man-child must be to piss off more that 50,000 Canadian truckers!!
I’ve been watching the arguments back and forth in their Parliament. Trudeau is truly a dictator in every sense of the word. He is sealing his fate and it won’t be good for him.
I completely agree – I believe that is a swing back to the right – watch Canada with Trudeau, in New Zealand watch Jascinda Ardern, the big swing will be the mid terms in the US – I hope it is not cheated
