$44 Billion Bet on Liberty: Can Elon Musk Restore Free Speech to Twitter?

Can the Tesla/SpaceX founder’s $44 billion investment restore free speech to the land of hate-speech moderation, Twitter jail, and algorithmic monitoring?

Elon Musk’s sudden bid to buy Twitter and to take the public company private suddenly succeeds. Can the Tesla/SpaceX founder’s $44 billion investment restore free speech to the land of hate-speech moderation, Twitter jail, and algorithmic monitoring?

Jesse Waters hopefully is wrong but probably not, the left is going to try and destroy Musk. The FCC will come after him, he’ll be investigated, anything on twitter that could be responsible for some crime will be blamed on Musk. I hope he is ready for the fight. He should clean house and fire the whole management and bring in new people. That was the mistake Trump made in not cleaning house.

Acts17Apologetics and Jihad Watch both expose the three stages of jihad. It’s amazing how similar Leftist and islamic tactics are When not in complete control, they’re timid and polite. As they gain power, they get more militantly defensive. Once they’re in control, they go full on the offensive. Leftists NEVER believed in free speech. They believe in THEIR free speech.

The reason for the similarity is that both groups worship the same “god,” knowingly, or not.

Fight like hell patriots. Keep pushing. Do not stop until they are exposed for the enemies of freedom and democracy that they are.

There is a huge benefit to Twitter now as a platform where we can share all of the information outing this corrupt establishment with millions of everyday Americans who don’t follow this stuff and showing the Washington establishment and their globalist network of politicians and others in business and academia for the fascists that they are. They’ve been trying for years to take down the West behind everyone’s backs. Now the jig is up.
Some examples from the stolen election. If you think the left is going crazy now, wait until we decertify the 2020 election and reverse every single decision made by Biden including the invalid appoint of Judge Tokenji Jackson-Brown to the Supreme Court…

The doxxing of the Libs of TikTok site is the greatest example of “the left wants the right to shut up; the right wants the left to keep talking.”

Horrible idea to authenticate every single person on Twitter. All you do is go back to being found and bullied by those big and strong enough to force their opinion on you. I don’t someone from the big moron army that the left will create coming to my house to silence my voice. You might as well go for a national gun registry while you’re at it.

Thank you. They currently justify violence against others due to “hate speech” which they consider violence against them. They attacked Tucker Carlson’s house when he wasn’t home forcing his wife to lock herself in a closet and call 911 while they pounded on and broke his front door. They accosted Rand Paul and his wife on the street after an event. They attacked Sen. Josh Hawley’s house when his wife and newborn were at home alone. They’re evil.

Of course, whatever is considered violent hate speech is not agreed upon by all but unilaterally decided by them. The end result is that they have granted themselves unlimited authority…as all bullies and tyrants do…to beat the snot out of whoever looks at them the wrong way. They are no different from the schoolyard bullies who pick on other kids by coming up with a reason such as they don’t like what they’re wearing or making false accusations such as, “Stop looking at me!” when the other kid wasn’t looking in their direction.

The right to face your accusers in front a speedy trial by jury of your peers is evidence of the wisdom of the founding fathers and their familiarity with tyranny.

While I always appreciate Scott’s contributions as well as those of the entire group, I think his idealism borne out of the good nature upon which this country relies heavily may have gotten the better of him this time. Happens to all of us good guys. 😉

I think the good/bad calculation on authentication comes down to where that information is stored and who has access to it.
A – it could be that someone has to prove that they are a person, possibly provide some real world address or identity information that Twitter stores in case of police inquiry. (Instead of tracking you down just by matching IP address to ISP logs, they can have your address to start. Also available if a court so orders in a libel/slander type situation). I don’t know how the LibsOfTikTok person was found, but whatever Twitter uses to identify users as people should not be usable for such actions.
B – The info is available in some public form or internally in such an way that disgruntled employees can provide it to friendly partisans. This would certainly lead where you fear.

I would guess that Scott just looked at the “get rid of the bots” part of the authenticate promise and didn’t have time to consider the ramifications. He was responding in real time so I gave him the benefit of the doubt, not being a systems person or well versed in how things like that can go badly.

Thank you for clarifying. Yes. I give Scott the benefit of the doubt as well. A hack or internal compromise is always a concern. Last I set one up, Google tries to authenticate your email account with a valid phone number (which, granted, can be anything including a burner phone as far as I know and not tied to an address).
Just for the risk of security breach at a repository alone, I would be reluctant to give a home address. If they want to make people
I think a subscription based model which I heard either these guys or someone else suggest would help weed out the random human trolls unwilling to lay out a monthly fee, but even there, Soros or some other fascist through an NGO will fund their army of leftist trolls just like they paid their protestors. It would be the independent guy struggling to survive whose voice we would lose.
It’s a head scratcher for sure.

At any rate, thrilled to have a true free speech platform through which we can make everyday Americans aware of the rot and corruption especially the foreign influence in the 2020 election (and probably before). This leads right to the globalist fascists and puts the nail in the coffin for our establishment. Dismissing the rigging as simply due to Zuckerbucks or ballot harvesting isn’t enough.
As it stands, we have establishment candidates like gutless Bill McSwain of PA running for governor who refused to look into the 2020 election results as U.S. Attorney appointed by Trump to the Eastern District of PA which includes Philadelphia. Makes me sick to my stomach.

I don’t believe, like the Democrats do, that a judge that you appoint should do your political bidding, but when your state ignores the Supreme Court’s order to keep the ballots received after Election Day separate from the others, there’s a problem!!!

Though the deal hasn’t been consummated, I would be shocked if Musk backs out at this point given his appetite for risks and the stakes. I’m sure he’s well aware of the message it would send if he does without at least backing/funding/buying another free speech alternative.

Thanks again for your feedback. Happy Friday!

I’ve never been tempted to join Twitter. Until now. Gonna give it a chance to “work out the kinks”, hopefully the anti-free speech “kinks”, before I do. Absolutely love the pendulum swinging our way for a change.

I will take a wait and see approach to what happens at Twitter. That’s a lot of inertia, and even as big a deal as Elon Musk is, he is still a pretty small rudder.
