A computer terminal is a technocrat’s “Holy of Holies.”
First saw Shatner on “The Twilight Zone” in ‘Nick of Time’ where he is a freaked out airline passenger who sees an alien (really campy bear suit) on the plane’s wing. Then I’m seeing him fight the cheesiest alien green reptiles and white apes on “Star Trek”. They all out-acted him, and they didn’t really have to work at it. If you look at the Wikipedia page on Shatner, you’d think that he was one of our most classically trained and original actors.
Not sure why, when I tried watching this on YT there was no audio. But there is here on the site.
Bill turned up the volume on youtube and it’s good now.
There is another reason why the stingers are so successful. If you have enough of them you can have one lock-on triggering the defensive flares then another stinger takes a shot and there are no flares left.
There is also reported to be a device that is very cheap, light and easy that can emulate several anti air lock-on systems and range finders. These do no harm but drive off air craft and use up their flares. It showed up in a defense show in Asia a few years ago and vanished. Classified.
There is also a gadget used by snipers and ATGM users that emulates a muzzle flash and synchronized to the gun. Placed 20 – 30 meters away they can confuse the foe about where the shooter is.
